  1. Apologies for the errors, my iphone and I are having issues
  2. A mutual friend who works at ESP, it was no real secret. I asked if it was foxing for extra $$$'s. He said definitely not. He also said Geelong is the most desired destination for another target we're after but it's a case of getting it done. I asked if several official offers are put to a client including from Melbourne, he cut me off and said , if it's a player seeking more game time , it's likely they'll steer them toward that offer, if it's an established player they'll steer them toward the successful team. He said Melbourne us undesirable as a club , the brand damage and poor culture has meant young players and established players looking for success are not evening considering advances from us. He doesn't see us landing an established midfielder we've been making noise about. He thinks we'll be taking pick 2 to the Draft
  3. Luke Shuey has no intention of returning to Vic and absolutely zilch intention of playing for Melbourne.
  4. That was definitely Tim. Carbon copy of what we spoke about earlier today.
  5. I'll call him tomorrow for you KD. PM me exactly what you want to know aside from above.
  6. My thoughts exactly Chook. If you don't like it nor understand it, then resume your annoying behavior on other threads and continue with your childish video clips. Or even better, head over and sign up, you'll be right at home with the current hierarchy.
  7. Are you suggesting Judee is involved in the takeover as well? So that makes, George On the Outer, Judee, Nineteen and the [censored]'s?
  8. I spoke with him about Dr Who being involved, he doesn't know the handle as he hasn't been onto Demonology. He did say Gareth was the person that he handed the site over to.
  9. I just had a telephone call with Tim. Tim is certainly dealing with some long term health issues but there is light at the end of the tunnel with what he hopes is now a proper diagnosis. In terms of Demonology, George on the outer, introduced Gareth [censored], who has registered the DNS. They offered Tim money to take over the site, to which Tim declined, he has however handed the site over to Gareth in an effort to see it continue. Tim says he is happy with his decision to hand it over but not so with the consternation that has taken place, he intends to speak with the new owners in an effort to calm things down but is adamant it is the decision chose and continues to support. He is unhappy with the fact Gsmith has been ostracized and will be looking into the matter. I fear we have no other option.
  10. They've managed to revoke access to people, so I gather they've got some form of idea on how it works.
  11. I just checked it out, it's certainly clear it was a takeover of some description. I posted a question asking how this occurred considering Tim's previous reluctance to let anyone touch the site outside of Nasher and possibly George, a general question with no real assertions, it was immediately deleted and I gather my Administration rights will be revoked, not that it matters, I don't post or read Demonology anymore. I do however feel for Tim, he's poured a lot of Tim and effort into Demonology over the years.
  12. Excuse my memory, that was the James Frawley draft.
  13. More, Sent 28 September 2006 - 10:26 AM I'd rather not post this on Ology, but here's what I've gleaned. "15) Clayton Collard Midfielder 181cms and 76kgs. 4/12/88 South Fremantle An aboriginal player from Western Australia who is a team mate of Leroy Jetta. Has good pace and is a very good kick of the ball. Superb goal sense and just seems to know where they are and is so natural in that regard. Has played as a defender and also as a wing and shows himself to be versatile and a very adaptable player. Did not look lost in those roles but I do feel he is better suited as an attacking player who gets his own ball rather than a player who works off an opponent. In the forward line is where he does his best work. Either setting up a goal with a precise kick or finishing the work himself. Capable of winning the ball in the crushes as well and will not hesitate to put his head over it and he is quite a reasonable size for a player who has only just turned 17. Good body size and a decent height to go with speed, skill and versatility. A little bit of an impact player rather than a consistent one but a lot of that can be put down to playing on the half forward “graveyard”. Not too sure about his endurance to play a game out on the ball at this stage.Reasonable in the air for his size but is better with the ball on the ground. Looks like playing some senior games with South Fremantle in the WAFL this year and then be part of the WA team for the U18 Championships where they will be hard to beat. He played in them last year but was on the bench for most of it. A very clever and athletic player who has flair, poise and a real cutting edge to his work in the forward line. Will develop more and more as a midfielder over time and has all the tools to become a dangerous midfielder when he is finished. A very smooth mover who is effortless and anticipates well and reads the play. A bigger and stronger version of his close friend Jetta. Not as quick or as exciting but that is more a case of how good Jetta is rather than something lacking in Collard. I think in time he will become a very attacking wing who can go forward and kick goals as well as run and carry the ball and show poise and class as a link player." Also, from BF "Collard is a freak, i personally rate him on equal terms with Selwood, but it seems he might slip, which is astonishing, as it would be rediculous if a team that finished in the top 4 gets to add this guy to their team, especially west coast. Mel Brown has been reported as saying he thinks by the end of his career, Collard will be the greatest ever Western Australian footballer in history, ahead of Maurice Riolo, thats how much talent he thinks he has. Is fairly quick, good height, may need to put on a bit of size, extremely good disposal, excellent decision making, probably the best in the draft. Has the Dal Santo "poise", has the flair of the aboriginal players, and gets plenty of touches. When he gets it, he does special things, ala Judd, Wells etc, your expecting something to happen, which is a rare gift. Is daylight ahead of Jetta in my opinion, but others dont agree, can play forward, and loves to drift forward in the midfield and kick a goal. If i had a pick anywhere in the 8-16 range and he was still available, and you wanted a midfielder, i would gobble it up, if he slips past that, and say Carlton gets him, then you have a massive bargain. gibbs, murphy and collard would be the equivelant of Judd, Kerr and Cousins in 3-4 years." Sleeve, he just sounds exactly what we lack in the midfield
  14. Just for giggles. Sent 28 September 2006 - 11:04 AM No worries. Fwiw here's CAC's envisaged top 10 (not in order): "Bryce Gibbs - 187cm on baller. Matthew Leuenberger - 202cm Ruckman Lachlan Hansen - 195cm KPP either end Scott Gumbleton - 198cm KPP James Sellar - 194cm Ruckman/KPP (Too small for ruck obviously) Mitchell Thorp - 196cm KPP Clayton Collard - 180cm Small Forward Joel Sellwood - 183cm onballer David Armitage - 183cm onballer Jack Riewoldt - 191cm KPP." Keep this to yourself please. It's no real big deal and he recognises it's generally already in the public, but as it's his thoughts I'd like it to remain in the 'cone of silence'. As you can see, he rates Collard as likely top 10, but I agree, most pundits don't have him quite so high. He mainly appears in the 10-15 category. I'd love him at 12, but I don't know if CAC will take him if he's still there. I have no idea what CAC's after, nor whom he rates. Anyway, cheers. Hannabal - all things footy. Lone Wolf - join Wolfy dismantling the loonie Left on the general forum.
  15. Ole habits die hard, I couldn't resist, I'm not advocating getting Selwood for pick 2, at all. I'm saying he'd certainly add something to our midfield and he is a definite talent. I like Adams, I like Adams immensely, I'd do that deal, so long as we had another midfielder lined up with 18 to *add* to our midfield.
  16. It's extraordinary that you sit here in judgement , as if you're some sort of talent spotting guru with runs on the board. You wanted Lance Whitnall for Brad Green. Fact. You wanted Clayton Collard over Nathan Jones. Fact I could continue but don't feel the need. Good to see you haven't changed and you're still the [censored] you've always been, consistent if nothing else.
  17. I played footy with Mav's father Darren, I know the family through the hotel business they owned in Burnie Tasmania. Darren is a D-Head and Mav didn't fall far from the tree. Elitist attitude and all about themselves. Ask anyone associated with Gold Coast, they'll tell you exactly the same.
  18. Mav was a highly talented junior, no doubt, but he's also a D-Head and thinks he's just a little better than the average bear. He doesn't do anything elite and he certainly isn't hard in the same category as Viney, Jones, McKenzie. He doesn't actually add anything we don't already have. I made the comment when he went to Gold Coast that he'd end up the same way as Tommy Hislop. No thanks.
  19. So you've watch plenty of Scott Selwood? His contested possession work is every bit a feature of his game and better than Sloane. He tackles harder and is a better clearance player. It is a good comparison though, same age and taken in the same draft. Selwood for me.
  20. Scooter Selwood is a gun midfielder, he averages around 26 touches per game, 8 tackles and as mentioned above is extremely unforgiving in the way he goes about it, he's better and more consistent than any midfielder we have in team, including Nathan Jones. He was taken at pick 22 in 2007 and has developed absolutely beautifully, he really came of age last season and has continued that this season, the only probable downside is that he is probably as good as he's going to get but, that's already better than what we have, West Coast will deservedly want something of high value in return.
  21. I know Cooney had knee issues over the previous 2 seasons and went to Germany for some specialised blood and growth cell treatment to assist his knee and from his performances this year, I'd say its having some form of positive influence. So, is it worthwhile investigating getting Cooney into our midfield, a former Brownlow medalist and a player who is having a very consistent season, along with some standout performances. My initial feeling is, if he were considering leaving, he'd be looking at heading to a side capable of winning a flag but, would he be worth a nice up front deal while we've got room to move?
  22. Yes Nasher it did, I didn't watch it as I had guests and had to play host , caught the last 15!
  23. Jets of the competition perform week in week out, lets not confuse that with a player stung by criticism. If he performs like consistently I'll become a fan. Not before.
  24. I'm the first to bag, condemn and vent my frustration. I did all of the above during the final term. I'll say something I've banged in about for the past 3 seasons, we've still got a Shiite midfield. If we can somehow land a consistent Colin Sylvia( Perhaps a pipe dream) or quickly develop a Joel or a Scooter Selwood (Please Please) , and the Viney's and Jimmy Toumpas' of the world quickly realise the potential they have, we may begin to get something to believe in. The KPP blocks are there , the midfield requires URGENT attention, there may , just may be life in this carcass.
