  1. I’m agnostic on Richardson to a degree, but I think the other two a spot on (obviously an exception would apply if Goodwin miraculously turned our fortunes around, I just don’t see that happening at all). Griffiths is a must though; injury management, rehabilitation and physical performances seem to have been significantly detrimentally effected since he has taken the reigns.
  2. How do you view the culmination of the post flag-era and the role of Goodwin? Do you lean towards that the culmination of failings, coupled with a likely bottom four finish this year, mean Goodwin’s position is untenable? Or do you think we tread water until a suitable replacement is found, even if that means Goodwin coaches next year too? Genuine question, this isn’t a smartass reply.
  3. That’s a great pickup r.e not joining the GC17 academy. I wasn’t aware of that. In saying that, given their age I presume they would still have the ability to join? Fingers crossed it’s a meaningful nod to Melbourne life as you suggested 😜
  4. lol, okay mate.
  5. Weird, you’re the one seemingly negatively reacting all of my posts. Shouldn’t that be your course of action?
  6. Kai and Tahj, approx 4~ years younger than Kalani. Tahj is currently playing for Broadbeach, unsure of Kai though.
  7. Yeah XL and Langford look very, very good. As does McVee, especially coupled with Bowey hitting form again. If Windsor can tidy up some of his disposal too that’ll go a long way. Personally think we need to start getting depth back on the list via nailing second and third rounders, not sure we can afford to keep trading up the draft order with Tasmania coming in, but we’ll see what happens.
  8. … and it continues.
  9. It’s actually rather ironic. When you’re faced with this sort of behaviour you’re the first to cry ‘bullying’, yet you seem to take no issue with being the biggest contrarian; or you’re just deliberately obtuse.
  10. I will actually say if your take on CF’s post is correct, and what I’ve inferred isn’t, then I do agree with you; supporters aren’t the reason we didn’t win another flag.
  11. I’m not going to pretend I can recite all of CF’s posts verbatim, but if you’re suggesting he’s putting blame on supporters for not winning flags, from the post I quoted, I think that’s off the mark. TBH I assumed it was a point that the poster has made previously; but I’m assuming now your inference is drawn from the quoted post. If the poster has made that explicit point previously, then no, I don’t agree with that as I said above. But if you’re claiming that’s what it is being suggested, I disagree entirely with your take on it. I don’t even see that as an implied notion; the post relates to not accepting mediocrity and demanding performance and success.
  12. Do better.
  13. Partial agreement doesn’t equate to total alignment. You can agree on a nuanced point via selective agreement.
  14. Best post in a while, agree wholeheartedly. It’s also why very few supporters from opposition sides take us (the supporter base) seriously. The constant victimisation of the MFC, regularly trounced out by many, is frankly embarrassing.
  15. If Tholstrup didn’t have a mullet and the ‘personality’, people would be calling for him to be dropped weekly.
  16. You can add Selwyn Griffith to the list of names that should be moved on, IMO.
  17. The problem is, this is so sporadic and usually occurs every 6 weeks. He needs consistency in his game and until that occurs, it’s all speculative IMO.
  18. I don’t think anyone is giving [censored] to JT; rather, the criticism relates largely to his first round tall selections. The Weideman pick is the ugly one; with McKay taken with the pick directly after and Curnow also on the board at that point (not to mention, Hipwood and Himmelberg were also taken after, though ‘berg was an academy product). JVR; well the jury is still out on that one to a degree. Jefferson didn’t seem like a great pick at the time either, although he went in his expected range. Overall the 2022 draft crop is fairly poor outside the top 12 or so, but having Weddle taken three picks later doesn’t look great now. Personally, I’m not necessarily looking at the decision to take a certain type of player over a tall (i.e., Spargo at 29 in 2017 when TDK went at 30), but rather the individual selection of talls and the corresponding talent identification.
  19. I’m with you that I’d like to see him get a full game, given four of his six games last year were as the sub. However, he seems like one of those players that can’t bridge the gap in tempo and skills from the VFL to the AFL. It’s not necessarily too late for him to come on, but I think the chances of that occurring are diminishing. Ideally I’d like to see him used as a linking player on transition kicking into the forward 50, I think he could really suit that role (in a similar fashion to Bowey).
  20. They were probably expecting a big kill, given the relative ladder positions.
  21. A poor man’s Fritsch; it’s a no from me. Given where our side is at, we are dying for competitors who have grit and fortitude. Johnson has neither and is also a fairly poor user of the ball. If we were competing like we did in 2021, you could probably carry a player like this (see: Fritsch), but with the issues we have players like this are easily exposed and contribute further to being exposed tactically and the easy transition of the ball from our F50.
  22. Poor fourth quarters are infectious.
