  1. Smith is such a momentum killer. Fmd. Just awful. At least Oscar can hit a target.
  2. ANB bobbing up for his 2 seconds of fame for the week. I look forward to him doing SFA for the rest of the match.
  3. Every week we have heard from the commentators about Melbourne's "stars". Most clubs would kill for a line of Gawn Viney Oliver Petracca, throw in Salem, AVB as well. We just play such one dimensional football. We aren't getting the most out of these guys.
  4. Borders would likely be open, we'd likely have a GF at the MCG, and we'd likely have gone to 10+ games this year had one government not completely [censored] up quarantine. If the only thing preventing the country from keeping this under control is ensuring anyone with the virus is locked the [censored] up until they are healthy, which appears to be the case outside of Victoria, then there is no reason why we can't be going to the football in round 1 next year. Let's not forget that in mid May we had effectively eradicated the virus from the community and the only people that had it were in hotel rooms. To suggest we can't go to the football in March next year is more an indictment on the government than it is a reflection of the ongoing impact of the virus. Ball is 100% in the government's court now. In fact, getting the AFL up and going is much in the state's best interest at this point and also the country's if we are going to be self sustaining in an isolationist world. You're talking about one of the most lucrative industry's in the country. Bubble football and no crowds next year would pretty much end the AFL. It won't happen. We'll be going to the football in March. I called it prior to this second wave that by end of June we'd be going to the football. We were very very close to that happening. At the time there was no reason to suggest we wouldn't be. At the current trajectory as well all signs point to minimal cases and strong, harsh quarantine measures moving forward. Also Queensland's borders won't stay shut beyond Christmas. It along with the current Victorian shambles will prove to have long term implications on the Federal Labor brand, there will be pushback and crossbench angst once polls come back closer to Christmas. Both still polling well but the fall in support is concerning, politically. It will only keep dropping. I get the feel at this point that Scomo is just letting Qld and Victoria implode.
  5. Both right. Just his tone sounded liked we'd lost.
  6. Can someone tell Petracca we won. Jesus.
  7. Smith on Cameron. I can't handle this.
  8. That GWS player that just had a shot has an abnormally small torso.
  9. never plays well againsy Mummy. Tough battle and match up physically for Max.
  10. every time I see No.44 running towards the ball I have an aneurysm.
  11. ...Greene looked high.
  12. Giants just have way too many winners. If the past 50 years tells us anything it's that our season ends tonight.
  13. Rivers looks good. How long until he is Melbourned and the "What's happened to Rivers?" thread appears?
  14. coast to coast. the melbourne special.
  15. If Smith plays another AFL game I will microwave my membership live on Twitch.
  16. Neither team is playing particularly good "team" football. Lots of individual performances on both teams. The most both teams deserve is 8th.
  17. Lever is a modern day Damien Gasper.
  18. it's actually been a highly entertaining game. i think both teams are playing well but both are also firmly an 8th-12th placed side. Good spectacle so far.
  19. This is the most Melbourne end to a half ever. We're just not mature enough nor have the team chemistry to play consistently throughout a match.
  20. You'd rather OMac kick than Lever. At least OMac hits a target and doesn't put teammatea under pressure.
  21. Trust ANB to completely fluff a fantastic end to end play initiated by May. Ruined our momentum and led to a Giants goal. Take some [censored] ownership. Wasn't going for a goal, panicked and just chucked it on the boot. By chance almost went through.
  22. Richmond was finishing 9th a lot in the 2000s and bottomed out hard before Hardwick arrived. Even then it took 3 years of rebuild 3 years of finals and another poor season before they hit their mark. By the same logic and time we should win the flag in 2021 lol Question is, are we 2016 Richmond or 2009 Richmond? Dangerous for us now to be lingering mid table because Goodwin has dumped our top draft picks. Lose our last two games and we may be potentially gifting North a top 5 pick. But anyway that's beside the point. History shows that teams that linger mid table for too long either stay there long term (North, Essendon) or end up crashing out hard (North again, Freo, Sydney now). Big question as Healy asked the other night: Are we an underperforming team or are we just average?
