  1. We can trade our 2017 first rounder...
  2. Agreed, but you'll get that in most sides if the opposition's ball movement is slick. Certainly work to be done though.
  3. Agreed, although Lynch's dominance in the first half was off the back of a lack of Melbourne midfield pressure. We allowed their players to run off half back and deliver too easily to Lynch and co. So certainly not all Tom's fault.
  4. Better efficiency going forward, better forward structures and more games into our young guns and that spells excitement.
  5. Thanks, Ethan. Pays to do your homework.
  6. This might be a funny one, but I wonder if Zorko would be worth a look? Might be a cheaper option than a Josh Kelly type.
  7. Reminded me of US sport actually. I'd be [censored] off if I was a St Kilda supporter, but he was working within the rules.
  8. I get so sick of those two little pills. They're infuriating. How many times today did North players whinge at the umpires, yet still got a terrific run? Not to mention Swallow's best attempts to mirror his coach's look of arrogant bemusement at least twice. For a club that's had a pretty ordinary history and won't win a flag with their current mob, I'm surprised I hate them so much.
  9. Jono Brown is probably the best. Used to think Dunstall was, but he's become a little biased in recent times.
  10. Why would Jaeger want to go to Richmond? Surely he's more likely to want to go to a top 8 team. That won't be Richmond. Can't see it being Collingwood either. He's a really interesting one, even more so than Prestia, because he's missed so much football. At least Prestia has played 80+ games, while O'Meara has only managed 44. It's really hard to judge his worth as a result. Given he was a top pick, I can't see the Suns giving him up cheaply. Particularly, if he's still in their plans.
  11. I reckon a few of these Etihad sides are going to get shown up during the finals series. Teams like North and the Bulldogs play all these games at Etihad in quite controlled and predictable conditions and then all of a sudden they have to play on the G in a final. I reckon we're a real chance next week against the Dogs.
  12. Particularly playing for a club he feels has a heart. I think he wanted to come home last year. He should have. Has he missed his chance? Time will tell, but I reckon the club wouldn't be stupid enough to pass him up if he's a chance. I'm a little perplexed. How can anyone say Prestia is purely an inside mid? He's quick and certainly has the ability to get it on the outside. Averages 28 disposals at his best. If the club thinks his body is going to stand up, he's a no-brainer. Exactly. We get Hurley and Prestia, improve our defensive systems and we make the top 4 next year. RE: filling needs - I'll trust our FD to work something out if Hurley and Prestia were keen on making the switch.
  13. Awards like The Rising Star are irrelevant nowadays. Last year, in a leaner season, I could see the merit in getting excited about it (sort of), but I'm just happy we have Oliver and Petracca on our list. They are both going to be seriously good players and as I keep saying, this midfield we've built is going to be something special.
  14. When he starts racking up 25+ every week, they'll be salivating over him as they do Cripps. I've heard quite a bit in the press about Oliver. The fact he is already mentioned as one of our important mids says it all really.
  15. When Gold Coast were in the game, despite being down in all the key stats, McDonald affected two or three spoils, but was comfortably beaten by Lynch. Let's not wallpaper this again. In the end, Lynch was just starved of supply. But pleasingly there weren't any major Tommy Mac brainfades last night that I can recall. Obvioisly, we look a lot more solid when he restricts his errors. The only error I can recall is the dropped mark that resulted in Lynch's 4th just before half time. If he keeps things simple we are a better football side. Fingers crossed he's learnt from the St Kilda game.
  16. That's what I was wondering. Wasn't spotted on the plane this morning. I hope he's alright.
  17. Untrue. We can't rest on our laurels. Premiership sides win it in the middle. Viney, Tyson, Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw are potential A graders. Viney is already there. The great sides have 6-7 stars that can go through the middle. Prestia would offer us speed and further clearance winning ability. Not to mention he's a proven quantity. A lot of those blokes aren't. He'll also take the pressure off a Viney and Tyson. I reckon we've still got room for two more clearance machines. Prestia and Neale would be nice. If we're going to match it with the GWS' and Bulldogs' of the world, we're going to need a very deep midfield.
  18. A number of people were on the plane going up, so I'd say we have a lot of supporters that went up, but also a few QLD-based supporters.
  19. I must have missed that switching between the two games. I missed that he was injured. Assumed he'd be playing next week.
  20. I'd prefer Kelly. Quicker and a beautiful kick. Scully kicks it like a VFL player. Up and under every time.
