  1. I'm sorry, but the team we have tonight is still better than Richmond, Hawthorn and the Kangaroos all at full strength. We just have no idea to adapt. No idea whatsoever. Where was the centreline????????????????
  2. i was never looking foward to it either. this season is different that others...we have a bit of consistentcy.
  3. they should all hang their heads in shame. what a disgrace. take your jumpers off. you don't deserve to wear them. these next 3 quarters better justify my membership fees...
  4. THIS IS THE WORST GAME OF FOOTBALL I HAVE EVER SEEN. IN SO MANY YEARS, I HAVE NEVER SEEN A MORE DISGUSTING GAME OF FOOTBALL BY SO CALLED "ATHLETES" THAN I HAVE TONIGHT BRUCE, JOHNSTONE, YZE, DAVEY, PICKETT....WHERE ARE YOU GUYS???????????????????????????????????????????
  5. they literally have no idea what they're doing. wtf is going on...
  6. I'm sorry, and I hate to admit, but in three times the ball has gotten to Goodes, Godfrey has won the contest...
  7. 0-8 in clearences in favour of Sydney Worst game of the season so far. Getting spanked. No accountability, no leadership and no urgency. Playing stupid, rushed and crap football.
  8. I'm sorry, but you guys are a bunch of ignorant fools. They are so right (about the crowd be pathetic). That was an absolutely pathetic crowd. What a joke. I'm not saying any of you are the culprits, but come on, not even the Kangaroos are capable of pulling off a crowd that low. It really is a clear indication of what a lot of our supporters think like.
  9. CHF Dunn F Sylvia Green I don't care where everyone else plays.
  10. right. because a poor pre-season and terrible performances does not warrant an omission. right. who cares about records. i bet that had he not been dropped, he wouldnt have played as good as he did today.
  11. I brought up the idea of "The Curse of Norm" a while back (I think it was under a different username) and I was laughed at by many on this board. The fact is, what Norm created at the MFC was a culture that was probably the best in the league at the time and probably the most prestigious and powerful in the history of the game. With Norm's sacking come a complete turn around and a different culture; a culture that has lingered at the club for 42 years. The way I look at it? Coaching from 52-67 (16 seasons) for 6 premierships including a triple (55,56,57). That's one premiership every 2.5 years. Since then? 40 seasons. 0 premierships. I've always believe that his tenture at the club was what made it so successful, both playing and coaching. Obviously his style was not attractive to his collegues, hence why he was forced out. However, that style and voice was part of 10 premierships over 32 years. He leaves, and the streak begins. We need another Norm.
  12. Everyone would still have Yze in the team, even after Sunday?
  13. He actually talks a lot of useful c*** on Ten, if that's possible. Sometimes the stuff he says is really good.
  14. You'd have to think that had we been atleast 1-2, the number would be about 1k higher, atleast.
  15. And Adam Yze, at this moment, is not worthy of wearing a Melbourne jersey.
  16. It's about quality, not quantity. Bruce has atleast 4 or 5 bad kicks per game. Watch a game by Buckley, or Judd, or Hird, the absolute champions of the game, and try and count how many kicks are off target. 1. or 2 at the most. Most of the time none. Bruce is not in their field, but should have been, and many considered him early on to have the talent to be up there. The way I look at it, Bruce more often than not appears to back out of contests. Watch the game and you'll see it. He is a "give to me player" instead of a "I'll come in and take it" player. That is the complete opposite of what you want in a leader. I was so happy when I saw Macca was captain yesterday. And that's why. He puts his body on the line. Bell does not have the ability that Bruce has, but he has courage and persistance. It's unfortuante that he can't get his hands on the ball. Bruce is too often place besides the great midfielders in the game, because of his high possessions. Nothing gets to me more than when an AFL player earning $500,000 a year has 4 or 5 kicks in a game that spiral all over the place in the air instead of being a normal drop punt. That to me shows a lack of concentration and committment. And lazyniess. Yze is a showpony and nothing more. He always has been. That can be good when you're on song, but when you're not, it's horrendous to watch. He is another Ronnie Burns imo. Can kick some goals and get his hands on the footy, but he tries to be fancy at the most inappropriate times and gives it up too often. Also, his attack at the ball is princess-worthy. He backed out three times from what I remember yesterday. You can't critise people on this board for getting on the backs of players who earn the big bucks, which comes from OUR membership money, but aren't committed to getting the ball the hard way or kicking the ball straight. The reason most board members like Godfrey is because he brings it every week. But when he is in our best, and he is on the fringe of our list and consistently considered the least skillful on the list, it does not say much about players like Davey, Yze and Bruce, our so called leaders and best players, who struggle to have a true influence on the game.
  17. haha i think 100%, which will equate to a loss. Green needs to play FF this week. No ifs about it. But we need to play completely defensive. We have to slow it down and stop Freo from kicking it into an open foward line, otherwise Pavlich and Tarrant will have a field day.
  18. Bate - 1 - Needs to go back to Sandy. Has had a poor 3 games and has had little influence. Bell - 6 - Worked hard, but when the ball comes in as many times as it did... Brown - 3 - So past his day it's not even funny. Bruce - 4.5 - 30 poss. Minimal leadership. Carroll - 3 - Beaten all day. Davey - 0.5 - OK chasing. That's it. No influence. Ferguson - 3.5 - Brings courage but seemed to give up as the day went on. Godfrey - 5.5 - a fearless warrior with no skill. Green - 8 - Should have been playing out of the goal square years ago. Holland - 2 - Makes some dumb decisions in front of goal. Jamar - 0 - Utter dud. And that's an understatement. Johnson - 2 - Marked his man well but didn't do anything else. Johnstone - 5 - got the ball. Did hardly anything with it. Jones - 6 - Work endlessly but still not fast enough. McDonald - 4.5 - Not his day Miller - 6.5 - Leads all day. Still drops marks he should take and can't kick at goal. J. Brown takes 2 steps from outside 50 and kicks it post high. Miller needs a 48 step run up from 40 out and struggles for distance and/or accuracy. Moloney - 5.5 - Best afield after 1 quarter. Did average after that. Ward - 0 - Where the hell was he? Wheatley - 1 - Diddo White - 2.5 - The effect of the ruck rule has never seemed to have had so much influence on White has it did today. Career is nearly over. Yze - 0 - 4 times kicked it to opposition. Is too fancy.
  19. Umm, well say an assistant coach was to be caretaker for the remainder for the season, surely he would get a pay-rise or pay bonus.
  20. Had we done that, the crowd wouldn't have been 5/1 in favour of Geelong supporters at yesterdays game and we'd have more than the innevietble 15,000 next Sunday. They complain, but they also still show up. MFC fans complain, and cry it out at home.
  21. I spoke to Arma for a bit at a function a few years ago and thought he was a really down to earth and approachable guy. It's just unfortuante that, unlike a lot of ex-melb players in the past, he was not able to find his place in the side. He was practically playing behind Robbo, Davey and Yze and my only guess is that WC went after him because of their rather average foward line and retirement of Matera.
  22. ND will coach out the remainder of the season for one reason and one reason only; The MFC can't afford, or does not want too afford, having to pay two people for the one job. If ND is sacked, the remainder of his contract, unless he forfeits it which is doubtful, still has to be payed, as well as the bonuses or salary paid to the caretaker coach. The club is still in debt and can hardly afford to be paying the salary of someone who isn't doing anything.
  23. Yep. I hate having players in my team that actually play to win and be successful, rather than JUST for a paycheque.
