Im sure the club could arrange for @picket fence & @WalkingCivilWar to have personal parking spaces inside the racetrack, after all, it’d be for providing a huge community service………. the Demonland community!

So when Pert said that they had scoured every suitable place in Melbourne and that Caulfield was it, does that mean that if Caulfield falls through any subsequent locations would mean us compromising on our facility (something that they aren't willing to do)? Hopefully the club gets the Caulfield shindig up and running, otherwise it would appear that we may have backed ourselves into a corner of Caulfield or nothing.

I was more annoyed than impressed, that if we were to put 4 quarters of effort in, that we would have walked straight into a PF.

The way we started the QF was nothing short of abysmal, bordering on pathetic. It started right from the opening bounce when Max appealed for a free in the ruck (if he wanted to set an example, he’d have crashed straight into Cox, or better yet, jumped with his knee into him). What followed was putting up with physical intimidation and no response from our group until Jack decided to fly the flag after Gus was taken out. If we were switched on, we should have been just as aggressive, just as physical. More importantly, we’d have been ready to play football right from the start (it was only a QF we were playing in after all). How we came out was unacceptable and was equally on the players, leaders and coaching group.

Quite right deva, at least Casey is more contemporary and fit for purpose than our base at Gosch’s. Which was kinda the point I was raising. Our main training facility compared to most other teams is well below standard (and will remain so until late this decade at the earliest).

Clearly MFC boards up until now haven’t had it as their #1 priority. It’s simply been an issue they’ve kicked further down the road.

The Glen Eira council are useless, trust me. I’ve lived there all my life up until a year ago. Caulfield Park is right around the corner which is very popular with the locals, inside the racecourse though, very few people go there in comparison. The council is simply looking for a payoff to line their own pockets, given its crown land and they don’t get a say on what happens (that’s why you’ve been kept in the dark you fools, as it doesn’t concern you. You should be more concerned about fulfilling your own responsibilities to the citizens of GE).

No doubt some very well to do MFC supporters might reach into their pockets for the umpteenth time for our own facility, given it would be so close to coming to fruition. Sadly a lot of our current list won’t be around to train in it and will have to put up with substandard facilities of AAMI park.

@dpositive Demon heartland is generally considered to be the leafy eastern suburbs, Glen Iris and the like. If you look at the rail lines on game day, the likes of Alamein & Glen Waverley lines are predominantly Melbourne supporters.

You raise a good point George. But better some information than none i guess. Though i wont be getting overly excited until they start turning over soil.

Better there than Fisherman's bend or the western suburbs. It's pretty close to Demon 'Heartland' and it's inner suburbs not out in the sticks like the Hawks with Waverley or Dingley.

How did you become a Demon?
Dad signed me up as a member before I was even born. He supported the Dees because of his older brother. I didn’t have a choice, I didn’t need a choice.

TRAINING: Friday 8th December 2023
Many thanks Pickett. Top notch top notch. Loving what I’m hearing about Rivers. Will definitely be the barometer for our team this year methinks. I just love the way he goes about it. As far as Howes goes, he needs a full year being injury free to develop properly. Glad to hear how BBB is going. He will go a long way to easing our forward problems.

Jake Bowey Re-Signs until 2026
Bowey is nowhere near Quaynor at the moment. IQ is good at defending, good at releasing players further up field, and good at setting up and getting on chain connections. Plus Quaynor’s physical pressure is vastly superior.

What's needed in 2024
When the whips were cracking, we more often than not crumbled under the pressure. I reckon our fear of losing became greater than our desire to win. An unrelenting mindset like back in 2021 is what's needed for us to get back to our best. 2021 Melbourne would crush 2023 Melbourne with their continual pressure and ruthlessness.

Let’s hope the coaches allow him to play further up the ground and be more aggressive. We’ve missed his dare since his breakout 17 games.

TRAINING GALLERY: Monday 4th December 2023
Only December I know, but seeing BBB outstretched like that has me excited. IMO, we were only a KPF short of doing damage in the finals. BBB provides us another option going forward. A key pillar if he is fit.
