  1. No way North gets three top 9 picks...
  2. In opposition to the top dog, @binman, I'm expecting us to free the shackles and I think we'll allow this game to flow free a bit, to minimise the crash and bash, and we'll also be psychologically freed to play with less fear of failure given the double chance is locked up. Additionally, it'll give us a chance to defend faster ball movement in preparation for Collingwood. It'll be interesting to see which way we go, I'm expecting us to win it though, and we won't want to head into a QF off a loss.
  3. I would in this draft. But I'll back JT. If he thinks the talent will still be there by then, great. Remember, that it's very likely a North compo pick or NGA access dilutes the top 5, and then you've got the Suns getting access to another top 3-5 pick in Walters. In other words, it's not really the top 4-5, it's the top 6-7.
  4. I'd like to think this has been a 3-4 year strategy of waiting to fill that list hole with FAs when that age bracket reaches FA eligibility.
  5. Not necessarily...
  6. I'm sure you're right, mate, but that seems ridiculous that the top team can basically potentially manufacture a shorter turnaround for their opponent. Hugely unfair, despite the fact they've done the hard yards and won the minor premiership during the H&A season.
  7. Stats are irrelevant. Turner hasn't even played a full game yet. What a ridiculous strawman...
  8. I rate Parish. I think he's been poorly coached and developed. A bit like Merrett actually. They're both low damage accumulators. But they both need to develop their intercept and defensive game. Very doable. Essendon are an interesting watch for mine. They could well have a resurgence next year, out of nowhere, if Scott gets the coaching right. If they lose Parish and he goes to a better system, I reckon he'll become a gun that he showed glimpses of in 2021.
  9. Amon went there at the end of last year. I think you'll find it's pretty ordinary at most clubs.
  10. I love the Fritta, Turner selections and I love the mixture of the team. It feels quick, unpredictable and difficult to match up on. I hope we go all out to win it, irrespective of other results. We want to take winning form into the QF, and just remember who we beat and where in Round 23 of last year, and the finals record of that particular opponent.
  11. He failed both times? What are you talking about? His debut, he lasted all of ten minutes before getting injured. That wasn't a failure. That was an injury.
  12. There's a little bit of the Blues and their "they know we're coming" arrogance about it, but I guess at least we've won something in the last five years, when the Blues used that, they hadn't won a flag in 15+ years.
  13. And just on Luke, if he goes, is that likely to cause more instability at the Bulldogs or solve it? I'd love Naughton, thank you very much.
  14. It was a bit harder for Max given he wasn't playing.
  15. I think the Allen talk was last year or the year before wasn't it?
  16. Would be staggered if Brodie is with us next year.
  17. Interesting. I heard from someone at your mob (I think it's your mob anyway), that Grundy was Geelong or Sydney bound, and Port were out of the picture, but I get that things change.
  18. But when the modern game's ball movement relies entirely on moving the ball quickly, you need explosive defenders to either cover the zone or an opponent on a lead.
  19. They may well go with Turner at CHB and Smith to sub.
  20. Which is why having spent half a season without him, our midfield will cope. And we have to be able to generate an advantage elsewhere due to that tag. Clarry plays the defensive mid for example. He is already our best tackler.
  21. Given the ins, I'd like Turner to get a go for Tomlinson, but I can't see a way that happens. So TMac in, Laurie to sub, if no TMac, then Turner to CHB and Fritta and Smith to rotate between Laurie's high half forward position and playing deeper. I think this is what I'll go with. McVee May Bowey Salem Smith Lever Langdon Oliver Hunter Petracca TMac Fritta Kozzy JVR ANB Gawn Viney Gus Rivers Sparrow Chandler Melksham Laurie
  22. I think they're also using the forward half to rest/take Trac out of the bang and crash of midfield for a few weeks, and I'd expect him to play heavy midfield minutes in finals.
  23. I'd rather Goody have played a straight bat, because it potentially brings external focus onto Clarry now. If Goody straight bats it, they have nothing to run with. It's done now though.
