  1. Dawes is much better at fwd pressure than Bennett though and the game has changed since the stay at home fwd.... Bennett today would not be as effective as he was you would think..
  2. Yep we are. Just like Darren Bennett! Dawes was never a great goal scorer. His most in one year I think is 30 - his premiership year. But he is vital to our set up. Competes hard, great fwd pressure, takes a monster defender and has leadership qualities despite the occasional lapse (not sure what happened with Jetta though.....)
  3. As an observation, he was an AA player when he had a good defence around him and a decent midfield (Jamar and Beamer led the league in hit outs to advantage for example). He didn't have a good defence or midfield at the Dees for the past couple of years and at the Hawks he played without their first choice defence or midfield. So maybe he plays OK when he has other good players around him. Wouldn't be the first and often what I say about a lot of players Is found out when he is the focus in defence or attack. IN other words is not that good or reliable.
  4. The How /GWS trade was thrown up at the last minute by GWS and was a bulls*it trade idea to try and stuff up our OOC players - particularly one with some marketing pizzaz. It was never real, was never going to happen at such a late stage and was classic kite flying by that filthy scum-sucking vampire squid called GWS. I hope all of their six OOC guns leave this year to an up and coming club like Melbourne. GWS is a bad idea getting worse. Its a black hole...
  5. Those of you here who bag Dawes should watch his work rate and fwd pressure. It's phenomenal. He was almost a sole fwd last year with no assistance. Yes he doesn't have clean hands but he is vital to our fwd set up and those that don't think so are dreaming. Will be great to watch when he has a team around him this year.
  6. Nah, I know two...
  7. Contracts aren't worth anything these days.....
  8. Good point. This prob also means that the waivers are acritical part of the prosecution case. That is they are highly incriminating as we suspect and that players knew what they were being given. Little chance they can claim they were duped.
  9. It's implausible. The club monitors the number of farts players do. They paid $500-700k for this supplements regime and you think they weren't going to keep records and monitor it? Bulltish. If there are no records then on the balance of probabilities the club is in deep trouble. So are the players.
  10. That's gold...
  11. Well he did chase down Lewis Jetta once so yes he has some cerdentials in that area....
  12. Pretty sure it was TB4. And even if you were right and it was thymosin, its a peptide and a cursory inquiry would suggest that extreme caution should be taken. Not sure howmany players could claim they enquired and what records they could show which would count against them you would think,
  13. They will be stuffed then because Dank was an employee. And if they don't have a paper trail they are stuffed. And if they signed off on payments for the drugs (which they did) then they are stuffed. In short they cannot get away with the duped argument. The laws are not drafted like that because every athlete caught would claim the same. "Wasn't me it was my coach /trainer/doctor etc etc". It has to put the onus on the players.
  14. No one is saying that they had medical approval. Dank certainly isn't a qualified medical practitioner. Given the lax (non-existent?) record keeping how will they be able to say TB4 was approved or otherwise. For the duped theory to work (and I personally think it is highly unlikely) the doctor would have had to: prove he agreed to use of a different substance that he checked the different substance was Ok with ASADAs list that he instructed Dank what was legally permissable that he oversaw the ordering and administration of the substances (difficult given it was carried out off-site) AND that Dank switched the substances without his knowledge or consent. Even then the players have to show they made genuine enquiries about the legality or otherwise ofthe substance The fact they signed waivers for TB4 severely damages their case because anyone could look it up to see that it was banned. Conclusion: there is no way they can claim to have bene duped.
  15. This line that has been perpetuated by the Hird machine is plain nonsense. For the umpteenth time, players are responsible for what goes into their bodies. They didn't check with their doctor and if they did he (somewhat belatedly) says he was concerned over what they were taking and the quantities they were taking. Every Olympian in the world caught doping would blame their coach or doctor. Lance armstrong would blame his coach. IT CAN"T WORK THAT WAY. Players are responsible. Full stop.
  16. True story. Ran into Dunn on my way home yesterday. He was in his car a line of traffic and a motoorcycle was heading up the inside lane. Dunn pulls left to park the car and nearly takes the rider out. I was behind on my bike and pulled up next to him (noticing that his car was battered on the drivers side). Geez mate I said, no wonder your car is battered. To which I copped an earful about motorbike riders blah blah blah.. Hey, you're Lynden Dunn I said.Thats not very friendly to a Demon supporter. He quickly tought better of it and shut his mouth and wound up his window.... I thought he was going to jumper punch me ha ha....
  17. we were competetive in at least 9 games in 2014 (in that we were leading in the last quarter). That needs to improve to 15 games. We will be outclassed by Haw, Swans, Eagles, Geelong and Freo at home. Other than that we should be there abouts in all others which by my reckoning is 15 games. And hopefully we win half of those...so I am going with 8. That will make the season much more enjoyable. BUT we have to win the first game because I am sick and tired of getting excited about the start of the year and having the cra*p kicked out of us in Rd 1.
  18. Carlton are great at discipline. Fevola says hi....
  19. Thats my understanding. And if ASADA win their case and ban players do the AFL get a second crack at Ess? The first was for governance issues and bringing the game into disrepute not for illegal drugs..... Essendon are cooked.
  20. I'd forgotten about that, ANother Melbourne player cursed with bad luck......
  21. I think CLark will struggle. HIs body is pretty fragile even when he is going well. After such a long lay off and with a history of calf and foot injuries he will struggle IMO. As for the mind well its safe to say thats fragile too. Frawley could do well at the Hawks but no-one in their right might would suggest he was worth pick 3...So my view is that its a win,
  22. I think that's wrong. Every athlete caught would claim that and it couldn't work that way. But I still ask why didn't Doc Reid approve everything, and if he did he is as guilty as the players. And why dodn't one player ask his wife, his own doctor, look up the internet etc etc. From what we know not one player made independent enquiries as to what they were being given because: they had all drunk the Hirdy Kool-aid; and, they were trying to get an edge and this was a 'black ops' programme and it was all top secret. They are cooked.
  23. There was a story about a bust up with Todd Viney when he was coaching. Stef was supposedly late to a training session and Todd ripped into him...
