  1. I should've probably clarified my earlier comment.... When I said there are only 2 teams IMHO that will win a flag before us Hawthorn (Almost certain to win 1 of the next two) Fremantle (Only if the unspeakable happens ) If the unspeakable does not happen... Which we all hope doesn't... and we can keep this core group together, we are a huge shot in a few years!
  2. I agree with the Condit and Lawler loss.... That was massive! I was looking forward to that, big time! At least you were there to see Ryan Bader knock Keith Jardine out at 110.... Epic! I will agree to disagree in regards to the card at 193 as I am a huge fan of Jedrzejczyk and having her there tipped the card in my favour Regardless of any previous cards, this weekend is going to be one for the ages.... Cannot wait!
  3. You cannot be serious? I have never posted in this thread, purely on the basis that I only come here to talk footy, but UFC 193 in Melbourne was a huge event in the MMA world! Ronda Rousey v Holly Holm was a fight that, to steal a phrase from another high profile American hero, "Millions.....and MILLIONS" of people were waiting for. Smashing the all time attendance record, previously held by UFC 129. The gate takings sit 4th in UFC history behind (Obviously ticket prices higher at these others) UFC 129 - GSP v Shields in GSP's home country (Canada) at the height of his fame UFC 189 - McGregor v Mendez (The former being the biggest drawcard on the roster) UFC 148 - Silva v Sonnen II (After Chael nearly defeated Silva in the first fight and a hype for this fight like few in fight history) For Melbourne, Australia to achieve this is phenomenal in the scheme of things! The card was huge if you are a true fighting fan and the fact that UFC 193 smashed the Commercial Purchases record (i.e.. Bars, Clubs, and other venues) previously held by Lesnar v Velasquez back at UFC 121, is a testament to the Melbourne sporting lovers. The next card to hit Melbourne (albeit probably not at Etihad as it was a poor choice) will no doubt be another huge card as the UFC are aware that the attendance will be there. You cannot compare UFC 193 with what we are about to witness next Sunday at UFC 194. It is apples and oranges! Seeing Ronda, Jedrzejczyk, Mark Hunt, Robert Whittaker and the like is a big deal and should not be scoffed at. But.... Conor McGregor v Jose Aldo and Chris Weidman v Luke Rockhold is, as you said, "Off it's head" and will smash the records out of the park in regards to PPV numbers, but they are hardly going to bring that fight to Melbourne when if to be held overseas it should've rightfully been in Dublin, Ireland... Regardless, grab some mates, drink some beers and watch one of the biggest fight events the world has ever seen next Sunday 13th December
  4. There are only 2 teams IMHO that will win a premiership before we do... Hawthorn Fremantle Let the good times arrive!
  5. Our membership packs arrived in Adelaide this week. My son (Currently 6 - 7 in Jan) is stoked to always get his membership card before he turns the same age as amount of years (7yr member - currently 6yrs old) I have a good feeling about hitting 50,000 members by 2018. Just need the club to manage contracts correctly over the next couple of years and we are well on the way to success December Positivity as always, but this time it FEELS REAL!!
  6. As a member who moved interstate 7 years ago, this sort of stuff really tugs at the "return home" strings! My 7 year old lad is even more passionate than myself when it comes to our beloved Dees and if it wasn't for us both also being local Norwood members, I don't know how much longer I could resist the urge... Great work by the club and hopefully plenty of folk get down and cheer the lads on... Note - At least we get to go to a pre-season game at Elizabeth Oval I have asked Santa for a bullet proof vest and first aid kit for Christmas!
  7. I am not 100% positive we will give the 8 a nudge next year... Not for lack of improvement, but purely due to other teams around the fringe... 2017 for sure... I will say that I would not hesitate to throw a Multi, combined with another few more 'certain' winners across the year (not only AFL) This would create the value you would expect of us making the 8, with all the lead up and excitement of a larger outlay on a single bet. Hoping I've made sense
  8. An injury free Sam Frost = A scary prospect!!!!! We are developing quite a nice batch of light heavyweight footballers... About time! And kudos for the condition that young Billy has come back in.... Lean, mean running machine!
  9. Mitchell King Wodonga/Murray Bushrangers 1/1/1997 Height: 199cm Weight: 90kg Ruckman who has been a state representative in both basketball and football as a junior. Athletic player who both links up well around the ground and is strong overhead. After injury interrupted start to the year has recovered to play 10 games with the Bushrangers with 20 disposals and five marks against Gippsland his best performance.
  10. Wow..... I feel sorry for the last two selections....
  11. The next player to don the belt around his bicep is............
  12. MFC - "Jake, we know you are the son of a gun, but in all honesty you need to show us more" Jake - "Oh don't worry, I will make you regret not picking me up" MFC - "GOOD! That's what we want! Maybe in the past you would've walked onto our list and been gifted a game, but we are a different club now Jake" Jake - "I respect that and will push to be part of the future success of this club... Whatever it takes!" THAT IS HOW I HOPE THE CONVERSATION WENT!!!!
  13. Forget which forward line was better.... Just bring back those days when EVERY match we played we were in with a shot of winning and watching us play was exciting and enjoyable.... Also a TV would see out a season without needing to be replaced!
  14. Sorry to hijack the Dean Terlich thread but just wanted to say how happy I am for James Harmes... Good size, aggressive and can only get better... Work hard and enjoy your successes... Let's just hope there are plenty to enjoy!
  15. Jimmy just tweeted..... @JToumpas: I am so excited though to start fresh at the @PAFC! A club that is based around hard work. It's a journey I can't wait to begin! The hard work comment? Are we not based around it? Concerning?
  16. Surely you have to give our coaches and list management team a bit more respect than the above? It's a long two weeks... Let's not get carried away with negativity just yet
  17. They can lead all they want.... Where to though? The other end of the ground where the ball is? We could have Plugger, Dunstall, Jakovich, Gary Ablett Snr, Schwarz (at his prime) ALL inside the 50.... We still wouldn't kick a score that would win us the game! The lack of RUN, CARRY and SPREAD in our midfield is destroying us.... But, alas.... Watch last nights replay and you will see young Billy Stretch looking to spread and getting on the end of a couple.... The kids ARE the future... Our current mid-age players are SHYTE! Barring a couple of the obvious ones...
  18. Yeah, I was at the light training session on Friday at AO and also the game on Saturday... A fair few times I noticed that Jones was almost at a walk once the play had left his area... I believe the shoulder/back issue may well be bothering him, but I would almost bet my left knacker that a flu would be the main cause of his lower than usual "awesome" output... Just didn't seem right even on the Friday... Did a few light run throughs and was actually quite 'nasaly' when giving my lad a signature... As for T-Mac... He copped a dirty one from Richard Douglas right in front of us... The Crows can bang on all they like about Bernie's tactics, but they gave a fair few cheap shots on the weekend! Speaking of Bernie... I have some serious man love for that bloke now!
  19. About to head into the oval shortly... Pretty s.hitfull morning here in Adelaide... Drizzle and breeze is starting to pick up... Took my son down to see the lads have a short session yesterday when they arrived... Jones doing his own thing separately from the main group... I think he'll play as he looked to be moving freely... Quite a jovial bunch and looking pretty relaxed out there... Angus Brayshaw's reaction when my son asked him to sign his guernsey was priceless... Walking down the race, heard his name, looked around and his reaction was almost like "Oh yeah, that's right, I'm an AFL player now!" Haha... Jack Watts (my lads fav) is King of the Kids! Will make a great father when his time comes... Right now I just want him to be a great footballer though A lot of family in the crowd for Hulk... I have a feeling he will crush bodies like a beast today! After watching McCartin last night it makes me think we've got an absolute ripper in JH... Do we win today? Viney is a huge loss! In my opinion it could be the difference... Hope I'm wrong!
  20. All good.... I wasn't going krazy after all.... 2:30pm Friday arvo the Dees are having a short training session at Adelaide Oval Information was on the letter that came with my tickets... :)
