I really like the Weid, but he has to (and will) return via Casey, need a lot more credits in the bank before he would come straight back into the team

Would disgust me if 40,000 are not there, being Jones 250th, any Demon supporter who can, should be going, regardless about their opinion of Docklands

Doesn’t matter, the filth are not playing...

Post Match Discussion - Round 10
Rod Grinter Riot Squad replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The ground is longer but narrower than the G, something that shocked me. Bruce claimed it feels wider than it is, to me, I always felt the ground was smaller in all dimensions in comparison to the G. -
This kid is just a quality young man. Dont underestimate how much he has been through, a couple of years ago he spent a few hours with some youth I was working with here in Alice and was fantastic. He spoke about the issues his concussion was causing and I feared his career was endangered. Can’t express just how thrilled I am to see him back and doing so well.

Meh, we’d beat that team by 13 goals on current form -

The Redtails don’t get to play together often, they are a combined team made up from the best young players from Alice and the surrounding communities

Not correct sorry. They would be crazy to do running before the game, need to be ready to play if a last minute injury. Cant hide the fact they are doing training, anyone at back of grandstand would be able to see them. They have to do a solid workout, as no game this weekend (every non playing emergency does it at some stage of weekend) and footage was in first quarter, Bruce said they were still at it at half time. -
Definitely more Crows fans, but not surprising considering Adelaide is just down the road from here. Great post, put up similar sentiments in other threads, while we play Port and Crows here, they will have more supporters but if we are still playing here in 10 years, there will be a truckload more Demons supporters, as the kids in this area will start following the Demons in numbers that were unheard of before we came here. We do a lot of great work up here, long may it continue and over time we will transform the heart of the country, to Demon country!

Clarry "one of the best to emerge in last 20 years"
Rod Grinter Riot Squad replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
His ability to pick up the ball and hand pass so quickly is extraordinary, but I love see him, surrounded by people, jumping up and taking the ball and dishing off the handball before he has landed, amazing skills. -
The club is pushing for a bye after the Darwin game NOT for after the Alice Springs game. They are different towns with very different climates

Hard to believe, but the little red head on his dads shoulders provided the highlight of the day. Was playing Auskick, had a lot of family and friends around me, kicked a goal and did the best goal celebration I have seen. Had me and others around laughing even more than we laughed at the crows -
They recently had an article on clubs and numbers, I opened it expecting it to be 31 for the Demons, it was actually number 11 and discussed Stynes onto Gawn. After reading it, I couldn’t help thinking it should have been number two, Robbie Flower and Nathan Jones, two of the biggest giants of the Melbourne Football club over the last 5 decades Well done Chunk, you are a dead set legend. Leave this game in a blaze of glory, hopefully with over 300 games and having experiencing lifting cups 13, 14 and 15!

After the Brisbane game (against GC), players had to catch a flight, so we’re a bit rushed. Tonight they are in Alice, so will get opportunity to recover more like they normally do after a game before flying tomorrow. The boys will be fine...

A run for the record books

So next week , we should be looking to adjust it to 22 consecutive quarters, 3 straight 90point plus wins and four consecutive ten goal wins.... -

One more thing, they did a version of our song in the Arrente language, was just fantastic and the locals were very impressed (its the first time we have done this) -

Sorry Bruce, but that was special! Absolutely put on a show, so glad to get to watch that with my kids, reckon they’ll have sore arms tomorrow, having waved their flags so much. Overall, just an amazing team effort -
Biggest queues I have ever seen in Alice
-
Nice, having a segment with a friend in Rainbow valley

I love the fact we play a game in Alice Springs and not just cause I live here, but to play a game in the heart of our country and to have the club visit and work with the communities, some of the most neglected places in our country (to a degree it shocks city folk to their core) makes me very proud of our club - long may it continue (ps - Stuff Darwin!)

Huge game for us, can’t wait
