  1. You don't have to be a genius to understand that is based on his TAC competition results, stats and standing...
  2. Agreed mate. On current form Dunn would be ahead of Bate, however Bate is nowhere near as bad as people make him out to be. He has decent size, can take a strong mark, and IMO is one of our most accurate for goal. What let's him down however is his moverability and awkward turning circle.let's not forget his early form he showed and write him off just yet. But in saying that it will be interesting to see what the FD has instore for him this year in terms of team structure and his place in the side. I've always been a fan of Dunn having seen him play with Vic Metro, and this kid has talent. Yes, it has taken him several years to produce as a player but the best is yet to come. But in terms of his role in the team I don't ever see him fullfilling some peoples idea that he'll be a key forward. His size, speed and agility/movability mean he'll be far more dMaging as a floating flanker who can pinch hit.
  3. AgReed, but it's not exactly ideal in a season where wins are increasingly important to us. He's easily in our best 21 and brings something else to our midfield that Moloney and Jones don't offer, and his tackling ability is far superior to arguably anyone else in the side, and since the departure of McDonald this will become ever so more important to us. Wouldn't mins see Gysberts get a run in his place, but to be honest I really can't wait to see him back on the paddock. Let's hope this "groin issue doesn't turn out to be the dreaded OP!
  4. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/109053/default.aspx Dissapointing to note he'll miss the start of the season.
  5. Same can be said of Frawely. Warnock tries hard but doesn't compare at all. To be honest I thought he was dissapointing and down on his 08-09 form, but I know it's only early days and the season proper hasn't started yet so I'm not going to make any harsh calls on players form just yet
  6. This is the first time I've actually posted on the whole Scully saga as I've tried to avoid (as well as I could) fear mongering on the fact that Scully could be headed North. Though I've found this to an alarming and disconcerting situation to be in, my gut feel has always been that he'll stay in Melbourne. Though this feeling wasn't based on any cold hard facts I came to this belief going on reports about how he conducts himself and how family has been a large part of his life. The fact that he's brought talks forward is encouraging to say the least, and despite the fact we are not over the line yet, it is a clear sign that TS does in fact value the MFC and wants to remain part of our great club.
  7. Sylvia is explosive with pace mate, hardly say he'd be 'modest'
  8. 1. Frawley is irreplaceable 2. Have no immediate choice for a big bodied forward 3. Watts and Maric showing signs
  9. Gotta love the last paragraph in the Watts article!
  10. Was wondering if anyone could tell me how Wade Lees went (35 white)?
  11. I'm pretty indifferent on how the jumper looks really. They're basically always bland, plain and boring and I think that we just need to accept this. The past couple of clash jumpers we've had haven't been as horrendous as they could have been, and I'm thinking that next years will once again be an improvement. They fact that we're staying away from cartoon style graphics is all I care about really, as nothing looks worse. As for who we should wear a clash jumper against, I think they're only a couple sides where it can be an advantage. The obvious sides are Carlton and Essendon. I don't see an issue with Brisbane and now that Fremantle have a predominantly white gurnsey I can't see the AFL saying that a clash occurs there. I'm thinking that we also in the past have worn a clash against WCE too, but I don't think that's really a necessity.
  12. Bartram Frawely Rivers Bruce Macdonald Garland Davey Jones Scully Pettered Dunn Watts Jurrah Green Wonna Jamar Moloney Sylvia Int: Trengove Bail Grimes Sub: One of Bennell, McKenzie, Gysberts or PJ This was a pretty hard side to pick, especially considering the 3 & 1 sub. The team I choose was to fit team balance best, however I have a bit of concern over not having a substantial second ruckman/forward in the starting 21. Would have loved to fit all of Bennell, McKenzie and Bail in the one side but simply didn't see room for all them. If I was to play Bennell it'd be as a floating half forward/ high flanker in an effort to create space for Green to lead into. Good to see some tackling machines in the side, and lien the idea of having a fully fit Wonna down in the forward line, both the physical preassure and percieved pressure he creates in the forward line is something we've missed since Flash moved to the link up man role.
  13. This isn't the Essendon Football Club mate, we should have faith in the FD
  14. Sounds like the lad has talent, but don't think he'd be what we're after.
  15. Not the best highlights package and judging on that I'd say he looks very raw. Showed some athleticism and good composure at times but let himself down numerous times. This kid could be a player but will require some work. The kids got some size, and if he were to produce the thought of having him down next to Wattsy is very tempting
  16. I like the look of him a lot, always been one for a player with some mongrel about him. But is he worth pick 12? I'd like to see us go after another forward in this draft, but the thing that concerns me with Darling is his height. Some of his highlights on YouTube looked impressive, but that's exactly what they are: highlights. Also like many have said Darling does lack those vital 4cms to play as a traditional 'tall'. I'd be keen, but I'm not sold on if he is worth pick 12.
  17. Wah wah wah....Actually read the comment Bulk LOL
  18. I've been told that Will Minson is almost a certainty to join our mob during the upcoming trade period. To be honest it's almost probably nothing more than one of those unsubstantiated rumours that are spread around at this time of year, yet I found it interesting none the less. For me I've never minded him, but he certainly isn't a player I would actively go after, don't think he has anything on Hale if we were to look down one of those routes.
  19. McKinley says he wants to come home to Melbourne and several clubs are interested in him. The question is what would we have to give up to get him? Personally I think this kid has ability and looks a likely type. Look like he would become a good pinch hitter in 08 but his form wavered since then. Looks like he's able to play the G competently from what I've seen and could be suited to our forward line.
  20. Awesome hair!!! Think that's just topped Carroll's pill as my favourite Melbourne head of hair
  21. That's true and I don't see him going see him going any where either. However there has been a lot of conjecture on this board about whether he shall be heading to the suns, or staying in Melb.
