Finals Week 1 - Non-MFC Games
You never know when the umpires insist on having called play-on before the oppo can enter the 'zone' even when it is obvious the player has played on. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I wonder what the rule is.....

Many GWS supporters there?

Finals Week 1 - Non-MFC Games
It's partly the camera angle on TV. Main camera is too low.

Sam Weideman
Only one slight criticism of Weed's game. When he took that mark in the goal square with under 6 mins to go he shouldn't have played on. He had a chance to waste 30 seconds which just may have been needed if the cats got a run on from their 2 quick goals afterwards. Unlikely but not impossible.

Any sign of video of the match?

Casey Demons v Geelong VFL Qualifying Final
Given that flogging, I presume no one in that Geelong team will be promoted to the seniors next week . So at least we won't have to put up with BT orgasmically saying "Narkle" on Friday.

Gill wields his power (visas for au pairs & polo players)
Sorry, I'd like to believe that but Moonie just stated the reported facts. While he may or may not be an opponent of the LNP or just an independent observer, it was you who made it a partisan issue.

umm, I think the issue is possible corrupt behaviour, not on whose 'side' the money originates. It doesn't excuse anyone to say 'but the other guy does it too'.

Camp wars
Were the 'issues' with the coaches or the players in your view? Coaches unapproachable or players very naughty boys? Whatever, the proof is in the pudding and the pudding at the moment looks very tasty. So even if it was an issue, it is a non-issue now as DA stated.

you forgot points for being blonde, but I suspect the big end of town is the trump card with 'upright' politicians.

The perk of being related to the AFL boss. What an oh-pair: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-08-28/dutton-released-au-pair-after-lobbying-from-afl-boss-mclachlan/10172788

The AFL stuffed up the opportunity in Canberra. Most of the city was originally from Melbourne and therefore footy-mad. But they let the Raiders capture the market and by the time they got around to creating GWS, AFL was a minority interest in the ACT. I think it may be too late to relocate GWS to Canberra even though they have more enthusiastic supporters there. The population is too small. Edit to add: ACT population is ~400,00. Although Melbourne with a 4M population and 10 teams has a similar number of potential supporters per club, almost everyone in Melb has to at least pretend to have an interest in AFL. Whereas in Canberra most will 'support' the Raiders or Brumbies, so the effective AFL population is more like 100,000.
