Just when you thought we may have been implementing cultural change
jnrmac replied to Gorgoroth's topic in Melbourne Demons
We have 100 fitness staff and coaches. Why aren't they there directing things?? Reminds me of a story about our weights training a couple of years ago. Said that the Dee players had no system or supervision but simply wandered in, lifted a few light weights, had a chat and left. No professionalism. Doesn't sound like much has changed. -
And he has had ONE effective kick for the YEAR!

Do we have enough AFL standard players on our list.

Maybe he was joking. -
Clash Jumpers - what were the Hawks wearing tonight?
jnrmac replied to Swooper Northey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Really?? Tell that to the scum and the filth. -
How we dealt with Jurrah was a microcosm of all that is wring with Melbourne. Kid gloves, different set of rules, no accountability, failed to live up to potential, walked out on club.

At what point does this become unacceptable?
jnrmac replied to Striker475's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thats not right. We played man on man football mostly. We abandoned it in the third quarter. Why??? I;ll never know. -
terrible one on one player. Oppn clubs would drag him back to the goal square and it was all over.

Aside from being hopeless when the ball comes in we are uselss when it comes to having a player that can caryy the ball and pinpoint a kick out of our defensive 50. The number of 1m handballs we did yesterday put enormous pressure on the players. This is a real issue when you don't have players being smart enough further up the ground to sense when we have the ball and to make position to receive a kick.. Dumb dumb dumb

This. Garland has lost the plot. One on one disaster.

Heres a positive. GWS 'best' players only scored the following Dreamteam points Whitfield 36 Plowman 24 Patton 15 Scully 47 Greene 49 How Scully escapes scrutiny is beyond me. What a dud.

Give me Daniher any day over Neeld or Bailey. At least he could coach. -
Yep Because our last 8 Round 1 games have been f***** brilliant. We carry so much momentum from the pre season into the regular season. I love round 1. Not

Maybe our own VFL side might help....

Substitute any name you like. We are INCAPABLE of shutting down a hot player. Have been for years.

Ratten piszzed Melbourne off when we gave him his coaching start. Didn't like the way he did it nor the way the poached McLean (altho happy they did) or the way the offered Mark Riley a job while he was coaching at Melbourne. I have grave misgivings about his role in the Kruezer Cup. Ratten can F off. His own club don't want him and neither do I

it wasnt you. they were atrocious. the freo ess game was bizarre. in the first half they were great but the second pathetic. amazing
-
You do know he was injured all of last year don't you...
-
No its not. They continually get beaten in one on one contests. They cannot beat their man. I do not accept that it is the midfield entirely although they are useless as well. We play dumb unaccountable football
-
Our percentage went up by 7% How desperate is that.

jnrmac replied to Striker475's topic in Melbourne Demons
It became unacceptable quite a while ago. -
Does not know how to play man on man football. Is continually beaten when he does get into a one on one situation. Hve been a supporter of Col but I'm done. Our defence is f******d. Garland what has happened?? Used to be a smart footballer under Bailey/ Under Neeld his confidence is shot.

We played man on man for the first half. The maggots tried to kill us. BUt we were competitive. The third quarter we went zone Why? I would like to know. We were crucified by the maggots but we didn't help ourselves and stopped running. We have dumb lazy footballers.

After watching the replay of the Ess game (I know I know) its so blindingly obvious that we stand metres away from our opponents and don't chase them. Watching Ess v Freo last night it was scary how much work we have to do in this area,. I for one want to know WTF we did for 7 months in the off season. Because we weren't ready for rd 1 or 2. In fact we haven't been since 2005 because we haven't won in rd 1 or 2 since 2005. Our team played together for the first time in rd 1. No wonder that had no idea what their teamates were doing. No wonder we had no momentum. We would all be so much happier if we started like a house on fire and faded by rd 10. This crap about 'its a marathon season' is meaningless for us because our season is over by rd 2 every year. Get the team together in the off season and train together in match simulations. FFS it aint that hard. its football. Another pizz poor effort today and we won't get a crowd of 5000 for the rest of the season. What I want to see today?? Man to man football. wear them like a glove. I don't care if it is 4 goals to 3 goals. I want to see a slogfest of effort. If we cna't do that I would rather watch our all our young players and f off the old batards who can't be bothered.
