  1. Oh, so being incredibly stupid is against AFL rules now. And punishable by a mandatory 6 week penalty according to Mauriesy. You can start by giving yourself 6 weeks off the boards if that's the case And Saint Houli wasn't "incredibly stupid" just unlucky? Whats the penalty for unlucky?
  2. You are kidding. We could have been 8 goals down at the 20 min mark of the 1st quarter. The fact the Swans kicked badly is not a reflection on the strength of our defence.
  3. Yep true. After watching footy for over 40 years that would be my view. But to disagree you are saying Bugg intentially set out to hit Mills? Really? Cmon you know thats garbage, they were both moving towards the pack on the boundary because a kick-in was taking place when Mills instigated contact. Bugg lashed out. That's not doesn't show intention from Bugg and you would be disinegnous to suggest otherwise.
  4. Means a lot to be perceived as a 'good bloke'. Judd has a very questionable record - don't forget his elbow to the face of Pavlich - not even a report yet large gash on Pav's cheek.
  5. FFS no one is defending Bugg's hit. It's all about the 2nd highlighted point. The questions of degree are all about intention and 'deliberateness'. Bugg IMO did not intend to knock Mills out - he didn't in any case - he clearly lashed out in a push and shove situation. Wrong and dumb. But not intentional or deliberate. The tribunal on the other hand is a desperate joke and has no consistency whatsoever. If it did Cotchin would have got 3 weeks for his 'jumper punch' (like that is some kind of fake punch or something) Houli took a look at Lamb and then swung around with a fist and hit Lamb in the head knocking him out. The media hullabaloo about Bugg (the person) was insane compared to Houli - who appears to be some kind of a Saint. There was even an article in the HSun saying that because Bugg has been up at the tribunal as a DEFENDENT many times that he somehow deserved a bigger punishment. That is pure madness and shows how the world has ganged up on Bugg. He is a 24yo who did a dumb thing. I feel for Bugg.
  6. Cameron Schwab was CEO at 24 I believe. Look how well that turned out.
  7. Joining the club of people making things up here? Really? It is clear that Houli knocked Jed Lamb out. Did Bugg do that? No. Visible evidence and outcome 4 weeks. Bugg 6 weeks.
  8. We are usually weak when it comes to fronting the tribunal and mounting a defence based on precedence and other factors. The only case that comes to memory where we have stood up is the Viney appeal.
  9. Are you in a reality distortion field? Who is painting Bugg as a hero? Nearly everyone says he was incredibly stupid for what he did.
  10. Spare us the sanctimony
  11. Moronic. Even murderers get a defence.
  12. Carloton's extensive Injury List: Alex Silvagni Knee 1 week Tom Williamson Back 1 week Ed Curnow Larynx 4 weeks Jed Lamb...
  13. I wonder why?
  14. Hope we never use Findlay again as a player advocate.
  15. Premeditated? Inventing alternative facts now. This is a farce. Bugg should be hung and have his nose hairs plucked out with pliers.
  16. This is what you said "Sorry, but I can't rationalise, compromise, legitimise, sanitise or minimise Bugg's action" I am not doing anything of the sort. I am comparing it and stand by my comment that its no worse than Houli's actions. So there.
  17. Wow this is just a terrible post. 1. "There's not a huge different between what Bugg did to what Fahour did" and "Bugg's incident was worse" Are you for real? Fahour ran 25m and coward punched the bloke. Bugg was bumped and pushed and lashed out. I'm not condoning it or excusing it but there is a world of difference and I am shocked you can't see that 2. Fahour is the AFLs community engagement officer. It is untenable that the AFL have not yet said anything about the punch nor is it tenable that he keeps his job. He is not a clerk in the AFLs payment department.
  18. They were in meltdown over the penalty, not Houli, and that is a big difference. FFS Houli will get knighted for services to football such has been the fawning over his 'character' and 'references' while Bugg has been made out to be Jack the Ripper. Bugg has been friendless, even from the majority on here it would seem.
  19. No one is asking you to. But IMO its no worse than Houli. Houli just didn't have media hyenas clawing at his carcas.
  20. I get your point but we are talking about someone who works for the AFL in a community role.....
  21. So the AFL have said they will wait until the outcome of the tribunal before making comment. How is that for a cop out. WTF is a local footy tribunal gong to make any difference to what the AFL do about their employee? They need to make a stand. For the record this is way different to TBugg. This Fahour guy has run 25m and coward punched an unsuspecting player who is very lucky he is not worse. Fahour has form having been suspended before and been involved in a very unsavoury incident in 2012 where he left the playing field to become involvedf in a brawl between spectators (including a relative of his). He also was involved in another unsavoury incident where he and Jason Mifsud (the National Community Engagement Manager - wtf do we need these leeches?) reported on Matt Rendell's comments regarding indiginous players. The AFL for all of their bluster look very weak for not saying a word before now.
  22. It was Mifsud. But Fahour and Mifsud were the guys that tipped Matt Rendell into it over some innocuous comments and he was thrown out of a job never to return I think.
