  1. 100% If Round 23 2017 didn't open people's eyes, and if the Hawthorn loss in round 4 2018 didn't, if that Swans loss didn't, if that Prelim didn't, if last year didn't, and if this year hasn't opened your eyes... you must be dead!
  2. 4 years into a coaching career and barely holding onto a finals spot with a health list. that's where we were 2 weeks ago. and it's not like these losses are shocking and surprising. goodwin has form and so does this team.
  3. Club isn't live tweeting the presser like they normally do. As someone who works in corp affairs, we call this "risk mitigation". Club is shielding Goodwin and protecting its digital footprint here. Minimising direct commentary on its branded posts. Jungle drums.
  4. I'm [censored] off but unsurprised. Haven't really "loved" the club since the Northey years. Since then it's same old. Lose the unloseable. Choke when the pressure is on. Last two games I've been fairly indifferent. If you couldn't see these loses coming with all the variables + Melbourne just being Melbourne well you're very naive. Not to make excuses but the variables that *could* make you lose a game are piled onto Melbourne at an exponential rate and when coupled with the club's general ability to be all round [censored] at the worst possible times, there wasn't a surer thing in the universe. Mind you three weeks ago we were a 80% chance of making finals based on "modelling". If someone could create a Melbourne model we'd probably achieve the technological singularity such is the sheer complexity of the club's senselessness and ineptness.
  5. Goodwin's coaching capacity is limited to go down to the boundary when the game is on the line to wave his arms around like an autistic seal.
  6. Season on the line. We need to centre it and start taking risks. This is it.
  7. Goodwin is Dean Bailey 2.0. He's lucky he has a decent list. No plan B. Shocking inability to coach to the conditions. Has failed MULTIPLE times in getting the team up for important games. Defensively and tactically inept. A colossal choke occuring here. Gifted an easy draw to finish the season. And choked. Pathetic.
  8. If Pickett can't start kicking those he won't make it. Misses them too often.
  9. we are the easiest team to coach against. camera pans to other coaches and they are animated and directing. pans to Goodwin and he's just sitting there.
  10. I remember a game out at Waverley in the 90s. Rain. Hail. Wind. One of the ad boards on the scoreboard blew away. It was a scoring spectacle. I think we won by 30-40 points. Against Eagles I think. The state of the game at the moment is utterly horrid. And once again we are an indictment on this sport and league.
  11. 7 scoring shots to nothing in 15 minutes of play. I don't care what the conditions are. That's awful.
  12. ANB with the ANB special there.
  13. Goalless quarter under Goodwin number 24 coming up.
  14. You new here?
  15. @Demonland I think we found a new podcast special guest. Might have to bump @binman
  16. Oh well. Common theme under Goodwin. As soon as a team turns it on defensively we just turn into a decisively average team. Nothing has changed in 4 seasons now.
  17. Badly outcoaching Goodwin atm. Knows every move in the book today. A lot of this is on the players too but wow structurally we are awful.
  18. Shocking lazy performance. Wow. Sydney has been good though. Longmire won't let them lose this.
  19. Was Toumpas a mistake?
  20. saints did it more often than we did. both teams played a half-back game and had multiple players playing intercept roles. Our skills were good for the most part today I thought.
  21. First time we've beaten a Brett Ratten coached team since round 22 2007.
  22. Huge win. Did not see that. Goodwin coached well I thought.
  23. This is the longest quarter ever.
  24. Our entire back half has been Premiership calibre.
