  1. No doubt some very well to do MFC supporters might reach into their pockets for the umpteenth time for our own facility, given it would be so close to coming to fruition. Sadly a lot of our current list won’t be around to train in it and will have to put up with substandard facilities of AAMI park.
  2. @dpositive Demon heartland is generally considered to be the leafy eastern suburbs, Glen Iris and the like. If you look at the rail lines on game day, the likes of Alamein & Glen Waverley lines are predominantly Melbourne supporters.
  3. You raise a good point George. But better some information than none i guess. Though i wont be getting overly excited until they start turning over soil.
  4. Better there than Fisherman's bend or the western suburbs. It's pretty close to Demon 'Heartland' and it's inner suburbs not out in the sticks like the Hawks with Waverley or Dingley.
  5. Dad signed me up as a member before I was even born. He supported the Dees because of his older brother. I didn’t have a choice, I didn’t need a choice.
  6. If it did, it’d be some facility!
  7. Many thanks Pickett. Top notch top notch. Loving what I’m hearing about Rivers. Will definitely be the barometer for our team this year methinks. I just love the way he goes about it. As far as Howes goes, he needs a full year being injury free to develop properly. Glad to hear how BBB is going. He will go a long way to easing our forward problems.
  8. Bowey is nowhere near Quaynor at the moment. IQ is good at defending, good at releasing players further up field, and good at setting up and getting on chain connections. Plus Quaynor’s physical pressure is vastly superior.
  9. When the whips were cracking, we more often than not crumbled under the pressure. I reckon our fear of losing became greater than our desire to win. An unrelenting mindset like back in 2021 is what's needed for us to get back to our best. 2021 Melbourne would crush 2023 Melbourne with their continual pressure and ruthlessness.
  10. Let’s hope the coaches allow him to play further up the ground and be more aggressive. We’ve missed his dare since his breakout 17 games.
  11. Deflatingly
  12. Only December I know, but seeing BBB outstretched like that has me excited. IMO, we were only a KPF short of doing damage in the finals. BBB provides us another option going forward. A key pillar if he is fit.
  13. Getting to work with Jack & Trac 🤩🤩🤩 Enjoy it young man
  14. Koltyn’s mane is glorious
  15. Fat lot of good it has done us the past 2 years. We have clearly indicated over the past 2 years that we aren’t good enough to simply flick the switch. Our dour game style is so indoctrinated, we struggle to freely switch to an all out attacking style when needed. September has shown us to not be worthy of finishing top 4, which is farcical imo.
  16. Are you the resident with 2 Ferrari’s in your garage, along with a Mercedes?
  17. I’m of the opinion that the real season begins in September. They don’t award the premiership cup to the team that finishes the H&A ladder in first
  18. I doubt the residents of Sandringham, Black Rock, Hampton or Brighton would dare be caught socialising with the plebs of the remaining suburbs 😁. The level of affluence in Brighton I see every day when working is nauseating.
  19. Both the coach and the Pres should step down. However I seriously doubt we will miss the 8, so nothing to worry about. If we don’t win a final though, Goodwin must be held accountable. I’d also be looking at a change in on-field leadership. We have failed to finish top 4 the past 2 years, a serious underachievement given the quality of players we have at the moment (almost like how it would be a failure if Brisbane don’t win a flag with the players they have atm).
  20. Kynan needs a haircut. Pronto.
  21. Seriously there should be no academies. These clubs established themselves in areas where they knew Aussie Rules doesn’t have a stronghold. They knew this and went ahead with locating there anyway. Actions have consequences. Academies should be in place to help bring kids into AFL pathways that otherwise would not be available, not to specific clubs themselves. What do you think WA, SA, VIC and TAS do? For the betterment of the game, not the club. If they want them, they can trade for them. No more leg ups. Id even be willing to scrap the F/S rule to even it all out. There has to be an even playing field.
  22. Id also argue that Carlton are pretty strongly aligned with the Liberal Party.
  23. Well I doubt it will be Yze’s
  24. Was a great game indeed. Jamie Bennell kicked the opening goal within 20 seconds and we were away ❤️
  25. Saxman > cool > sunglasses > Koltyn 360.
