  1. It's...it's...ecto-plasium!
  2. He was just on SEN. Gee whiz some of you are melodramatic. Seemed like his mind was still in it but ultimately his body was slowing down. It was clearly a mutual decision. I think they both knew his time was up.
  3. We signed him after the Dogs let him go. He got 2 more years out of himself after being on the brink of retirement. Being critical of Roos not offering him another contract is silly. Time to move on.
  4. Terlich, Bail, Fitzpatrick, M Jones, McKenzie, Garland, Grimes, Dunn, Howe are all players I expect to either be sacked, traded or sign elsewhere. I have liked Grimes but imo he might seek time at another club. Wouldn't be surprised if Dunn requests a trade. Watts is another who may entertain a trade but I'd like to see him stay.
  5. Hold the phone... The team on top of the ladder has bigger, stronger and more experienced players? ROYAL COMMISSION NOW!
  6. Roos has mentioned effort many, many times over the past few years. His responses last night were nothing we haven't heard before. The only difference is that there's a lot of non-answers in between those damning answers so you all forget it. Many times last year he noted the lack of effort, and he has a few times this year as well
  7. Finals is a KPI, but it isn't assured. 7 wins was a KPI this year but we probably won't reach it. We should all be prepared for a season where we could finish with anywhere between 7 and 12 wins next year. By 2017 finals won't just be a KPI, it'll be an expectation, a necessity. Finals as a goal for 2016 was set merely as a means to have a benchmark to reach for. I think we are still a fair bit off the mark. Look at Hawthorn in 2006. After a few years down the bottom, they ended the season really strong and went into 2007 set for finals. 2016 should be our year to lead into finals. Bulldogs won 7 games last year. Port won 5 (?) before pushing for finals. I think 2015 has been a fantastic year insofar as blooding new talent: - Hogan - Brayshaw - Stretch - Harmes - ANB - VB And then the likes of Kent, Frost and Salem getting another season and pre-season under their belt. Then Viney, McDonald. Our problem still lies in the quality in the 23-30 range. Dunn, Garland, Jones, Watts just don't cut it as high quality players unfortunately, and we need to draft more mature bodies and minds of the VB, Vince type. I think we're closer than a lot think but at the same time, don't underestimate how tight and tough the 5th to 12th range on the ladder is. Really, anyone in that range has a finals-caliber team. It takes 2 or 3 bad games in a season to set you apart from a top 8 spot if you're in that range.
  8. Has cemented his spot in good sides for almost a decade. Got under Hogan's skin for a while there as well. Important piece of Freo's defense, which is the best in the league (although "defense" in the AFL embodies the whole team across the ground).
  9. And he was sprinting. The Freo player was just faster.Bit of advice, Clint: don't listen to Dwayne Russell.
  10. Playing Jetta loose was probably the right call. Our run out of defense was probably the best it's been for a month because of how loose our defenders were. Had they played one on one, with Freo's quick transition we'd have been stitched up because their mids and half-backs would have just cleaned up the crumbs.
  11. How does having Spencer in the squad ahead of Jamar prioritise winning? He hasn't played merely as a means to develop Gawn and Spencer, not necessarily because either makes us better (although Gawn now does). Bring Jamar in. Slot him up forward. Push Hogan up the ground. It's his last game ffs. Give him a send off.
  12. Around the 12,000 mark. There will be 8000 there on the weekend but the club/league will inflate the figure to 12,000.
  13. Shockingly one dimensional. Had nothing to do with the club. Two coaches in Neeld and Roos tried to force defensive accountability onto him and he just couldn't adapt. A great attacking player but that's it. Would have been great for us if we were a good side. A downhill skier of the highest order.
  14. Giants by 10. Goals.
  15. Imo the club should go out with the intention of winning this match and winning well. Best squad possible. We can't undervalue a strong win to end the season. The only sympathetic "in" I can bare is Jamar. Bring back Kent and Brayshaw for ANB and Newton, Jamar in for Spencer. Jones will get up.
  16. I actually think we'll win this week so I'll be there. Lol jk I'll be there but only because pain makes me wet.
  17. It's astonishing how far ahead he is with his kicking. But don't worry. He'll drop off next year. It's the Melbourne way!
  18. No. Melbourne-like would be signing a big deal and then turning out to be the biggest bust in free agent history. For a career-ending injury or other issue to be "Melbourne-like", the player would need to be in the midst of or having just had a career-best season. Think Jakovich, Jurrah, Clark, Tingay, etc etc
  19. Not as many as Vince, Garland, Dunn, Cross missed handball targets.
  20. I thought we played 3 good, not great quarters, which is more than you can say for the past month of games. We were better around the contests and our run and carry was good. Garlett and Hogan worked hard to keep the ball forward but they were just too quick in transition. We could have kept the margin down and lost by only 20-30 but bad errors at pivotal moments by the likes of Jones, Garland, Vince, gave them the ball back and let them go on 3-4 scoring runs.
  21. Hogan - Great second half Salem - Smooth as butter Viney - Our best midfielder Also disagree with Garlett. His best game for a month by far.
  22. I don't disagree with you at all.
  23. Good signing. Had his best season by far and the club seems to be managing him well. His first two seasons would have been awful for anyone's confidence. He's far too talented and skillful to get rid of. It's a psychological thing with him I think. I've never seen a player get so down on themselves after an error. I guess that's what happens when you blood a top 5 pick in a team that loses by 148 points.
  24. He will be kept. We need depth players ahead of him but he'll be kept for that sake.
  25. He was absolutely stuffed. Underdone and not ready but will be better for the run. Gave it a go and seemed confident with the ball even against top opposition even if his disposal was bad at times. At least he doesn't hyperventilate and fluff most of his possessions like some of the team's 100+ gamers. His errors were genuinely a product of him just having zero tank. Give him a break.
