  1. 2 words - Scully, Butcher. Nothing else to add except that if our Coach thinks these guys are it. Then why doubt ppl who are in a better position to make the call
  2. Fellow supporters, The appointment of Tim Harrington needs to be looked at as a sign that the Dees are expecting to be finishing bottom of the ladder. You will find that the introduction to Tim also coincides with the introduction of the GC17 team and their poaching ability that they have been provided. The Dees know that they will have strong negotiating power and may have the players that GC are looking for? This is very much a strategic move and something that the club is worried about. With the likes of guys such as Miller, Bail, Spencer and Petterd whom has already been targetted I believe the Dees see this as an exceptional time to get greater than market value for players we could possibly replace. Petterd must be resigned by us immediately. He will be great. However. I do believe that Gold Coast will want to make an immdeiate impact and hence will trade their priority pick for established players. The Dees would see this as the perfect time to capitalise and to further stock the shed with young guns. They will try to establish themselves not just for the next 5 years but for the next 10yrs and onwards. This is a very special step and one that has made the clubs intentions clear on what needs to be performed to be one of the strongest clubs in the AFL. They are starting to think like a business and not like a struggler Your thoughts
  3. I would have thought that at $7.50 the odds are quite short. However I must admit I dont bet ofter... In your opinion would it be worth throwing a $50 on it or perhaps a $100? I know that everyone is saying thats what we did in the NAB cup does not represent anything in correlation to the season proper but I think they played well and just ran out of legs against the Buillies after having to work their ass off in the terential rain the previus week. Hawks - They should have won Sydney - They were in a position to win all the way thru the game Brisbane - Beat comprehensively Bulldogs - Shithouse!!! Anyone?
  4. Just heard a guy sitting next to me at the Park Hyatt advise that a Group of people have outlayed $200K on MFC making the 8. Have they lost their marbles? I am a very passionate MFC supporter and not even I would do such a thing even if I had that sort of cash. Opinions?? Maybe its the boys at MFC. Would love to think that it were true andthey have that much confidence in where they are at as a team!!!!
  5. Honestly! Can our midfield provide enough goals to win a premiership in the next five years? Geelong did it without having to rely on mooney to get 80 goals! There midfield did the damage. I believe bails is giving time to our midfield and watts as he knows that he may be ready by the time the midfield is. Do u all think that we require a 100 goal forward or a classier midfield?
  6. Absoltuley agree...I recall the game vividly. Was our best player by far. Serioulsy everyone says that our team needs more balls! I don't know of a more couragoeus player on our team the D.Bell. Everyone ha a short memory about some of the instances he has gone thru. More often than not placing him in situations that other team members would not dare go. People see it as a peripheral problem, whereas I see it as a player that does not give up and is hungry for the ball to the extent that he endangers himself. I have thought for a while that he has been played in the wrong area of the ground. Too slow you think. Go do your homework and you will all find that he is actually very quick. Give Belly a go and let him find what position he suits best as I think he will prove you all wrong. Not saying he will be a star but he will be very valuable. Give the guy a go and instead of jumping on bandwagons sleadging the poor guy, how about give him a chance. Absoltuley spot on Whitto.
  7. A teapot! Oh well..probably did go too far however I still think that venting your frustration over a membership pack is petty. I understand the interstate travel issues and congratulate mousey for his support however your frustrations on the forum breeds negativity on the club and its something I don't like nor perform on the forum. As far as 3 post is concerned I have been on the site for many years and only just decided to register. I am a passionate member and don't care what you say Golly. Putting down our club is almost like insulting my mum. I take offence and if you can't understand that then you have passion issues yourself. I'm sure there have many instances where melbourne supporters have coped abuse about the club and have stuck up for them. True? Sorry for having passion.
  8. Absolutley agree...and by the way I have been a member for 12 straight yrs and it is common knowledge that delays can happen. We are in a Global Financial crisis and our funding to certain areas have been reduced. That's bot to say that its alright but I would rather our department concentrate on trying to sign up new members or retain members rather than follow up on a call from a member that hasn't received his MFC pack before the season proper. A waste of a resource and their time which is something we cannot ill afford. Let them concentrate on the task at hand and mouseys goods will arive. They won't do a runner with your goods as we are here to stay and that's what we all want to happen right? I understand the frustration but do you think you will not get it? No! So let it be and let's concentrate on making us stronger rather than pick the nitty and gritty out of the club. There will come a day Mousey when you will be proud that u have backed the club and will stand in front of all and say proudly "Hell yeah, I am a melbourne supporter and I have back them in all the way, thru thick and thin". Another thing, patience on your goods. Anyone who follows the demons needs some as its been a long time between drinks and if your biggest problem is waiting on a membership pack, how hard have you taken it that we haven't won a premiership since 1964. Don't mean to be harsh but think it is a bit petty and just want you to get some perspective about how irrelevant it is in the overall scheme of things. One way to stop the delivery times and the fear of not getting your pack before the seasons start. Jump on board early and this will be avoided. The club really appreciates Mousey's position I'm sure and are trying their best to give him value for money in the coming years. It isn't a shot at mousey just a reality check.
  9. Very very poor form. Whilst the club is struggling and trying its best to place its best foot forward for the future, we have idiots like yourself having a [censored] about petty and I mean "petty" issues. You will get it I'm sure. Hang tight as I'm sure it will come. Would hate to see you at christmas time. I hope to god that whatever profession you get in doesn't allow you to ever not deliver anything let alone make someone wait. The club doesn't owe you [censored] and it is a priveldge to be a member and not a chore. Glass half full, not empty if you know what I mean. Just chill out and be proud that you have contributed to the wellbeing of the club, after all the $160 spent is worth every cent when we see the group build to what we hope will be an eventual premiership.
  10. Feel for this bloke as I think everyone gives him too much of a hard time> Not all players are Ablett like and some do things off the ball which contribute to how the teams going. IMO as fearless as they come!!! u can also add rivers and petterd in that category
