  1. He’s too comfortable playing for a holding free at every. single. contest. It’s tiresome and predictable.
  2. Windsor is absolutely lost. He’s not a defender.
  3. Once again, we’re absolutely destroyed by a quick spread with accurate disposal. It’s beyond frustrating we struggle to defend on transition. Catch and roll type of stuff.
  4. His disposal is pretty woeful too. There’s been numerous times this season his turnovers have directly resulted in goals. Given we’re not blessed with a plethora of skilled users, we just can’t carry him down back.
  5. Totally useless, once again he offers absolutely nothing. It’s rinse and repeat on 2024 etc.
  6. This game absolutely typifies the Melbourne Football Club.
  7. Club website has Lever as likely to return for the Sydney game. 🙄
  8. Collingwood - Perryman, J Daicos, Houston, Quaynor, Nick Daicos, Bobby Hill* Geelong - Stengle, Jack Henry That’s just off the top of my head. Richmond are another prime example. *Four year extension on top of this year takes him through to 2030.
  9. As much as I’m a knocker of some our decisions, in no world do Oliver and Petracca not get signed up on long-term deals; it would’ve happened at any club in the AFL. The Viney extension was the one that wasn’t necessary, but that came later. I think more central to our issue has been recruitment, although we’ve at least tried to correct that via the draft in 2022 - 2022.
  10. Beat me to it as I was typing a reply. We did seem to also somewhat pivot during 23; however, we lacked the cattle to move towards a less contested game-plan (and still largely do lack, IMO). Our major deficiency with classy outside runners who actually have pace and can hit a target from multiple angles is what hurts us.
  11. You’d hope at the elite level such rudimentary misdiagnoses doesn’t occur. Surely there’s more self-awareness from players and staff alike.
  12. This isn’t going to end well on this forum…
  13. I mean, if he’s coming back through Casey, he’s still on our list. Seems a little redundant.
  14. As a supporter I agree with you, 100%. But as an entity and at an organisational level, we seem to constantly drive deals where we walk away ‘happy’ (i.e., get the target at what we see is reasonable or ‘market’ cost). I wouldn’t expect us to go down the Bell/Dodoro route; it’s just not who we are culturally (personally, I find this to be better and we largely get our deals done with a a minimum of fuss). As I said though, I absolutely agree Freo walked out the winner on the Jackson deal. That was unders.
  15. There’s no world where Fremantle would give up Jackson and Treacy, let alone with a pick, for the players you listed. But I’d also say it would be insane to give up McVee. McVee is one of our best users of the ball; why would we give up one of only players with the ability to link and run? Woewodin wouldn’t even cut it as steak knives in a deal.
  16. Slightly dated now: Melbourne's future father-son prospects
  17. I’m agnostic on Richardson to a degree, but I think the other two a spot on (obviously an exception would apply if Goodwin miraculously turned our fortunes around, I just don’t see that happening at all). Griffiths is a must though; injury management, rehabilitation and physical performances seem to have been significantly detrimentally effected since he has taken the reigns.
  18. How do you view the culmination of the post flag-era and the role of Goodwin? Do you lean towards that the culmination of failings, coupled with a likely bottom four finish this year, mean Goodwin’s position is untenable? Or do you think we tread water until a suitable replacement is found, even if that means Goodwin coaches next year too? Genuine question, this isn’t a smartass reply.
  19. That’s a great pickup r.e not joining the GC17 academy. I wasn’t aware of that. In saying that, given their age I presume they would still have the ability to join? Fingers crossed it’s a meaningful nod to Melbourne life as you suggested 😜
  20. lol, okay mate.
  21. Weird, you’re the one seemingly negatively reacting all of my posts. Shouldn’t that be your course of action?
  22. Kai and Tahj, approx 4~ years younger than Kalani. Tahj is currently playing for Broadbeach, unsure of Kai though.
