  1. The new edition of Whiteboard Wednesday is up: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/tabid/8667/contentid/275366/default.aspx Cam Schwab discusses the new facilities at AAMI park and what the MFC has had to deal with for the past 40 years in terms of facilities.
  2. Described in great detail, grazman, but I think you might have the incidents mixed up. You are right about the first time, but he then tried to come back to quickly in 1995 and did against the Swans at the G. Then in a pre-season reserves match at Lavington in '96, after doing the proper rehab and pre-season work, he did it for the third time, hence the dent !
  3. I'm pretty sure it was 4 for Fitzroy and 2 for the Bears. Chris Scott and Matthew Clarke were the Bears IIRQ. Gys is definitely looking the goods, will be good to see where he settles in the side!
  4. Cheney is definitely an option and seriously deserves it as he has been starring with the Scorps.
  5. Looks like Garland is fit considering neither Warnock or Macdonald were named in the emergencies!
  6. I think you're are being harsh regarding the Blease situation, He broke his god damn leg !! This is not something we could see coming and this type of injury can be difficult to get back from quickly, it can take time to get over not only the pain involved but the structural issues. I think the club is handling it the best they can. I can't understand you naming other players from the same draft, You can't see a broken leg coming when you draft someone! In terms of development, if Blease had not broken his leg, he would probably have been slightly ahead of Watts IMO.
  7. How did we manage to trade 3 draft picks for Pickett? Is that right? because it looks like we used pick 60 twice!
  8. http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21190 Story of our last win at the ground superbly described by Scoop Junior.
  9. Channel 31 in Melbourne Or NITV on Foxtel.
  10. Should have won by more, but we got the job done in the end! Finally, we have won a close one!
  11. It will be interesting to see what he's got to say about where he thinks we are at. He seems very disappointed in his press conference on Saturday! I'd reckon 2 questions before they ask about JW.
  12. The Podcast is up: http://www.sen.com.au/audioplayer/Audio/Tom-Scully/347
  13. Tom Scully now has an official rising star nom: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/94032/default.aspx
  14. We are so clearly identified as the Demons that to drop this in favour of the Redlegs would IMO damage the "brand". The previous board tried to downplay the Demon in 2008 and it was seen as a step backwards. We are the Demons and by extension the Dees, it should stay that way !
  15. 6- Scully 5- Grimes 4- Bate 3- Trengrove 2- Warnock 1- Jones
  16. I don't feel the comparison with Neitz is that accurate. Neitz came in as a defender and pinch hit forward in a forward line that including Schwarz, Lyon, Jakovich and Charles. Neita had also played a full year of reserves before playing his first game and was one of the last players to come thru the old under 19 system. If we bring Watts in now then he is coming in as our number one lead up forward. His time will come sooner rather than later but after an interrupted pre-season, the club has said he needs 4-5 weeks at a lower level to get confidence in his body and form. I feel we may see him in the side by the Carlton game.
  17. 6-Moloney 5-Frawley 4-Trengove 3-Sylvia 2-Jones 1-Jamar apologies to Garland, Bate, Petterd and Davey.
  18. Sun 29 June 2008 MCG Melbourne 14.9.93 Brisbane 13.14.92 Melbourne come from behind in the last quarter to win. Sylvia and Miller star with 4 goals apiece!
  19. While I had no qualms about Junior playing on, I did feel he wasn't the right fit for captain. However, he has been a true leader of a young team in the first 4 rounds and is playing the kind of football that won him 2 B&Fs!
  20. I think you might confusing him with another Eagle. Lynch is about the same as Jamar! While there would be merit in bringing in a more experienced big man to help bring along the younger ones, I think it would be a waste. He wouldn't bring any more to the list than Miller and PJ are now!
  21. 6- Junior (Great captain's goal at the end) 5- Frawley 4- Bennell 3. Grimes 2. Trengove 1. Jamar
  22. Congrats Finks. I hope for little Evie's sake there's a lot more wins coming in her lifetime !
  23. For anyone who is interested, Melbourne V Collingwood from 1998 is on 7 Two right now!
  24. What kind of argument is that? Just because a player is delisted at one club does not automatically make him a dud. E.g. Tom Harley, delisted by Port after one game in two years, becomes Premiership Captain. IMO, I doubt we can really judge Joel Mac against CJ objectively at all yet. How many people on here can honestly say they paid attention to his games at Brisbane? At this stage, I would put Joel Mac slightly ahead of CJ for his endeavour. He is a classic defender, willing to put his head over the ball and get between his man and the ball. CJ was an outside player and largely a receiver less willing to get his own ball.
