No sympathy for this powerhouse club that prior to the soft cap was spending $300k a week more than Melbourne - $15m a year They tanked after their drug-tainted 2006 flag to get the wooden spoon in 2010, were runner up in 2015 won a flag in 2017 and now back on the bottom of the ladder. People have short memories. Long may it continue

Welcome to Demonland Koltyn Tholstrup
The Rising Star is a BS award Virtually no one nominated after rd 10 has won the award. It was originally the 1st yr player most likely to become a star and somewhere it morphed into a best first year player award. Two different things. Why have an award where over half of the nominations cant win it? Or where a potentially great player is not even nominated because on each particular week some rookie had an outstanding game. And furthermore the suspension to Reid is a joke that he is ineligible. He is head and shoulders above the others.

Kozzie Pickett - 100 games
I think some underestimate how lucky we are to see a player of his calibre, The much lauded Cyril Rioli kicked 40 goals twice in eleven years of AFL. Kozzie has done it twice before he was 21. Last few years 40 goals, 41, 37 and 25 so far this year in 14 games. He is an outstanding talent that will go down as a melbourne great.

"Very sore" Max Gawn in doubt for next Saturday vs Essendon
Just went back and checked the stats. He had zero hitouts in the GF.

Jason Taylor - visionary or overrated
Here's the thing though. They have more info than us. Maybe they were worried about Kozzie going home and needed a plan b? We did go through a long period without any effective small fwds and then in quick time got Bedford, Kozzie, Chandler, Spargo. You never know who will work out and who won't Plus the fact that KPP recruiting is fraught with uncertainty. They are few and far between and take time. Its definitely a moving target and you only have certain tools to work with - ie draft picks, trade currency, salary cap etc.

Jason Taylor - visionary or overrated
Like Jack Darling where the rumours about his nocturnal activities were in overdrive pre-draft

Didnt we get smashed last year because of their two talls? I recall it was gather round and they pumped us when we were Ok and they were bad. Oh and they have added Goldstein since then.

Jake Melksham returning
Well, you get moments like when McVee left a ball that he thought Lever was going to mark. Lever didn't get near it and the WCE player to essentially an uncontested mark 15m out from goal.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs West Coast
Our pressure in the 1st qtr was over 200. Eagles were 190+ Yet our ball movement was outstanding and set up a good win. That was a highlight for me. Loved our young guys leading the way. Kolt, Riv, JVR, Kozzie, Windsor, AMW were terrific Salem looked like the Salem of old Fritsch even laid a couple of tackles that stuck! Melk adds a huge amount of football nous and sharpness to our fwd set up. Some of his laser passes were incredible. And his leaping showed that his knees are all good. I have a watching brief on May. Can't seem to bend down and his decision making at times is well off his best. I hope its temporary. The fact we had no one on the goal line when Ryan I think it was kicked a long range banana that barely made it through was particularly infuriating. And Jack Viney, as much as I love him, has a bad habit of bombing the ball long into our fwd line (and ignoring short hit up kicks in the process) that were mostly intercepted However it was one of the more stress free days at the foot for me in the end.More of that please.

ANB regularly gets the ball and if a player is near him or tackles him will go to ground to force a stoppage Every single week he does that We have been coached for years to create a stoppage rather than turn the ball over. Particularly late in games. That's what he did He tried to make this one look like he was tripped

We result failed to stop their chip possession game in the end. From the back half they kept chipping, forcing us to man up and wear ourselves out defending. They were then able to keep moving the ball quickly into their fwd line all night. We knew they'd play that way but we couldn't stop it. Great effort from the boys Disgraceful importing yet again. AFl got what they wanted
