  1. I still think we need more midfield depth. If it's not Prestia, then we still need to be on the look out in the coming 2-3 years. As they say, midfields win premierships.
  2. Michie doesn't get it enough, nor is his disposal damaging enough. Mind you, his disposal is neater than Harmes'.
  3. It's possible, but I'm inclined to think we just offered him less cash and possibly less years too.
  4. Yep, I'd say he and his manager are trying to secure his future. Disappointing. I'd like to think I wouldn't do it in his place, but who knows?
  5. This is exactly why he's tradeable for mine too. But only for the right price. O'Meara isn't it.
  6. Or no one went cold on anyone. Richmond have just offered more.
  7. Really? This is an astounding post. O'Meara is a 22 year old with a degenerative knee condition that averages 21 disposals. He hasn't played for two years. Tyson is averaging 25 disposals and is becoming one of our most important players. Hunt off the half back flank is almost just as valuable. Stretch is 19 and is already averaging 19 disposals - the kid will be a gun. I'd consider trading Salem, but not for O'Meara. For a player of Brad Crouch's ilk, who is able to get on the park.
  8. Yuck. This is a yucky post.
  9. He won't get on the park, mate. He's barely played AFL footy. I wouldn't give up a Salem/class player from our list for an injury-riddled O'Meara. I'm sorry, I just wouldn't and I don't think the MFC will entertain it either.
  10. Haha, that'd be funny. Slightly possible too.
  11. Yeah, I think they're about a year behind North too. But they're an arrogant football club remember and when clubs get arrogant (Essendon, Melbourne of the 60's and Hawthorn and Geelong now), they tend to believe their own spin. I hope and think they will go for O'Meara.
  12. Yep, I'm lost and the fact that they don't have a couple of fringers that could be bundled together for a first rounder is telling, IMO.
  13. They might have to look at someone like Whitecross, Hartung or Shiels. That is, I repeat, if they believe O'Meara's knee will hold up.
  14. For the record, Pendlebury was another junior basketballer whose talents translated to AFL. I'm sure Corey'll be just as good.
  15. Might make sense this. Especially given it's likely Hibberd will re-sign with Essendon, the Collingwood Maynard might be a nice fit off half back. Doesn't have the kicking skills of Hibberd though, but another left footer to add to the cabinet. It's becoming a pretty full cabinet.
  16. It depends how much they think he'll get back on the park. If they think it's worth it, they might just trade a player or two that could get them the required picks. Or the Suns may just have to accept two late first rounders for him.
  17. And you watch. As long as no one in the media brings it up or there's little beating of the drums, the AFL won't want to shut down the loop hole.
  18. I actually think he'll end up at Hawthorn. They can afford to take that risk. They almost have to take that risk, given their aging stars.
  19. It's hilarious that this thread is still around. I apologise to all Demonlanders for adding to it and keeping it alive.
  20. Pity it wasn't 5mil over 5 years. He's not that good.
  21. It'll be about who they actually add to their list that will determine the success of their 2017.
  22. But what I like about all this O'Meara hype is that some desperate and idiotic club will pay way overs for him, the Suns' midfield will be weakened, another opposition club will bloat their salary cap and enable us to go after the players that we need to fill the final few holes. And most likely, O'Meara will never be able to string together a full season at AFL level.
  23. I hope his signing dints their salary cap considerably.
  24. If we get there, it'll mean we can put everything into the Geelong game and then have a week off to freshen up. I don't have a problem with the week off TBH.
