We'd outnumber then 10 to 1 just as we did in 2018.

way too rational and logical a situation for any government currently in power in this country.
-
Sparrow has been huge a number of times tonight.
-
Cameron is a huge mismatch for us. Smith has competed okay.
-
Mcdonald is slow and a liability. Melksham is a no brainer in his place.
-
This is what happens when you are 30 up but should be 60 up. The opposition knows they've been gifted an opportunity.
-
Trac has been good in close. Two poor shots on goal and a bad entry undid all his good work but his work inside a big reason why we are so far ahead.
-
Sparrow has been huge

i mean it's definitely not a good sign.

Rivers gotta stop with the inbound handballs direct into Lions traffic.

So who's going to the game on Saturday?
-
I honestly cannot believe the league is considering WA. McGowan is a loose cannon. It should be SA or Queensland imo.
-
Smith reminds me of Frost. Which is not a good thing.
-
That was quite possibly the worst goal we have given up this year.
-
Sorry but why isn't May playing?

What a glorious day to be at the footy...

Good. To be honest I could handle the game being interstate *if* I can be somewhere watching it with other supporters. The thought of being locked in my home watching it and not having anyone to celebrate with is actually my biggest fear. Not being able to go is one thing. Doing it in lockdown is probably the worst possible scenario.

logistically it just can't happen if lockdown is extended. I posted earlier that even a conservative extension to end of August could MAYBE see crowds by the Prelim. But the AFL would rather just create a hub. If lockdowns ends next Thursday and things stay clean for the first [censored] time in 6 months then it is reasonable to assume that crowds at finals may be a possibility by week one. That would be two weeks beyond the end of lockdown. Conservative approach suggests week 2. How utterly devastating for this city to once again have no finals.

MFC player racially abused on social media - club statement
praha replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's a double edged sword. We obviously need to stamp this out. As someone that works in corporate comms and risk mitigation, social media is a very tough cookie for businesses. There is now legal precedent that a business has a duty of care not only to its employees but also to the general public (ie. if someone says something defamatory about a player on a club's Facebook page, the club itself has a weight of legal responsible, should the player ever hold their own club to account). So there's both a PR benefit but also legal benefit and of course anti-racism benefit in all of this. HOWEVER... These are anonymous trolls. They are digital arsonists. They post these comments expecting and WANTING this sort of response. We are effectively tisk tisk'ing and shaking our head at ghosts: they will never be found. And it will never stop unless there is legislation banning anonymity online, which opens a whole new can of worms. So we either ignore and ban the trolls and move on, but open ourselves up to PR, legal, cultural criticism. Or, we call out the troll, tick those boxes, but give the troll what they want. This is not a battle that will be won. And I feel like we are all shaking our heads and saying "rAciSm iS nEvEr oKaY" but we're not actually fighting any real battle here to stop it. And stuck in the middle are poor kids like Kosi who cop it. Meanwhile we post a nice little statement condemning it and move on. The real issue here isn't even racism. It's the platform itself. We asked and we received. -
Finals may well be played in Tassie and Geelong, deev. TBH I can't see finals being played in front of a crowd until at least the Prelims. And finals won't be played in empty stadiums. We won't come out of lockdown until all cases have been insolation for their infectious period. My conservative prediction is August 24. Absolute worst case scenario. That is before the weekend of the pre-finals bye. You have to expect 2-3 weeks after lockdown ends before crowds can return. That puts us in the week leading into Prelims. So it's a tight timeline.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?

Finish Top 4 - Last Time, 2000 -
This was always going to happen. Always to us. Very poor showing.

Poor by Lever there.
-
Watch Kennedy come on and kick 4 goals now.

Melksham is either silky af and a huge impact or his brain fades are enough to have me breaking the tv.
