  1. Hogan and Weeds in the same team today would've been good.
  2. Hawthorn reciprocal home game I think.
  3. Disposal has been very good. Poor start to the second but overall our delivery forward has been good
  4. Three times we've centered it, three times they have cut it off
  5. They showed the Oliver hit and then Rioli's shot on goal. No idea what it was for.
  6. Good turnout I think. Hawthorn is 1st. We're out of finals contention.
  7. Yeah, didn't do much last time we played, but popped up in the last quarter and helped them over the line. Would much prefer Cyril being out as well. Hoping he's a late withdrawal.
  8. You have been critical of people say we're a chance. I see that "we need to win" and "we're a chance" have different meanings and interpretations, but you've kind of gone against your own mantra here.
  9. Very much agreed. Would be devastating to our team structure if we lost him.
  10. B: JETTA, FROST, O.MCDONALD HB: MELKSHAM, T.MCDONALD, HIBBERD C: HUNT, N.JONES, PRESTIA HF: BRAYSHAW, HOGAN, PETRACCA F: WATTS, FRANKLIN, KENNEDY FOLL: GAWN, DANGERFIELD, VINEY IC: CYRIL RIOLI, EDDIE BETTS, O'MEARA, TERLICH Like this
  11. We played a fairly ravaged Saints side in 2015, got pounded for most of the game, took the lead and then lost in the dying seconds. Week after we went to Geelong and controlled the game all day. A week is a long time in football. I think a lot of people understate the importance of wins around here. It was a good win last week. GC really aren't that bad. They're no worse even with injuries than a Port or St Kilda. Things change week to week. Any team can beat any other team on any day of the week. If they bring their A-game. Lower teams have less margin for error. If we are 100% on, we still might not win a Hawks team that is 70% on. But if we go above and beyond and force them to play a different style to the one they're used to, you never know. I mean, a pretty [censored] Melbourne side beat an undefeated Essendon side in Round 10 in 2012. Granted Essendon aren't Hawthorn, but anything can happen.
  12. We would still be paying outsider odds even if we're up at 3QT because, well, it's Hawthorn, so I'd be inclined to go against your dream and bet on the Dees.
  13. I'm fairly certain you *can* trade players that are in contract, but most contracts have a clause that the player needs to agree to the destination. Occasionally a fringe player wouldn't have this (say, a Terlich). I'm not sure it's a AFLPA issue. They'd fight to ensure the nature of the contract is honoured, not that the player is shifted somewhere they don't want to go.
  14. One thing I've noticed this year: every time we've been rank outsiders, opposition team fans on BigFooty have called their game against Melbourne a "danger" game. Sydney, Adelaide, WC, Hawks (x2). We got close the first time. We can beat them.
  15. You know what I mean I hope... I mean that Dawes hasn't really been giving us anything, so even if Weeds has a bad day out, at least he's got the experience. Having a Dawes in the team that does nothing isn't really help us in the long run.
  16. I hope Hogan plays. At the end of the day I'd rather Hogan and Weeds have no impact than Hogan and Dawes.
  17. Can confirm it was a third-party, not the club directly. Whether the club engaged them or not is unknown. Generally what happens is that when you input your details for a competition or whatever, these details can be easily accessed and/or sold off to the highest bidder. This is generally how telemarketers get your details.
  18. He's got a little underbite, or is that just me?
  19. On top of that, Essendon was a good team for long patches until the drug saga reeled its head. They were building towards something in 2012, 2013 when it all came crumbling down. Don't blame players for wanting to leave.
  20. They actually spoke about that after we beat Richmond and Collingwood. Caro on Footy Classified (take that as you will) said there were pretty harsh words and a lot of home truths thrown around after the Essendon loss. She said something like, "It really changed how they approach the opponent" or something along those lines. We definitely saw a swing in performance in the month after that. They responded well. If only we played a top 8 team aside from North in that period. They could have really proven themselves.
  21. Hmm, he players taller than he is. At 84 games is another player we add to the pipeline in the 100-game mark. If we're not paying over he'd be a great addition.
