  1. V good summary. Would add that we went back to the 'Bees to the honeypot' style where the ball would come out of a contest and they would pick it off. Very disappointing game. first half was the lowest pressure rating we have had all year.
  2. 'Hate' That is pathetic. Players above criticism now? Nearly every time Petty goes near a contest he panics. I get he's young but he's had 4 bad games in a row. Makes some dumb decisions and it seems to me he is over thinking things. Needs to play more on instinct. Himmleberg may not have kicked a lot of goals but Petty was in a lot of contests where the ball wasn't killed and their players did what they liked.
  3. Petty and pickett 4 bad games in a row. Oliver 3 terrible qtrs Petracca FFS stop drinking your bathwater Selection table terrible Viney, go back and find some form and fitness Brayshaw a nightmare Our first 2qtrs pressure was our lowest for the year. Unacceptable. Why can't Goodwin get them up for the start of games? Been a problem for a long while now. You know within 10m if they are switched on. Geez they are a hard team to follow. They test your loyalty every farkling week
  4. How is that not 50m
  5. Brayshaw useless
  6. What a useless farkkling midfield
  7. Salem missed tackle cost us that goal
  8. Missing in action Kozzie Viney Hunt Brayshaw And the entire midfield
  9. Out marked Outrun The signs are everywhere Wake the [censored] up Melbourne
  10. Petracca twice has kicked back into the corridor fm defence for two shots at goal to GWS
  11. When will these maggots learn the rules. The protected area is a10m semi circle around the player kicking. The giants were 5m from mcdonald when he was kicking for goal
  12. Our pressure is pathetic. They want it more
  13. Thursday night games a re seen as preferable to Friday apparently - bigger viewing audience.
  14. Last week GWS were playing for a spot in the 8 and were beaten by the 17th placed Hawthorn. They weren't too incentivised it seems.
  15. 2 weeks ago the giants smashed Carlton..... just sayin....
  16. Essendon were the 2nd highest scoring team so the game plan was to nullify that strength. One thing that seems to becoming more apparent is that the coaching panel are analysing teams strengths and playing to stop their strengths. Our fwd 'connection' is almost secondary. Gus in his podcast pointed to the fact we held Ess to 57pts and what an achievement that was. Similarly we dismantled the Bulldogs game plan, Richmonds game plan and Geelongs game plan. GWS have good skills, don't turn the ball over very often but can be lazy on team defence. They have a solid midfield Group including Taranto, Kelly, Hopper, Whitfield etc. Whitfield gains lots of metres for them and if we can stop him and Greene we go a long way to beating them. Goodwin clearly think our speedy forward line is the right way to go....
  17. GWS lost to Hawthorn and drew with North in the past 3 weeks. The two bottom sides on the ladder. They are not travelling well.
  18. There haven't been multiple consecutive games in the VFL. Its a farce
  19. Just turned in the Rich v Gold Coast game and what colour do you think they umpires are wearing? Black and Yellow. The AFL are dead set peanuts.
  20. Are the lights good enough there? I seem to recall the training lights were ordinary..
  21. I recall many players poking the ball with their foot and withdrawing it before it crosses the line. It was always adjudicated that way when I grew up playing football. It doesn't appear to be in the rules now and I don't know when it was removed (or of indeed it was ever there) but I clearly remember that's how it was umpired. Your foot was not allowed to be connected to the ball when it crossed the line.
  22. That's how it has ALWAYS been adjudicated. That goal annoyed me no end.
  23. I'm tipping there won't be many replies to the Giants thread. Maybe substitute a picture of tumbleweeds at Giant Stadium....
  24. Good article here about Jason Taylor... https://www.afl.com.au/news/65216/the-behind-the-scenes-guy-who-rebuilt-the-dees Best mates with Bevo... Was on the match committee with Choco for 3 straight flags at Sandy. Was installing Air conditioning at Derek Hine's house (recruiting mgr for Collingwood) and asked him to help with his preso for the St Kilda recruiting job.. He's done well has Jason...
  25. Its not that its technical, its that the AFL in typical fashion are over sealous to begin with , then it fades and players take advantage, then they pluck it out of their wazoo and everyone says WTF? It then becomes rule of the week again etc. Last year they were on to it like a seagull in a hot chip then everyone forgot about it. Just like the standing the mark rule. Players are standing 5-10 m to the side of the actual mark to try and coral the player with the ball into the pocket etc. Thats not how it was officiated at the beginning. The attempted kick of harmes was let go as it was twice against us in the first qtr. But then they pay it randomly. Then there was the goal of Jones where his foot was clearly over the line. When I grew up that was a point every day. The rule has never been changed but there you go. Or pushing in the back when a player is kicking the ball. They let that go 5 times out of 10 but then bam it gets paid like it was to Spargo. Its infuriating. No wonder people and players get frustrated.
