If you're a successful club, players won't want to leave. ATM, we're pretty crap, and all the players who have been at the club for 8 years, if 1 of them bolted for free agency, it probably wouldn't make much of a difference. So either you're a great team and players want to hang around and/or sign with you, or you're a crap club that is rebuilding and it won't make a difference. It is important that players can't leave whenever they wanted. If that was the case, we may as well be renamed to the LA Clippers.

I don't think a sold out game with Sydney is all that to brag about. I mean, if Brisbane was playing on the Gold Coast, they would could a pretty decent crowd. And Blacktown is way more closer to Sydney than GC is to Brisbane.

We've been smashed out of the stoppages since Round 1, 2007.

J. Mac was great I thought. I think our backline is as developed as any other position on the field, in that it's closer to where we want it to be. Our midfield is still growing and our forward line is a shambles. With Rivers, Joel, Garland, Frawley and Warnock down back, our backline can be impenetrable in 3 years if they all improve.

I'd expect someone who has been on these forums as long as you should know that no one jokes on Demonland. In saying that: BRING BACK BROCK!

We literally don't have a player over 6"0 that can lead HARD out of the goal square and take a big, hard, strong, contested mark. How can you even hope to win games when your only real option for goals are midfielders like Sylvia, or running playings like Green and Moloney? Jurrah is great, but you can't build a forward line around him. History has shown that a player of his type can be too inconsistent. Arghh

Terrible game so far. Freo are terrible. We're worse.

I think some of you are forgetting that the siren is just a signal to end the match. A quarter is not officially over until the umpire calls it.

Don't really care if we win or not. I just want our young ones to get plenty of experience. Hopefully it's a rough and tough game and Freo come in all fires blazing. Nice first-up test.

Trengove is at around 150k. I put him in my midfield. Only Melbourne play I've got.

Jetta is the kind of player that would thrive in a swift, fast game plan. Once he gets the ball, he never stops or slows down. Always turns around quick and looks for the immediate option up forward. I think that once we start winning games, getting confidence and implementing a gameplan similar to Port's in 2004 (always moving, always playing on, handballing game play - which I am assuming Bailey is trying to implement), he will be a better player. I am confident he can be a strong Wing-type player.

I'll never forget his first game against Carlton at Optus Oval in 1998. What a debut! Pity injury ruined the next two seasons for him.

I've never rated Bruce as highly as everyone else. I wouldn't care if he left. I definitely overrated Brock (see sig.).

Playing at a big club like Shepp (either one) ain't that bad. He'll get a nice cheque at the end of each game. It's not completely necessary to live there either. He might only go up for the matches every weekend, which is pretty normal for most big country clubs that recruit ex AFL players. Also, a lot of these clubs have people on the boards who own/run their own businesses in town, and often they can give jobs to these high profile recruits. I doubt Robbo would be in a situation like that, but I'm just trying to put into perspective that it ain't all that bad.

Pretty terrible to put that in when we haven't even picked him, no matter how much of a given it is.
