  1. Thanks for that Nugget Jones and HT. More importantly thankyou Schwabby!
  2. From what I read, all you do is ridicule others. I'd pull your head in if I were you. Post something useful for once.
  3. They're not far at all away from decline. Eade was quick to sign after the West Coast Eagles debacle wasn't he!? Bulldogs have Bris, Geel, Coll to come. They will drop out of top 4. Johnno & Aker might be gone. Talk of Lake maybe not happy with $$ on offer at Bulldogs whilst Swans might be there to pick up the pieces, maybe Carlton as well. I reckon we are closer to a Premiership than the Bulldogs if they don't win it this year.
  4. That's bullsh!t. North may have finished top, but it's debatable that they were the best. Just so happens that the best defence usually comes through out on top. As it did with Adelaide who were the arguably the best defence. They thoroughly deserved that Premiership. So North couldn't convert before halftime.....didn't mean they were entitled to win it.
  5. Looks like two changes. Frawley and Grimes in for Jurrah and McKenzie.
  6. What on earth are you on about? Nearly half the voters are clowns are they? Get a grip!
  7. Goes to show from the opening post that 9 teams have received priority picks out of the 16 teams in the comp. The likes of Cats, Crows, Power, Bombers, Kangaroos, Swans and Lions can hold their heads high. Always competitive and tanking is not an option for them!
  8. What....Fremantle & West Coast ecstatic?? They wouldn't give a continental about the Geel v Melb game.
  9. Good post Akum. In regards to Hawthorn though, they might be in trouble now, but they're not a complete aberration as you put it. Yeah, it was the rolling zone that they were well drilled on, but it was their quality players that helped them get there. Hodge, Franklin, Roughead, Lewis, Croad. Guess what...they're all high draft picks.... so whilst you may say that they might not be as relevant. This years pointy end of the draft will yield quality picks that will take Mfc a long way towards success.
  10. You've left out Jetta and Maric who are young and are also forward options.
  11. Need a cut lunch just to read through it all! Noticing Geelong's list. Apart from their starting 22, they have not got a great deal of depth in terms of experience. But, they get by with the experience that's on the field. It will be interesting in 3-4 years time how there list will be. Melbourne's list seems to show how the Footy department is sifting through the developing players and those on the fringe. The list is long in terms of those who have actually 'played'. i think it sends us a picture of where the club is at. Now they have to cut those who they think will not cut it at AFL any longer - who have been given plenty of chances, or are too old/down on form. e.g. D.Bell, M.Whelan, L.Dunn, P.Johnson St.Kilda looks to have alot of depth. They've also got Tom Lynch who has not opened his tally and i rate him.
  12. Maybe this can be on the boards agenda. Get rid of this curse! I hear about this from time to time. Should it be addressed? Or is it just nonsense?
  13. Onya Jimbo! All the best champ. Arise Sir Jim.
  14. Yes. Watts in for Sylvia. May as well he isn't doing anything else on the holidays.
  15. It's not as silly as it might seem to some. Sydney seem to be in a diabolical position. Sydney would definitely be on the lookout for forwards, preferably forwards with experience. They could even be looking at Newton who's not getting a game. They'd definitely have plenty of room under salary cap to entice someone. Hell, even Fevola! Come to think of it - he would be ideal replacement for Sydney. Maybe a Fevola - Robbo combo!
  16. Good info HT but it would be better with columns to make it pleasant reading. List management is so important those lean years of not blooding anyone has certainly taken effect. You can also determine that the last 3 or so years recruiting for melbourne has been on the rise, its just getting games into them. quality picks this year for mids and maybe 1 forward will top it off before gold coast, but over the next few years our recruiting still needs to be very good. You going to do timeline for saints also?
  17. Right now Rich will win. But if Grimes has another 3-4 games like on the weekend and plays the remaining 8 games lookout! He can win. Will be captain in 3 years time barring injury.
  18. Good. Jim, all the best mate. God speed for recovery. Thoughts are Jim and with his family at this time. Hope everything went to plan today for the operation. Let's see you when you get back. Behind the goals champ! Legend.
  19. Wheatley needs to be fitter, if he wants to play at AFL level again. Quiet last week against Willi!
  20. Scully is a lock-in for pick 1. He is pure class, the ultimate professional. Very quick & skilful. Our club has been dying for someone like this to come along. Jack Watts will be a gun too. If we can nab pick 2 and get another star, we're on our way.
  21. NFI. I bet you are one of those supporters who keep knocking the club, even when the side is winning. As if the club will fall apart. It hasn't fallen apart for 151 years. Amateur.
  22. Sign of the times recruiting now. They're more likely to get it right now than 10-15 years ago. Clubs have to get coaching right too. All due respect to Richmond they haven't got things right since '82.
  23. You have got to be kidding. After our snout gets out of the trough in the 2009 draft, we can start winning next year, as far as I'm concerned. That will have been 3 years down at the bottom. We will have netted Morton ,Grimes, Maric, Watts, Blease, Strauss, Bennell and this years hopefully Pick 1, 2 and 18. We haven't even seen Blease & Strauss yet. They haven't developed yet. Another year down the bottom to get pick 4! Next year would drive us mad and hurt the fabric of the club I reckon. By the way you have about 4 threads on this with two of them now Polls, any chance of you using the delete button??
