I did wonder whether we were going to look to offload another contract in that $500k range, along with Tomlinson, and Hunt's contract nearer to probably $350-400k. Giving Melksham and Hibberd one year deals on small dollars, along with a two year deal for Smith on small dollars, I reckon we're opening up cap space for a very big fish this year or next.

Not sure, but perhaps Smith was much cheaper than Hunt? And offers more versatility? I'd say both Hunt and Smith are more athletes than footballers, so I get where you're coming from, but reckon it's a case of Hunt wanting more money and potentially the extra year, versus Smith needing two years and less money.
