  1. You never fail to take the bait. If only my actual fishing skills were near as flawless. FWIW, I actually looked at some vision of Collard and had he not been a mental case, he could have been a player. Nate Jones has been a solid contributed and if he continues his improvement under Neeld, he could become our most important midfield block, not best, but important. Hope your 'Polishing' is treating you.......
  2. Well Well Well, ole Sparkles himself. Clayton Collard says Hi. Look forward to reading your contributions.
  3. I'd happily donate coin and support to giving Demonology a facelift and the basic functionality to join and moderate. Demonology is very unique in that it was never really moderated until Tim became ill and tensions that had bubbled under the surface for years exploded. Once the first eruption happened, spot fires became the norm and what was largely moderation free had to change, the outcry against moderation was astonishing and given the niche groups it was never going to be embraced, in hindsight , the moderating was heavy handed and that was mainly about showing everyone that the sheriff had arrived in town. I think if Tim and Demonology had another opportunity , it'd be vastly different. I hope Tim can be convinced to allow others to put new software in place and see if the site can make a comeback. The longer it sits idle, the less chance it has of keeping those who have started posting here. So if anyone gets the keys, let me know how I can contribute.
  4. I too went along to the coldest place on earth, my fingers almost froze to my can of VB - Vomit Brew but it was that or Hahn light as I was politely told by the bar attendant.... friendly chap. I thought Strauss was great, on a day where skills and clean ball handling were damn difficult, he and Aussie showed great skill. Some of Strauss' kicking into heavy traffic up ahead was unbelievable, he can pick players out ahead in heavy traffic with consumate ease... I really like the kid, first time I've witnessed him live. Daniel Bell will definitely be finding a new home at seasons end, he simply doesn't have the tools to be a midfielder in our current list, sad because I liked the guy but football is a business. Daniel Hughes was injured in the 3rd term trying to run around a Sandy defender, he came to the bench, they strapped it up and he attempted to go back in the last term but lasted about 2 minutes before hobbling off and having ice strapped to his ankle, not sure the severity. Paul Johnson actually played like a big guy today, he worked hard at the stoppages, and broke even, neither side really got good service from the ruckman today, what I did like about it was the physical pressure he was applying, big hip and shoulders and he actually looked good in a contested marking situation, usually he was 1 out in between 3 or 4 Sandy players and always got his hands to the ball, was never outmarked that I saw. Liked Maric, clean, composed, probably just needs to work harder on going the other way, he does have good skills but he doesn't work hard enough defensively to be even considered on what I saw today. Joel MacDonald is a class above this level, if only he could translate that form to AFL he'd have a big role to play in our side, works hard, is strong defensively and peels off and runs very hard for his team mates. Tommy Mac was an interesing one, rock solid in the one on one but started each quarter on the pine, Tim Mohr seemed to be the preferred option, for a VFL player, Mohr looked very nice.... very nice indeed.
  5. Jack Grimes is not a bit midfielder, he was an All Australian U18 midfielder, his natural position.
  6. Am I the only one confused by this? Don Argus is a well know Demons support so who is the Bundberg, Lion supporting fella??
  7. McNamara was consistantly in the best Casey, Peter Germans reports suggested he was making huge inroads in his development. As mentioned above, he was definitely thrown about at selection meetings. In 12 months he's gone from VFL seconds to playing some very good senior VFL football, I wouldn't call that a failure in the slightest.
  8. Agree with all of that. With decent delivery Jurrah may well become that Johnson type play through player, I'm not for a moment suggesting he'd be the equal to Johnson. He clearly has the skills, the thought process' so I guess it is now a matter of consistancy and experience. Having said that, with decent delivery, Matthew Bate will be a 40 goal a year forward plus what his goal assists tally. Having read much of the debate surrounding what we do with this draft, it is clear that we need to target gun midfielders. With Scully and whomever is deemed as the next best midfielder it certainly bodes well when you add Sylvia, Moloney and McLean..... let alone Grimes, Blease and Strauss. The forward line will no doubt include, Watts, Bate, Jurrah, Maric, Wonna, Sylvia (At times) and possibly Miller. With the influx of highly skilled midfielders it is feasible to expect a winning score could be kicked between the forwards and midfielders.
  9. Anyone heard any scores as yet, I'm very interested to know how Vin Ponsonby and Sam Rundle went for Tasmania and obviously how Ted Strudwick went for the Rams?
  10. Great Idea. At present the total is $2983 with a total of 3410 to get, we are not that far off. I will say one thing, this will rely on those that have pledged to come good and ensure they come good, which I have no doubt they will but it does need to be said. I've made a database of all users from both sites and the amount pledged which I'll forward to fork each time I update it. Cheers
  11. $2965 Pledged between both sites so far. Staggering.
  12. Great work Fork. I created a spreadsheet with all usernames and pledges and thus far it totals 1700 so with Mt Theo chipping in 1500 only a further 200 is needed. PM me your email address and I'll send you the spreadsheet so you can name and shame those that don't pay!!!
  13. Well done fork. Don't stop pledging folks.... we still need to raise another 800 with the buyers premium 10% added on.
  14. Item has closed.... someone on 3100 has won..... not sure who?
  15. I'll join you and raise my pledge on 'Ology to 50
  16. 1350 between both sites thus far. C'mon folks, dig deep.
  17. Hi Fork, Would you be willing to include Demonology in this fundraiser? I'm sure between both sites we can raise the necessary coin to do this. Let me know in a PM Fork then I'll recreate your original message on Demology Cheers
  18. The Jurrahcane is certainly living up to the hype.... far out, he is quick, he is a good kick, he can jump and he is dead set EXCITING!! He is a very quick thinker by the looks of it and he has some bloody clean hands. He probably should have 2.1 rather than 1.2 ....
  19. Deestroy All made the avatar after my pathetic attempt to do some graphic design..... it was absolutely shocking!! Short Sleeve at the dome!
  20. I'd drop 5hundy on Jurrah wearing a short sleeve and donate the rest to the R&B foundation. Come on Liam.... don the short sleeve champ!
