  1. They were probably expecting a big kill, given the relative ladder positions.
  2. A poor man’s Fritsch; it’s a no from me. Given where our side is at, we are dying for competitors who have grit and fortitude. Johnson has neither and is also a fairly poor user of the ball. If we were competing like we did in 2021, you could probably carry a player like this (see: Fritsch), but with the issues we have players like this are easily exposed and contribute further to being exposed tactically and the easy transition of the ball from our F50.
  3. Poor fourth quarters are infectious.
  4. Yeah if we’re rewarding form, Laurie should definitely be in. I don’t think he’ll become a stalwart of our senior side, but his VFL form has been fantastic. I wouldn’t be opposed to swapping him and Tholstrup.
  5. Season is effectively shot at this point; the only thing that dulls the pain of losing a top 5 pick end of year is that there’s over 40% of this draft pool with ties to clubs, such is the level of compromise. I’d personally would massively be looking toward getting games into our future at this point, so my preferences would be: Out: Jefferson, JVR, Fritsch, Tholstrup Ins: Melksham, AJ*, Petty, Brown *I wouldn’t be against Fullarton, instead of AJ. However, I’m a big fan of the F50 tackling that AJ has been bringing in the twos.
  6. Yeah, he looks done as a player.
  7. Oliver - salary dump incoming Windsor - ceiling rapidly lowering JVR - not the answer Jefferson - words not required Tholstrup - draft position unwarranted Langford - enhancing his reputation Lindsay - unassuming yet reliable
  8. Absolutely agree, and this is a fantastic post. Unfortunately, there will always be a portion of people who use “mental health” as a shield against repercussions and judgement for their actions. Sadly, it’s because of this that those who are genuinely struggling, face stigmas, judgement and dismissive attitudes by their peers. Once again, great post and verbatim. Well said.
  9. Nankervis still the best ruckman of the past decade, according to Toigs supporters.
  10. The inability to defend at speed corridor transition is a concern and reoccurring theme. The lack of talent on the West Coast roster has definitely lessened the blow for us tonight; the next month will be incredibly telling.
  11. He’s rapidly dropped off post 2021. Each year more and more atypical errors are creeping into his game, as well as a dramatic drop in pace. He’s still best 23, but given the lofty heights he was performing at, the drop is incredibly noticeable.
  12. …and we continue to allow late scores to be kicked against us.
  13. Harry Sharp, take a bow! He’ll still be a whipping boy for many here, but he’s justifying his acquisition to the MFC.
  14. Bloody hell, Dan Turner is seriously impressive. Melksham + DT up forward make us look so much more steady.
  15. Dan Turner!
  16. Great kick into the forward 50 and a great mark to Fritsch. Just need the bloody conversion.
  17. Yeah you’re right. Contact wasn’t telling until the replay.
  18. Ginbey is irritating. Viney lucky to get a 50 there, IMO. I’ll take it though.
  19. It’s depressing know that a loss tonight won’t help move to Goodwin on either.
  20. And this is the the definition of ‘Melbourne football’.
  21. Classic Max.
  22. Currently our most reliable forward. Will get another year, IMO.
  23. The draft selection was baffling in itself.
  24. Tholstrup continuing to justify questions on selection.
