if your not happy with the spencer stats how about this: According to your theory Jones(78%) is a better disposer of the footy than Mclean(74%) and Green(67%). Not to mention Frawley(82%) and Buckley(87%) being in the top 5 efficiency ratings in our team. laughable stats. Let's not stop there. When you think of the best kicks in the league, lets say Hodge(70%), GIlbee (61%), GOddard(62%) Stevie Johnson(59%) Nathan Brown (56%) Bryce Gibbs (67%) Dustin Fletcher (71%), Mcleod (70%) and Griffen(70%). These players, regarded as being silky and/or great disposers of the footy must be worse than Rhys Palmer(73%), C.Ling(88%), Cameron CLoke (81%), Swan(82%), Stanton(81%) and Jobe Watson(72%). If your going to take Mortons 80% stat on its merits and refuse to see how the stat is bull dust, then all of these stats are true and reflective as well.

so jake spencer is a better disposer of the footy than green according to your theory. he got a efficiency of 75% compared to greens 67%..spencer is also a better kick than mclean who had a 74% disposal efficiency. just proved your theory wrong and how efficiency ratings are ambigious. don't argue with the master, you'll just get found out

exactly...davey should never have been moved in the first place. why the hell would a player who has the best goal sense in the team be moved? its idiotic. Same thing happened to Dunn yet people wonder why he hasn't made the next step.

okay answer me this. how many of those kicks went over 35metres? How many of those kicks did he do while under any token pressure? How many of those kicks went inside the corridor, how many of those kicks hit a target inside 50m and how many of those kicks were low, spearing, finger breaking, high risk passes that the elite so often pull off? Disposal efficiency is the most misleading stat in the game. For the kicks that Morton was attempting, uncontested, short floaters..he shouldn't be missing ANY kicks. NOT 1!

No, i'm not going feral because is the worst player to pull on a demons jumper (other than jamie shanahan). i'm feral because some posters are so biased and blind that they think Miller is a fractionally below average player when he is just so much worse than that. 95% people on here just have no idea what it takes to be a good player. Miller looks great sure, big frame etc..but his game is equally as unimpressive. Also, most people were on here saying how bad Leigh Harding was and that they cant believe the 'Harding hack' is still playing. Yet i was the one who stated that Harding had the potential to tear us apart. Looks like i was right again...where did all those amateurs go? The sooner the m.f.c make me their recruiting manager the earlier we will win a flag

i dont know what game of footy you were watching but Jetta was not all that great. He got chased down with a lack of awareness, not to mention kicking it on the full twice. Definitely has plenty of work to do And where are all of those 'Morton is such a great kick' people? i sure cant see them now. i wonder what they were thinking when Morton kicked a simple 20metre pass on the full.

thanks for highlighting my point. you could only mention 1 decent game in his whole career. why are people so surprised when Millers name comes under scrutiny? He is cr@p. It's all well and good to provide a target but if you cant dispose of it properly or make a semi-decent decision than its better to provide no target at all and just kick it long...atleast you turn it over in our forward 50 instead of miller turning it over on the wing.

are you bloody serious? knee jerk reaction? i have said he is hopeless since day 1. you highlighted his best..the problem is, he plays at his best once in a blue moon. most games he wont kick more than 1 goal or get over 10 touches. would prefer to play 1 player down

the rucks are irrelevent. so an over-rated aspect of our game. Hawks have the worst ruckmen going around and West coast have the best, yet one came 1st and one came 15th last year. 20 hitouts per game that dont go to advantage doesnt have much of an impact

we need to bottom out again this year anyway to give us a chance to rebuild so i dont really care about the predictions. i want us to improve without getting the wins

strauss is out for several weeks with an ankle injury. its pointless at guessing what our round 1 lineup is going to be because of all the injuries we have but i think cheney is going to debut for sure.

i don't for the life of me know how you managed to miss stevie johnson from geelongs forwards. He is their best forward.

Do rate: Dunn, Watts (soley because he was a no.1 pick), Davey, Sylvia, Bate, Wonaeamirri. Watts and maybe Newton would be the only ones capable of holding down a key role in the future. Miller is just there to kill time until Watts is ready or until the coaching staff get a brain

I never said anyone was perfect, but once again you have missed the point. PLayers like Hodge, Hunt, Dal etc..go for a lot more on their kicks. they take more risks often trying to thread the eye of a needle. Sure they will make some mistakes but a Morton mistake (missing a target that is 20 metres clear on his own, under no pressure) compared to a Hodge, Hunt mistake where the player is 55metres away, on the run, with an opponent on his tail is so much worse. At this point in time, Morton has played 1 season of disgraceful kicking. Until he shows otherwise in a home and away season, on a regular basis then he cant be considered a good kick. And the point being on a regular basis! None of this 'remember the time when Morton hit a target against the kangaroos back in round 4?' bullcr@p. Morton should not have missed 1 target last year, he goes for nothing on his kicks, with a massive margin for error. And jsut when you think he might actually hit a target, he kicks it into the man on the mark. Another problem of his!

umm yeh because petterd is a more skilful player IMO.

yeh alot of ppl here do have the blinkers on and are so biased with young players that they need someone like me to give them a reality check. There are several young players that I do rate though, namely Dunn(if used up forward), petterd, maric, stef martin (kicking is crap but he doesnt get too many kicks anyway) and garland (just got on his bandwagon).

how old are you jacktheripper. i already said that frawley, jones and bate haven't improved their kicking all that much depiste being in the afl system a couple of years. there goes ur theory. get with the program. Question is: Who has an awkward kicking action yet is classified as an elite kick in the competition? If you can name 1 player in the league then i'll pay it..but simple thing is. if you dont have a good kicking action, you will never get into that elite category.
