Reckon we were playing games there.

Weideman is not a great mark at this stage. He often two grabs contested marks. North have stuffed this up and now his trade value has diminished to our benefit. How does a 60+ goal a year forward not suit our game style? This is another artificial barrier. Do people not want to succeed?

Let's wait and see, OD. Think you'll find we're a far better destination than Essendon.

We have two AA mids under 25. We have Viney, Brayshaw and Harmes in support. We had a very strong defence. We need to improve our forwardline. A KPF that can kick a regular bag. A dangerous small to compliment Kozzie and we need run and carry with good ball use. Smith and Polec fit that bill. It's addressing needs. Not topping up.

What are you talking about? So we're overrating our list by trying to improve it? What would you prefer we did? Sit on our hands? Seriously. Ridiculous stuff.

It's not going to happen. 5km restrictions are likely to be lifted this weekend. I'm hopeful we'll be out and about by December, but large crowds at confined sporting events is another deal altogether. We might be right for limited capacity for early 2021 AFL season, that's about the best we can hope for. Lost my love of cricket and tennis years ago, so not fussed by either of those sports, selfishly speaking.

I'd go for Higgins too, but depends what you're battling in terms of contract versus other clubs. I'd be happy with Smith and Polec.

I'm not convinced. If you can get a job in sport it's just as secure if not more so than the wider business community. Stagnant economy for 3 years, propped up by financialisation and private debt. Most of the asset classes are near capacity as investors look for places to safeguard wealth, the RBA has done a recent report on a 40% contraction in the housing market (CBA initially predicted 30% and then back pedalled because that's the business they're in), nothing guaranteed in the next 5-10 years. A Depression is very likely in the next 2-3. It's tough times for everyone, including business. Sport will keep plugging along though, so get a job at a footy club on big money and you might be able to weather the storm.

I reckon we're a genuine shot at the top 4 next year, particularly with the assistants and players we're looking at bringing in. It's time to step up. Smith, Polec, Brown and one or two others will immediately make us better. I'm happy enough with what I'm hearing behind the scenes.

Brown and Weideman at ground level is a real problem IMV. You can't have two guys that barely tackle inside 50 with two mid sized players that have barely tackled for two years in Fritsch and Melksham.

It's either Smith or Savage. I reckon we'll go with Smith, though I concede that if Smith falls through we may turn our attention to a Savage. Particularly, with the Richardson connection.

I'd be playing Brown and Jackson in the same side and putting Weideman on the trade table.

So much posturing. De Goey and Oliver's management trying to drive up their prices. As far as I'm concerned I'd be paying Oliver want he wants. If he wants to jeopardise our cap by taking more than we think we can afford it'll mean he plays in a weaker team than it might be if he took a bit less. I'm confident we'll do the right thing by him and he'll do the right thing by us.

I'd play Brown and Jackson as the two talls with Petty as back up.

I'd go and get Brown who we'd get more goals out of than Weideman. Play Jackson as the mobile tall. Tom McDonald either stays or goes.
