A first rounder for Gus. In a heartbeat. I like Gus but you have to keep the list turning over to get quality.

Anyone with a modicum of knowledge about the operation Hoges underwent would have known that Hogan was going to be missing for at least 4-6 weeks. I detailed info re the operation early on as told to me by a surgeon and a quick google search of the op would confirm the timeline. People might repeat what they have heard but he was never going to play on QB

I am curious what Kent's role back at Casey. It doesn't look like goal kicking is part of his remit. Kent kicked 0 goals in Rd 7, 2 goals in Rd 8 and 0 goals in Rd 9. He has had 13 tackles in 3 weeks. The reports say that is winning the ball around stoppages and providing pressure - something he wasn't doing at senior level. I'd be interested in someone who has watched him can report. IMO the most frustrating player on our list. Has all the talent but has been next to useless, Plapp's reports Rd 7 v Coburg Dean Kent: He had 25 disposals, seven inside 50s and five tackles. Dean was a pretty prolific ball-winner for us on the weekend. He was used in a number of different roles and was able to use his power and speed, particularly around stoppages. He was able to get the ball going forward for us, but probably wasted a couple of opportunities in front of goal – and he’s shown us that he’s able to kick goals. Kenty showed some pretty positive signs on the weekend Rd 8 v Coll Dean Kent: Dean had 22 disposals, including 10 contested possessions, six tackles, five inside 50s and kicked 2.1. He continues to build. His ability to put the opposition under pressure was a highlight on the weekend, particularly his tackling. His ability to go and win the ball and find the ball was quite prominent. He missed a couple of opportunities, but we think his game is in pretty good shape at the moment. He’s got some clear areas that he’s working on, but he’s certainly building. Rd 9 v Footscray Dean Kent: He had 27 disposals, including 10 contested possessions, two tackles and six inside 50s. Dean continues to play at a consistent level in the VFL. I thought his work around the contest and his ability to really open the ground up with his leg speed was a highlight for him. He’s in a pretty good space at the moment.

Kennedy was already out

Great to hear. The club is on the right path these days...

I used to work nearby. It gets painted over every week or so. I think there is a tacit agreement that art must be up at least a week. Sometime it stays longer but this one seems to occupy a fair anmount of wall real estate so my start to get chopped up quicker......

Maybe if we make a song and dance in the media beforehand they will wilt under the spotlight??

We nearly beat them last year. Lost by 6 and we didn't score a goal in the last quarter. Had then on toast. We should equip ourselves well and I am going for the win

Melbourne has around 13 or 14 players in the HOF already. I would say that's what's keeping out Neitz and Lyon etc...

Not the Hall of Shame....

Last week against Geelong the Weagles had 5 players over 190cm. Vardy 200, McKenzie 197, Schofield 196, McGovern 195, Barass 194, Darling 191 We have Watts 196, Gawn 208, Frost 194, TMac 194, OMac 196, Pederson 193 Last year we should have won the game against WCE at Domain. In the tall contests we got beaten physically rather than by pure height. The Eagles trailed at every change, conceded 66 inside 50s to 37,and 20 scores to 16 but hung on to win, 10.6 (66) to 8.12 (60). We failed to score a goal in the last. It was a wet night. Kennedy beat OMac in a number of one on ones kicking 3 goals. We are a different outfit this year and the WCE aren't playing particularly well. We won't be overly tall. Maybe Goody might try something like a fwd line of Watts, Pedo, Garlett, Harmes, Hannan and Bugg with Petracca and Bernie spending more time in the midfield. That would leave TMac to head back.

Yep. Was just giving the dimensions. Don't panic

Congrats to Simon who has been elevated into the HOF tonight. Well deserved. Goodwin enters AFL Hall of Fame

Sublaco is 15m longer than the MCG and 19m narrower

He is the one player from Casey I am most excited to see in action. I like the way his brother plays and think we might have something here...

Jones and Watts will both play is my prediction. Jones looked like a corky in the collision with Lin Jong and Watts had a little hammy tightness - said he was fine. Gawn to replace ANB and Stretch to replace Harmes who looked shot. And certainly Stretch if Hunt doesn't come up.

We were very inconsistent under ND. Finals one year bottom four the next kind of thing. I liked Daniher but he did play favourites with Jeff White, Cam Bruce Brad Green Robbo and Yze. Some of them didn't deserve games near the end of their careers and he didn't blood enough younger players. Not quite Ross Lyon but that's my take.

Who cares about the media? Let's just keep winning. The media will turn on you very quickly when something goes rotten so lets not hang out for some kind of parental approval from the doorknobs in the media. We are coming from a long way back. I want to be a hated team because we are winning in a ruthless manner.

Stringer is a golf spelled backwards (see if that beats the auto-censor)

Especially when considering Salem copped a week.

You are right. that was the intention but of course like most things AFL they change the rules on the fly and they don't think of the consequences. Kind of what I was alluding to in the OP. They changed the rules without thinking things through and we got an abnormal result. It may be just that - abnormal - and this year teams will manage it better. It did make for a better finals series as teams weren't half dead just trying to make finals.

Selwood free to play. FFS that is really poor after Salem was done for the same thing.
