  1. stands to be one of the biggest chokes of all time. geelong set to displace us. 9th again. how heartbreaking. I'm dropping a tier or two next year. i can't justify $600 again.
  2. Drop Jones, Garlett. Play Fritsch forward. Move ANB in the middle, alternate with Trac. Bring in Hibberd, Milshake. Oliver to captain.
  3. hawks have the exposure and class. you can't understate finals experience. we will eventually turn the corner but wholly agree goodwin isn't immune from criticism.
  4. we ignored the short option when it was necessary, but took it when it wasn't. why deliver a short pass when you're running inside 50, directly in front?
  5. Maybe. But we don't know. Goodwin also talks about the team and club taking hold of the opportunity. With Richmond you have a big club with decades of mediocrity. It is very tough to break that and kudos to them because they have done it superbly. Goodwin can be a very good coach. He is 23 wins, 19 losses, which is Daniher levels of good, not great. I am sure he is aware that the gap between good and great is larger than between bad and good. It's clear he is still learning, I think he has improved as a coach a lot as the season has progressed but we have been found out on game day with what I would call perennial losers. I don't think he is the reason we lost today. It was yet another lesson from a team and club with many runs on the board. I agree with him that we're very close "it's not funny" as he said after the Geelong game. Unfortunately, we may need to wait until 2019 to really find that breakthrough. And Goodwin's coaching will be really tested, not in the next two weeks, but in list development and change. He has some tough decisions to make this summer. We're going to see some club favourites moved on.

    Mr Jones

Not good looking. Has been average and a liability. The club and Jones should bite the bullet and go the Deledio route to help us land Gaff. We need some fresh insight and leadership, and I worry when I hear that Oliver and Trac are turning to the likes of Jones and Lewis for leadership. We need a leader that empowers and sets the example, at the moment he is staring down the barrel and it is costing us as a club. We need to continue making hard decisions as a club as we did with Watts.
  7. you shouldn't be disappointed or surprised. some here including myself have known him to be average for years. his lack of defensive accountability is on show in close games against top sides. we should have traded him in 2016 when he was at his peak.
  8. you're truly delusional. you don't lose games like that and factor in september. they were 2 players down and somehow managed to smash us in uncontested possessions. that is inexcusable.
  9. 2 players down and smashing us in uncontested ball. says it all.
  10. yes. he gets the flu every top we play a top 8 side.
  11. they have more disposals, more contested possession, more contested marks, more uncontested marks, more tackles, more clearances, more stoppages. they are 2 players down. we haven't played finals in 11 seasons.
  12. 4.2 to 6.4 that quarter. they are 2 players down. we haven't played finals in 11 seasons.
  13. they are 2 players down. we haven't played finals in 11 seasons.
  14. they are 2 men down. we haven't played finals in 11 seasons.
  15. Jones to a one on one high kick to a midget with Hogan and TMac in the square and crumbers at the front.
  16. we are the kings of coming off our man and leaving a spare.
  17. i picked a bad week to start drinking again.
  18. sorry but this is inexcusable. they are two down and have groups of 4-5 without a melbourne player in sight. our defensive accountability coming out of forward and across the middle is diabolical and not finals worthy if anyone defends Jones and our leadership after today I'll dox them.
  19. lol usual suspects again, 2 minutes in. we haven't played finals in 11 seasons.
  20. if we'd laid even one tackle in the first 10 minutrs of round 23 2017 we might have won. ifs and buts. reality is pretty clear though. we're choking.
  21. yes. they are winning in the midfield and kicking goals. there is a clear correlation between our dropping off in the middle and opposition team's getting a run on. we give so much space and good teams open that up. good teams also know how to counter that through leadership, which was non existent that quarter. it is the usual suspects spudding it up. This has the hawthorn game all over it. huge third quarter.
