  1. Good team footy. Lovely kick sparrow
  2. I don't see Brisbane as having quick ball movement. They're very slow and methodical coming from their d50 to minimise turnovers. Happy to kick to a contest where their talls come up from the Fwd line. Its then they try to go quickly and they get quite a few goals over the back.
  3. Halfway there
  4. Game over at half time
  5. Geelong out in straight sets. Mentally and physically cooked.
  6. I've always loved Donlan Chamberlain and FLeer. My favourite umpires in the whole world (in case they are reading...)
  7. No idea. There was an aricle on Fox footy about it. It doesn' t mean anything of itself. It simply looks at the numbers. It doesn't claim there is bias or otherwise. Just presenting facts.

  9. In the past 5 years, Geelong have never lost a game when either Andrew Stephens (12 games) or Nathan Willamson (10 games) have officiated. In 11 Brisbane games Simon Meredith has umpired, the Lions have had a 72.7% winning rate. Melbourne boasts its strongest winning percentage when Andrew Stephens is officiating, winning 76.9% of games. The Dees have won 68.8% with Ray Chamberlain GWS have a winning % of 80 with Dean Margetts. The dogs have a 72.7% winning rate with Chris Donlon Port Adelaide win 90% with Leigh Haussen umpiring but only 36.4% with Jeff Dalgleish. Power have won 66.7% of their games when Ray Chamberlain had the whistle. Sydney has won 80% of their games under either Hayden Gavine and Andre Gianfagna. * These stats are for the last 5 years with a minimum 10 games umpired. No mention of West Coast and Margetts! 10. What happened that year.....
  11. Kozzie seemed to be pressuring Rich a lot in the rd 12 game when I watced the replay ...not sure if he was actually playing on him tho...
  12. I recall in 2000 when Daniher and everyone went gaga when Woey won the brownlow. I think it upset us that week and we were happy to be participating in a GF. We aren't there yet but I sense these boys are a lot more grounded and will park their exceptional awards and re-focus very quickly on the work to be done. Go Dees
  13. So the players nominated Bowey and not Jordon? ( I assume Jordon was considered a 1st year player?) That says something about our man Bowser
  14. I guess they should have never appointed a coach on his 'L PLates' Looking at you Chris Judd.
  15. He's still getting over the loss of OMac
  16. Yes but they haven't played any top sides. Its misleading. They were a high scoring side when they played us and we held them to 75 points - wth accurate kcking of 11g 9b We hit the post 4 times that game as well which would likely have changed the result significantly had normal statistical results occurred. So yes they can sore heavily from multiple avenues but there is a caveat.
  17. Not that I;d know but I looked the Mac Andrew highlights and there was nothing that excited me at all. He would be a speculative pick at best whereas Laurie is someone they gave up a first rounder to get. And if you listen to Jason Tayor, he and Bowie were the two best kicks in the draft from last year So there is zero chance they would give up Laurie for Andrew IMO.
  18. Didn't Gold Coast give pick 2 for Lachie Weller? Some footy dept's are on turps.
  19. You'd trade out Bailey Laurie? Our 2nd pick from last year? Far out there are some ridiculous things said on htis site
  20. We have Tomlinson.....
  21. It was his birthday apparently....
  22. I understand what you are saying Its clear last week that we went with a plan for May on Hawkins, Petty on Cameron and Smith on Rohan. Against West Coast Melksham came in to play on McGovern
  23. He left without paying the c$350k balance of his $2.5m 'donation' He dobbed us into the AFL for salary cap rorting. The League proceeded to fine the club $600,000 (of which $250,000 was suspended), and the club lost its 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks at the national draft for two years. 6 players received tax audits People wonder why Melbourne had no decent players in the 26-30 yo category during our prolonged poor period - there's your reason. Also why we have to appoint the youngest ever Captain and Jack Grimes as we have no senior players to speak of. As far as I am concerned Gutnick can fall off the face of the earth never to be seen or heard of again.
  24. Agree with last line but I think we have also selected for oppo teams as well. They brought in Melk to play defensive fwd on McGovern. They brought in Smith to play on Rohan Rich was pressured by Kosi last time, Bowie could take Bailey. No Hipwood is a bonus. Bris like to maintain possession in their defnce (like Geelong) and bring the ball out slowly (ie no turnovers). Then they are happy to go down the line and let their talls contest in the air. With their talls playing higher up the ground they get a lot of running goals out the back. They are a high scoring side with lots of different goalkickers but haven't played the best teams in the last 8 rounds. I think we'll go well.
