  1. Trengove was a scapegoat, and the fact that know one else has been reported after this is sickening. One of the most outrageous decisions in recent years.
  2. Not sure if it's been posted, but an interesting read. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/115298/default.aspx We've talked the talk, now let's walk the walk.
  3. Stef Martin, has been close to the most improved player all year. At this stage would easily win Most Improved player end of year. Trengove had been great until suspension. This kid will be a star for us. Tapscott. Love his hardness and bullish attitude. Good to see some grunt coming through. Watts has really taken his game to another level this year. Starting to show confidence and belief in his own ability. Even though many still knock him on here I love what I see from him. He reads the play so well and his possesions are class. The amount of unrewarded running this kid does shows his endevour and work rate. Jones has been solid, improved his disposal. Gysberts has been able to flourish with Scully and Trengove being unable to play. Like what I see from this kid. Don't know what it is but reminds me of a young Pendlebury. A lot of people are still knocking Sylvia, but I reckon he's been one of our more consistant senior performers this year too. Rivers has been solid down back too.

    "SKULL"

    This made my day.
  5. NAB cup seems a lot more logical that's for sure
  6. Yeah, this was my initial reaction as well. All we can do is hope that he can get himself firing again, and that he's able to sort everything out. Can't imagine how hard this must be for him. All the best mate, and hope to see you back on the field soon!
  7. Matthews is past it and lost touch with the game, yes he has some good observations of players but on the whole he is out of it. All you have to do is listen to some of his commentating.
  8. Good that we have a chance of getting some of our players back on the park this week. I don't see any reason why Scully won't be played, from all reports he had solid hit-out on Saturday. Trengove will come back in, and I got a feeling Dunn will too. With those ins, I'd say we'll see Bate be dropped, and I was thinking that either one of Bennell or Jetta but does anyone else think we desperatley need some pace around ground? Though I'm still out on just how good Essendon are, I can't really see us beating them this week. Our injuries still hurt our structure, even more so with Essendon having Hille and Ryder. Stef has done well and I've been impressed but Hille and Ryder are no chumps.
  9. Harden up mate, if what I said has to be one of the funniest posts on here in a long time, then you're post would arguably be one of the most self-righteous and pompous posts that I've seen in a long time. If you can't handle rumours or people reporting things as they hear them, than an internet forum probably isn't for you buddy, and also if you've read my previous posts you should be able to understand that I'm supporting what Bailey is doing. It's not that hard to read mate. Get off ya soap box pal.
  10. Can people get past this idea? It's not going to happen, he isn't a forward. He is natural backman and one of the only reasons we don't see even bigger losses each week. If he were to be taken out of the backline who would cover his loss? Exposing a weakness in one are of the ground to cover another weakness is NOT the answer.
  11. Don't be so naive there are many times there has been a predetermined date for a coach to go and another to come in. Let's nit forget it can take time for a caretaker coach to be found/appointed, these decisions take more than a week to be put in place. As I said though in a previous post I hope this doesn't occur. Putting in another untried person is not the answer, and frankly I reckon most of this hype has cOme about by Melbourne supporters overestimating our ability, time frame in our rebuild and impact our first/second/third year players will have. Not to mention a poor run with injuries and loss of experience. As for the info, I myself am not convinced. But as cliched as it does sound he usually has fairly reliable mail.
  12. Couldn't agree with you more. Bailey may never be a premiership coach however he is a great developer of young players.
  13. Personally I didn't think the end score was a true reflection of the match, thought Warnock, Rivers and Frawely held up well under the circumstances. The first three quarters we were still in the game but just didn't have the foward line power to be able to kick a winning score. The continued improvement of Jack Watts. Yes some are knocking him again saying he merely picked uncontested possessions, but his ability to read the play and hit a target was fantastic. He WILL be a star. I also thought Morton played a good game, improved in some of the areas he needed too. Trengove is now clear to play, and hopefully Scully will return next too.
  14. My mate reckons that he's been told that Bailey will coach the next two games then after the QB clash Viney will step in as a caretaker. Personally I'd hate to see the club destabilized like this. Regardless of what happens I'd like to see Bailey coach out the season. Take all of that with a grain of salt.
  15. I can't help but think they look like something out of the mardi gras haha
  16. Did I ever say that I was expecting him to be 'physical'? No.
  17. Honestly I'm giving us more of a chance than most, let's not forget how we responded after our WC loss. The blues have had the wood on us in recent years, but let's not forget this game is at the G. Injuries have really hurt our chances though. But as the saying goes, beware the sleeping Dragon!
  18. I won't be wearing them....but my Collingwood supporting girlfriend will be
  19. Agreed, there isn't really anyone else who could actively come in. No point in blooding players that aren't ready for the AFL. Bennell is a good inclusion for the Carlton game I think, and hopefully Morton will be better for the spell but we'll have to wait and see about that. Being dropped and then brought back in is just as much a mental tactic as physically playing at Casey. Let's hope they respond in the best possible fashion.
  20. Nothing but disgruntled Woods, Toiges and Essenbum supporters...
  21. No Jamar, Trengove or Grimes, what's not to like? But seriously, can't help but feel nervous about this game. We're facing our bogey side AND stadium this week (and we'll be back there next week) and without three key players this will be a hard task. However we can take many positives out of our game last week. Campbell played half a game for Casey seniors last week, not sure how he went and his fitness wouldn't be the best but surely he's an outside chance to come in? Possibly swap with Martin if he was to come in too? Newton from what I've rea seems to have been playing consistenly down at Casey too. Trengove being out will hurtt though, he's been in great form this year and was fantastic last week, could have even bagged a couple of Joe the gooses last week. Tough to cover his loss.
  22. Persoanlly I didnt think that's what he was saying, at least going by what was shown on the hundreds of news reports about it. Rather I took it as him saying don't take it out on the MRP, but rather subtly hinting it was the fault of the laws comittee and the AFL for introducing the rule.
  23. Agreed. Watts was easily in the best for me. He really looked to be fruit his heart out. Too bad most of the other team couldnt replicate his endeavor.
  24. No chance of him leaving Carlton. A lot of people are forgetting players are being told to leave contract talks until the new tv rights deals are completed. But anyway back on to Murph, he'll be staying at Carlton and I'll put my house on it.
  25. I really don't think the term 'elite' is used regularly at all. By supporters then yes, possibly? But by those in the know and those with an actual understanding of the game? Hardly. Don't fall into the trap of categorizing supporters and media personalties as 'experts' because it sure seems to be what you're doing. Clearly those working within football departments who've seen him actually play in the TAC have recognized that his skills and abilities are in the 'elite' category, in that particular competition. Give the kid a break. Will these skills transpire over into the AFL? I sure hope so
