  1. He's probably just as likely to receive an apology from Gil for Shiel putting him in such a precarious position as he is to getting suspended. Maybe if he was offered a plea bargain where he is allowed to play in the GF but has to go in with a different hairstyle to the one he has been adopting for the last umpteenth years. No gel or no grand final, going by the obvious amount of product and dedication he puts into his hair each game, it will very much be a 50/50 decision for Cotch to make.
  2. even if he just gets a fine, he automatically gets a suspension already having been fined twice this season. So either he gets off scott free, or he misses. He shouldn't miss, but if the AFL are consistent (MRP and tribunal included) he will be missing.
  3. Kieran is by far the better player, problem is i don't rate Kieran.
  4. Picked at #38 in 2015 draft, done SFA since, yet his value has increased? Please. If they were offered a 3rd rounder they should run with it.
  5. Lang was lucky that his only decent game he has ever played was in a SF.
  6. Problem is, all 3 are among the first go missing when things get tough and Gaff is similar. And of the 5 of ours you've listed, i'd only have 2 as one's you could count on to at least try and do something to change the course of a match (2 guesses who!)
  7. Trading 2 unknowns for 2 known, and both are needs for the club. It's a no brainer for me. we've been to the draft and got our young kids coming through, so list wise, we are still young with a fair bit of natural development left in us. I'm tired of continually going to the draft, there comes a time when you back in your core group and go all in for a tilt at making a deep run. now is as good as time as any for us to do so. Bring in Lever (who is still very young) and Gaff (a quality ball user, all be it a wee bit soft) and we improve our list significantly. if all it takes is some early picks and some player's we can afford to dispense, then we'd be stupid not to do it. time to stop recruiting for tomorrow and play for the now.
  8. Love the Fish Creek reference Franky!!! We're in the grand final today against Toora and should get the job done (finished 5 games clear with a % close to 290). There are a couple of guys in the team that would not look out of place in the AFL. Namely Cal Park. One of the McGannon boys might get drafted this year too. Tommy Cameron is an absolute champ. Gotta love country footy. Pumped for a big day, fire em up Reg, bring it home Fishy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! R.I.P Alberton Football League
  9. I don't think it's that we fail to gut run back, but more because our turnovers are soooooooo bad that not even the best defense would be able to get back to defend with any chance of stopping the counter.
  10. Link to footage would be nice SONS, for those of us not overly familiar with him!
  11. I think they rushed a few back from injury too soon. Him and Viney definitely came back way too soon and we paid the price for it. Poor player management in my view.
  12. What we want and what we'd get are 2 completely different things. And no, i don't think Jones is worth a first rounder either (age the obvious reason)
  13. Too much for Gibbs, he's turning 30 next year.
  14. Andy Brayshaw won't make it past the top 20. He doesn't have weapons, he's just a good all-round player with no glaring weaknesses that loves the contest.
  15. no chance. Top 20 for sure, probably top 15
  16. All well and good Clint, but what if no classy mid wants to come to us this year? Take them while you can get them.
  17. And that's all he's ever going to be
  18. Our list is young enough that improvement should be an occurrence through natural development and experience, but i agree that can only take us so far. If we want to get involved in the deep end of September, we're going to need as much A-grade talent (or as close to) that we can get our hands on.
  19. Don't need to. How many times was Clarry penalised from the umpires for what they thought were throws but were actually handballs? Maggots keep on screwing us!
  20. I find that the one out of place is Dylan Shiel. Sure he's a good player, but how he made the 22 is very questionable. Clarry had a better year than him and wasn't even named in the squad of 40. But alas, i'm still more angry at the obvious to be too concerned with the increasingly worthless AA circus.
  21. I see him as a Rivers type, floating back/across to intercept the ball. Be that as it may, we don't have a decent one of those (nor would i say that we have a good 1v1 KPD). Given there are no "good" 1v1 defenders on the market atm, i'd be happy to bring him in. You never turn down the chance to land a quality player. I'd also be going hell for leather for Tom Lynch (who comes off contract next year) - Him and Hogan up forward would be supremely better than Hogan, Watts and Weideman.
  22. Actions speak louder than words Saty, and for far too long our club has talked the talk but not walked the walk.
  23. Yeah, no. If you want to talk real curses, how about the 22 imposters that ran our onto the ground on Saturday. They jinxed the club massively with their "efforts" on the weekend.
  24. Pick 10 didn't put in a dog of a performance on Saturday. As such he has automatically become my favourite player.
  25. Of our entire list (i don't include the rookies as i honestly couldn't care if they stayed on or were sent packing), the only one's i'd consider as keeping are Hogan, Jones, Petracca, Viney, Brayshaw, Gawn (though a rocket needs to be sent right up him), Oliver, Hibberd, Melksham (he's been good), Pedo, TMAC (unless a really good offer came up), OMAC (unless a good offer came up), Weideman (unless a good offer came up), Hunt, ANB (unless a good offer came up), Garlett and Jetta. Several of the above are possibly open for trades, those not named above i would happily entertain offers for ( and some i have named above i wouldn't be closed to the proposition should it be greatly in our favour.
