  1. She's hardcore Richmond. Zero chance.
  2. It's so easy to predict future performance. if club finishes top 4 = premiership contender if club finish top 6 = top 4 contender if club finishes top 8 = changes needed if club finishes anywhere 9th-10th = not up for it. The prediction analysis is the same every year. Same with ladder predictions.
  3. They've been given an absolute handjob from the league in an attempt to boost the city's economic growth. That they can now lure the likes of Cameron to the club absolutely has to raise some suspicions. Dangerfield, Selwood, Hawkins, and now Cameron all likely to be on $700k+. They're doing something.
  4. I do hate to say it but privatisation may actually be the only true saviour and I suspect Sydney and Hawthorn will be hinting at that in some capacity. In that instance Melbourne would likely be saved given its relatively strong financial independence and history, which presents strong branding opportunities. Dogs appealing from purely an asset perspective. But North would be unable to find a suitor unless it seriously considered relocation. GWS and GC may as well merge at this point, or at least each fold into Sydney and Brisbane, respectively. Brisbane could rename itself to South Queensland or even just Queensland. There was absolutely no need for GWS. At least GC had a strong aussie rules presence via the Sharks. Privatisation would unfortunately lead to the demise of some clubs and a hit to the community but for the longevity of the league it may be necessary. I know some here will disagree and the long term ramifications of Privatisation may not be pretty but it is a deal with the devil that is perhaps inevitable
  5. Norf has screwed us enough over the past 10 or so years, I'd rather not let them do it at the trade table.
  6. If we lose Jack Viney it will be James McDonald x10000. Simply cannot lose him.
  7. it may have something to do with the fact they've missed finals and haven't been home for like 3 months.
  8. Not sure where else to put this. A mate has messaged me saying Tom Browne has claimed Carlton is actively pursuing Petracca because apparently he is unhappy. I called BS given he signed a contract in Feb. Plus search across Twitter, Bigfooty, Google, everywhere has yielded zero results. Nothing on Tom Browne Twitter either. Asked him where he heard it and he's stalling. Is he pulling my chain?
  9. Dogs have been in lockdown mode all game.
  10. I'd have rather they were belted than be this close. Dockers are also being absolutely belted around the ball and the umps give them absolutely nothing. As always umps giving Bulldogs a ride. As they have for 30+ years for some bizarre reason.
  11. he's not wrong. he played his best football at melbourne as a floating flanker.
  12. Nothing against Freo and I think they're on the right track but I can't believe we lost to this mob. We don't deserve finals. Sorry but we had two opportunities to lock us in and we failed miserably. Dogs are in second gear here, Freo genuinely trying but they're just very average.
  13. Okay time for me to log off for the offseason like I always do. See you all next year. Hopefully at the MCG.
  14. Ironic. In 2005, Doggies beat Pies in round 23 and took our place in the top 8. We needed to beat Essendon to make it. During the match the camera kept cutting to Bulldogs players watching the game and subsequently being devastated as we got over the line and pinched their spot in the finals by one game. Fast forward 15 years. We beat Essendon for a spot in the top 8, replacing the Bulldogs. Except this time the Dogs have the chance to leapfrog us and make finals with a win over Freo. Do so and they pinch our spot in the top 8 by one game.
  15. if you're a doctor then no wonder our "expert" advice is so [censored].
  16. he definitely is not underrated. he is arguably amongst the most frustrating players to watch very much BECAUSE he is so highly rated and can do things unbecoming of someone so highly rated.
  17. most of this team would get a walk up start in any top 8 side. indictment on goodwin and co that we will likely miss.
  18. Smith is such a momentum killer. Fmd. Just awful. At least Oscar can hit a target.
  19. ANB bobbing up for his 2 seconds of fame for the week. I look forward to him doing SFA for the rest of the match.
  20. Every week we have heard from the commentators about Melbourne's "stars". Most clubs would kill for a line of Gawn Viney Oliver Petracca, throw in Salem, AVB as well. We just play such one dimensional football. We aren't getting the most out of these guys.
  21. Borders would likely be open, we'd likely have a GF at the MCG, and we'd likely have gone to 10+ games this year had one government not completely [censored] up quarantine. If the only thing preventing the country from keeping this under control is ensuring anyone with the virus is locked the [censored] up until they are healthy, which appears to be the case outside of Victoria, then there is no reason why we can't be going to the football in round 1 next year. Let's not forget that in mid May we had effectively eradicated the virus from the community and the only people that had it were in hotel rooms. To suggest we can't go to the football in March next year is more an indictment on the government than it is a reflection of the ongoing impact of the virus. Ball is 100% in the government's court now. In fact, getting the AFL up and going is much in the state's best interest at this point and also the country's if we are going to be self sustaining in an isolationist world. You're talking about one of the most lucrative industry's in the country. Bubble football and no crowds next year would pretty much end the AFL. It won't happen. We'll be going to the football in March. I called it prior to this second wave that by end of June we'd be going to the football. We were very very close to that happening. At the time there was no reason to suggest we wouldn't be. At the current trajectory as well all signs point to minimal cases and strong, harsh quarantine measures moving forward. Also Queensland's borders won't stay shut beyond Christmas. It along with the current Victorian shambles will prove to have long term implications on the Federal Labor brand, there will be pushback and crossbench angst once polls come back closer to Christmas. Both still polling well but the fall in support is concerning, politically. It will only keep dropping. I get the feel at this point that Scomo is just letting Qld and Victoria implode.
  22. Both right. Just his tone sounded liked we'd lost.
  23. Can someone tell Petracca we won. Jesus.
