  1. I will actually say if your take on CF’s post is correct, and what I’ve inferred isn’t, then I do agree with you; supporters aren’t the reason we didn’t win another flag.
  2. I’m not going to pretend I can recite all of CF’s posts verbatim, but if you’re suggesting he’s putting blame on supporters for not winning flags, from the post I quoted, I think that’s off the mark. TBH I assumed it was a point that the poster has made previously; but I’m assuming now your inference is drawn from the quoted post. If the poster has made that explicit point previously, then no, I don’t agree with that as I said above. But if you’re claiming that’s what it is being suggested, I disagree entirely with your take on it. I don’t even see that as an implied notion; the post relates to not accepting mediocrity and demanding performance and success.
  3. Do better.
  4. Partial agreement doesn’t equate to total alignment. You can agree on a nuanced point via selective agreement.
  5. Best post in a while, agree wholeheartedly. It’s also why very few supporters from opposition sides take us (the supporter base) seriously. The constant victimisation of the MFC, regularly trounced out by many, is frankly embarrassing.
  6. If Tholstrup didn’t have a mullet and the ‘personality’, people would be calling for him to be dropped weekly.
  7. You can add Selwyn Griffith to the list of names that should be moved on, IMO.
  8. The problem is, this is so sporadic and usually occurs every 6 weeks. He needs consistency in his game and until that occurs, it’s all speculative IMO.
  9. I don’t think anyone is giving [censored] to JT; rather, the criticism relates largely to his first round tall selections. The Weideman pick is the ugly one; with McKay taken with the pick directly after and Curnow also on the board at that point (not to mention, Hipwood and Himmelberg were also taken after, though ‘berg was an academy product). JVR; well the jury is still out on that one to a degree. Jefferson didn’t seem like a great pick at the time either, although he went in his expected range. Overall the 2022 draft crop is fairly poor outside the top 12 or so, but having Weddle taken three picks later doesn’t look great now. Personally, I’m not necessarily looking at the decision to take a certain type of player over a tall (i.e., Spargo at 29 in 2017 when TDK went at 30), but rather the individual selection of talls and the corresponding talent identification.
  10. I’m with you that I’d like to see him get a full game, given four of his six games last year were as the sub. However, he seems like one of those players that can’t bridge the gap in tempo and skills from the VFL to the AFL. It’s not necessarily too late for him to come on, but I think the chances of that occurring are diminishing. Ideally I’d like to see him used as a linking player on transition kicking into the forward 50, I think he could really suit that role (in a similar fashion to Bowey).
  11. They were probably expecting a big kill, given the relative ladder positions.
  12. A poor man’s Fritsch; it’s a no from me. Given where our side is at, we are dying for competitors who have grit and fortitude. Johnson has neither and is also a fairly poor user of the ball. If we were competing like we did in 2021, you could probably carry a player like this (see: Fritsch), but with the issues we have players like this are easily exposed and contribute further to being exposed tactically and the easy transition of the ball from our F50.
  13. Poor fourth quarters are infectious.
  14. Yeah if we’re rewarding form, Laurie should definitely be in. I don’t think he’ll become a stalwart of our senior side, but his VFL form has been fantastic. I wouldn’t be opposed to swapping him and Tholstrup.
  15. Season is effectively shot at this point; the only thing that dulls the pain of losing a top 5 pick end of year is that there’s over 40% of this draft pool with ties to clubs, such is the level of compromise. I’d personally would massively be looking toward getting games into our future at this point, so my preferences would be: Out: Jefferson, JVR, Fritsch, Tholstrup Ins: Melksham, AJ*, Petty, Brown *I wouldn’t be against Fullarton, instead of AJ. However, I’m a big fan of the F50 tackling that AJ has been bringing in the twos.
  16. Yeah, he looks done as a player.
  17. Oliver - salary dump incoming Windsor - ceiling rapidly lowering JVR - not the answer Jefferson - words not required Tholstrup - draft position unwarranted Langford - enhancing his reputation Lindsay - unassuming yet reliable
  18. Absolutely agree, and this is a fantastic post. Unfortunately, there will always be a portion of people who use “mental health” as a shield against repercussions and judgement for their actions. Sadly, it’s because of this that those who are genuinely struggling, face stigmas, judgement and dismissive attitudes by their peers. Once again, great post and verbatim. Well said.
  19. Nankervis still the best ruckman of the past decade, according to Toigs supporters.
  20. The inability to defend at speed corridor transition is a concern and reoccurring theme. The lack of talent on the West Coast roster has definitely lessened the blow for us tonight; the next month will be incredibly telling.
  21. He’s rapidly dropped off post 2021. Each year more and more atypical errors are creeping into his game, as well as a dramatic drop in pace. He’s still best 23, but given the lofty heights he was performing at, the drop is incredibly noticeable.
  22. …and we continue to allow late scores to be kicked against us.
  23. Harry Sharp, take a bow! He’ll still be a whipping boy for many here, but he’s justifying his acquisition to the MFC.
