  1. Wants v Needs I want us to be absolutely dominant, in-between the Arcs. We can have average keys from there, because the dominant Mid players will hit them lace up anyway. We've got a little way to go still, as we do-not have the best midfield, atmo.
  2. atmo, I want pick 1 in the Mid-Season draft. Because after that draft, we will win many games, and still miss September.
  3. Exactly why Petracca needs a rest with Casey, imo.
  4. Play it out Dees... it's a habit we want.
  5. ... go tSmitty. Who's back, if Oscar is forward ? oh... you main oscar baker. sorry.
  6. I liked the look of him, his run of a couple of years ago. IMO, they're getting his as right as they can, before next week. They want to measure him and Gawn, against the Eagles, when fit. I reckon.
  7. Building up fitness, and then confidence, on top of. He strikes me as a low confidence person. Maybe a bit shy-ish, in a sense ?
  8. That was a turning point for the footy show and it said clearly, that it was about media players, and not about Footy. Sam took two tumbles at the same time, in that show... one was witnessed... and one was on a parallel universe... the subconscious universe of respect lost. All downhill sailing, from that point.
  9. He was certainly a character... & really, I'm glad he started his career with us. I think we should celebrate that fact, and one of the biggest characters in the game.
  10. speed, I think, 'wwsw'. Slow swans, quick Bummers.?
  11. If we are to do that sort of facility, 'g_oto'... then surely the Casey region is the answer. Together with an inner-Melbourne ground at Gosch's Paddock... Casey or Dandenong... preferably around the 'Lunar Drive-in Theatre', plot of land... that will be serviced by an adjacent Cranbourne rail-line Station, and also a RailWay Station on the opposite side of the ground, On the Gippsland Railway line... Stations either side of that plot of land. IMO, one day the AFL will build a Boutique Stadium there... its serviced by arterial roads running right beside this land.. and the Rail lines connect people directly from the regions. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Lunar+Drive-in/@-38.0166605,145.2256334,14z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xac4f4b1cf7f0ee16!8m2!3d-38.0119269!4d145.2331436
  12. From longer distances, I would only go to socialize, with the station in very easy walk distance. Yes. I would not expect to have to catch 2... or 3 other forms of transport, to get to the station, so I could get home after celebrating... that is correct 'dc'. Not everyone is financially well off enough to feel comfortable, spending on Taxi's. that seems such a waste of money. Now for people with kids in tow, etc... even more important that we take an opportunity if we can, to have a building abutting a railway station... especially on a Railway line that connects directly to Frankston, the Cranbourne Demons locations, and the Bairnsdale region and surrounds... let alone the Northern & Sth-Western areas around Melbourne Via Fast-Rail. So Yes 'dc'... I think its very important when a club puts down long-term roots, to have those services right next door... very important.
  13. I think your missing an important point, 'od'. It's not just the players we need to develop... and no doubt one of the main reasons we are always in catch-up mode, within the AFL... Is we don't have the resources financially... and that is because we are stifled without a home-base/social-club facility. This is what will bring membership numbers for a prolonged period to the club, maintaining those memberships during high & low times Via connectivity, "touch" And respectfully, I don't expect our more homelier members who like to sup on their 50Yr old Whiskies, to understand these other types of people... but it's these other types of people, who like the social connections with clubs, and with the team and players. That closeness and club-man-ship, camaraderie. These are the people we want to add onto our supporter base... And this then brings back the hereditary family ties and traditions, which we've lost those past 50Yrs.
  14. agree 'hw'... Its time to find some urgency with Casey for a prolonged period. He should go back and learn to dominate at VFL level... and not get back until the door in front of him, is off its hinges.
  15. Why is that a problem DV8? At a time when carbon is a problem... as is price of Fuel, and of Taxi's... not to mention the congested roads, and closures of car-parking around the grounds... Trains are the Now... & Our Future. For our current and potential supporters of the middle suburbs, and outer suburbs all the way to Cranbourne or Mornington... and for the Bairnsdale Dees... to Bendigo, Ballarat, and even down Geelong way. The governments are trying to dissuade people from driving so much through inner suburban shopping centre's. Trains are the Now and the Future... Especially Fast trains, from the regions of our state. We at Melbourne have to stop thinking just about the inner city members... and look after the masses out there, who would join the Demons, from all around our State. WE must, "stop the leafy cul-de-sac thinking".......... and think more broadly, and more Inclusively. .
  16. You want the station adjoining the building... to get those who are in-between, should i go home now (from work)... or should I drop in to the club, same on match-days. before and after. Every little bit helps, 'dc'. Do you drive to games, or taxi, or tram ??? ... now what about the people who are carrying stuff from the game and with kids, who have to jump on a train and get to say, Pakenham, or Seymour... Or uncle bitters with his handbag full of makeup and trinkets, who has to get to Romsey ?
  17. Imo its a good way to reset the mind. To get the self propelled monkey of their backs.
  18. Having our own home base is most important for our supporters connection to the club/team. this is why a home base is SO important. This is what grows a club and produces fan loyalty and the connection between players and fans and the kids. this is what keeps the players feet on the ground, "earthed". When the team/players win, they spread the joy at the club and receive it back from the supporters. promoting energy for all. When the players are on a losing trot, the emotions they receive from fawning kiddies helps to lift them from wallowing in self pity. All in all its a natural healthy interaction between players with plenty, and supporters with little... It helps to address any imbalances in players focus. Maintaining a Communal feel. Gives them something tangible to fight for (others less fortunate), rather then a self-driven exercise. If your getting beaten up on, sometimes its easier to backaway, than to keep on fighting... but when your fighting for someone else's welfare, it becomes a whole different scene. especially for kiddies and for the more vulnerable. This is what the club has missed since the 60's. ... that communal feel of fighting for a higher reason. $$$$ just don't cut it... without that emotional charge to get through the highs and the Lows... and to keep on going when others give up.
