  1. agree. The only possible criticism is that he should have taken responsibility to kick the goal rather than looking downfield to see if anyone was a better option. And if there was someone there and he didn't pass it and then missed the goal, we'd never hear the end of it.
  2. Cornedbeef: Jonas has no regrets and said he would do it again. If you wanted any further evidence that the penalty was too light. I hope the AFL reads that.
  3. Of course I do! What has that got to do with examining why he dropped the mark and whether he squibbed, choked or whatever?
  4. I'm amazed about the negative comments about Jone's dropped mark. Some posters are almost saying he squibbed it. Seemed clear to me he took his eyes off the ball because he wanted to see who was downfield for a quick pass. A mistake, but that's all.
  5. I don't want to pay for sports other than AFL, so Kayo is no good to me. Anyone have an ideas on how to get AFL Live cast to a TV this year. They seem to have stomped on doing that more effectively than they did last year.
  6. Well if you needed any more reasons to hope we smash Port: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-03-21/port-adelaide-power-launches-match-day-dating-service/10925582
  7. True. Or he could have said (with as much evidence) that if Melbourne hadn't provided such a good environment, Hogan might have gone off the rails entirely. But he chose the cheap shot.
  8. In case it hasn't been linked to yet: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/dockers-went-into-hogan-deal-with-eyes-wide-open-20190319-p515ig.html
  9. as they say, with friends like that who needs enemies.
  10. I agree that the danger signs were there in the Hawthorn match that we'd be clobbered against WCE.
  11. I'll call it - you are to harsh. I'd expect teams like Geelong & Hawthorn to hang on desperately in finals elimination games, so not surprised we weren't able to put them away earlier. Would have liked to of course to preserve the old ticker.
  12. Now there's a sensible idea. No wonder the AFL doesn't do it.
  13. Excuse my ignorance, but what is the point of captain's day anyway?
  14. For those who can take off their red and blue glasses or their desire for self-flagellation, it looks like a bit of both. Nevertheless, the 'logic' of the AFL and its Tribunal is unfathomable and the only thing we can be sure of is that they will be inconsistent as usual.
  15. Not having a direct dig at you D from Syd, but I reckon that if putting your head in a bucket of water 3 times and taking it out twice was considered a success in the USA, they'd be people saying it was a good idea here too.
  16. Just when you think the bottom of the barrel has already been scraped through.
  17. Taking that seriously, aren't you disappointed that it is even arguable whether he did or did not do anything wrong. Shouldn't he have just KO'd the bloke to scare people in future? And we should be disappointed if we don't have at least 2 or 3 blokes on suspension every week just to show how tough we are.
  18. agree, except knowing the AFL 'will' should read 'should'.
  19. There is a difference here. An accident is over in a second without video replays. Here people see the same video replay yet still can't agree. Hopefully he'll get off on the level of impact and the nonsense about not returning to the ground. In my view, he was clearly not totally innocent however you spin it. May be a worry. (pun intended)
  20. I think that is more do to with lack of goals and maybe lack of pressure. Not doing enough thumping of people off the ball is not why he is not in the team.
  21. Yes, I was wondering how many Richmond membership cards were heading towards the microwave at quarter time. We looked really slick, whereas when Richmond dominated it was a bit scrappy.
  22. Furthermore DeeS, just because you were wearing headphones it doesn't make you permanently deaf - they can be taken off in a jiffy. Further furthermore, it is well known that C'wood have headphones attached to directional microphones......
  23. Come on, clearly the idiot is on the right. The only evidence that the Chief is an idiot is that he hasn't sacked Max.
  24. The AFL should employ a decent lawyer to check their rules. If the letter of that law is applied, any of the other 17 players on the infringing team could delay the game.
