  1. Darcy Tucker is off West to Freo. I can't believe Balic is still available.
  2. Sydney did not match the bid on Dunkley. He is now a Bulldog along with Collins. Nice get for the Doggies.
  3. Sooo, Collins to the Bullfrogs? They need a key defender.
  4. Sounds pretty happy to have joined us given the quick interview he just gave on SEN. Oliver now on for a chat. Likes Roos, likes the look of the list...
  5. Lovell to the Hawks. Another very early pick there.
  6. I think more that clubs are being cautious with a new system. Richmond were very aggressive with it which is good. Adelaide have just gone Waaaaaaaaay early on Tom Deodee at 17.
  7. Rioli to Richmond. Great selection. I think this is going to be really good value for them.
  8. And Richmond bid again, this time on Hipwood from Brisbane. Making the most of this pick aren't they?
  9. Kennedy for GWS fell to 13. Great result for them.
  10. Curnow to Carlton.
  11. VERY welcome to the club Sam. Here's hoping you enjoy the next decade teaming up with the Hulk.
  12. We've gone very agricultural this year. The Raging Bull and The Weed. Not a bad result at all.
  13. Also, did I tell you the Bombers would go Parish/Francis? Did I? And now GC have gone Ah Chee. We can nab The Weed if we want him.
  14. I notice that Cal's comments on the AFL site on our pick vanished very quickly. Apparently saying it was a huge risk isn't the image the AFL want to give.
  15. Well, we have the Raging Bull. Best of luck to you in playing next year Clayton.
  16. Parish to the bombers. I am not overly thrilled with this result. We get killed by our poor disposal game after game and this kid is a great user.
  17. Oliver it is. Kid better be able to kick straight.
  18. Well, we bid on Mills.
  19. Mine arrived today, but for some reason my Dad's didn't. They were both ordered at the same time.
  20. I don't mind young Gach. He'll take a bit of work, but physically he has everything he needs to make it. As always, bear in mind that rucks generally take a while. Four or five years work and I think we'd have a very handy player.
  21. As far as I know (not the best sources for me, but I do have some) the Bombers have been into Parish, Francis and Curnow for quite a while. Last news I had (a bit out of date atm) was that they were more or less resigned to us taking Parish and were leaning towards Francis and Curnow. I suspect that Twomey is right that if we took Oliver they would snap up the Francis/Parish double, especially given Curnow's trick last week.
  22. My impression of Oliver is that he plays a little like Dangermouse, but we have no way of knowing if he'll ever reach that sort of level or if he'll just be an average bash'n'crash player with ok skills. I regard him as more of a risk than guys like Parish and Francis who have already shown us exactly how they will play when they get into the AFL. I haven't seen enough of him to form any sort of opinion on how good a player he could become. I still prefer the notion of taking Parish at three. The main point in his favour for me is that he meets our specific needs for good decision-making and disposal out of the midfield. Other players have just as much ability, but perhaps don't suit our requirements quite as well. I have no problem with the Weed at seven.
  23. Didn't the explanation of the new bidding system specifically say that you COULD have more picks than spots because you were going to spend them on your point-gathering?
  24. I say Weideman. I don't buy that the Bombers will take him that early, although Curnow isn't doing himself or us any favours right now.
