Well they didn't. McKenzie created an interchange infrigement resulting in a 50m penalty (which reversed the free Jamar won on the wing) 6 months of training to watch that shiite is plain embarrassing.

38 scoring shots to 14. Wow.

Every year I say we have no momentum in the pre-season and we lose round 1. It ain't that F*******g hard. Our 22 today have never played together before and it showed. Brian Royal should be shot. F*** him off completely. Honestly what has he done other than crucify our midfield. Sellar I have been a supporter of but today showed he is useless. 3 kicks and 3 hb's/ Pederson is a spud. Tapscott was hopeless. Watts was a joke, Howe disappeared. Nicho continued on his merry way. Turnover after turnover, Dunn hasn't got a brain. Frawley is a shadow of his AA self. Sylvia produced another insipid effort. No 2nd or 3rd efforts and simply strolled around showing off his biceps. Gillies is a very ordinary footballer who didn't lay one tackle. Jordie is a one trick pony. I fear for the club. The vitriol that has been thrown at it over the past 8 months has been largely accurate. We were pathetic and disgusting.

The coach may be no good but the pea hearts we have playing for this club are embarrassing. They can't get the ball, when they do they turn it over 50% of the time 6 uncontested marks to 3/4 time says. We can't kick the ball. We have dumb player making stupid decisions. When two first gamers show the rest how to attack the ball it is an indictment. The other 20 should simply hang their heads in shame. We have to find somehow 22 players that have an aggressive attack on the footy. They have lost me.

Not trying to gild the lilly. But Port did take the NAB Cup quite seriously according to their fan forum on BF FWIW. And they were favourites to win. Port didn't have Boak, Cassisi, Cornes, Brad Ebert, Gray, Monfries, Pittard and Schulz We didn't have Trengove, Clark, Frawley, Blease, Bail, Grimes, Jones, Dawes, McDonald, Howe, Watts, Jamar, Rodan, Garland, Byrnes, Jordie, Dunn, Toumpas and Viney. They had a better team than us on paper. I agree with you re the midfield but still believe on Sunday we should win it on paper. Its whether they can play together as a unit that I worry about.

Just heard a pre game review on SEN. They are saying big money has been put on Port (BTW I HATE the fact gambling odds are shoved down our throats) but its nonsense. We took an incredibly inexperienced team to Renmark and won the game. Their team wasn't a long way off their best. We have played 9 times at the MCG and won 8. We should win this.

You cant be saying that on pre-season form?
-
The only way to shut them all up is win the bloody game

Nah, if we win they'll say "it was only Port" If we beat Ess the following week they'll say "Its only Ess - they always beat them and they are suffering from the effects of the drug investigation" Who GAF what 'they' think. -
There never funny the second time when you have to explain it!

WE WON A FINAL IN 2006!!!!!!!!!! We have had a lean 6 years but we are not the perennial losers that is portrayed in the media. We don't need our supporters capitulating to that crap as well.

Neitz and Robbo were both average kicks who worked hard to improve. The results were fantastic. Field kicking is usually about ball drop. High ball drops like Cam Bruce are very hit and miss. The other style that is hit and miss are the Nathan Jones 'slam' the ball on the boot. A low ball drop is the most successful. Strauss, Trapper and Judd are masters at it.....

Didn't work for Brad Miller ........

Gee whiz whoda thunk Morton would be mincing around with no intensity?? Spud

Melbourne co-captain Jack Trengove faces biggest test ... of his foot. -
I don't have the stats to hand about games played for Bluey votes but I would bet London to a brick that a number of other players have featured in the top 5 of the b&f and played 16 games or less over the past 10 years. What you aren't giving credence to is the coaching staff ask players to do certain tasks and jobs. The votes they get reflect that. Col clearly doesn't do the stuff he is supposed to (like 2nd and 3rd efforts). His votes would reflect that. So your conclusion about number of games doesn't hold water for me. Edit: 2008 McLean came 2nd in the Bluey having played 14 games. Snap.

If you don't count Sylvia and Davey -
Hey Old Dee A win in rd 1 wil be the tonic you need. Haven't had one since 2005 so the odds are its gonna happen this year!
-
How does an administration let that happen? Surely we have knowledge about other clubs and their fitness levels. How could we have sunk so low and let the lunatics (players) run the asylum? Big question for mine..
-
Really? Hard? Tenth year and he has never finished in the top 5 in the B& F. Tells you what the various footy departments over the year think of his efforts. You want slack? You really do accept mediocrity don't you. Laziest footballer on our list.
