you dont ? fair enough We have been whipping boys for so long I cant remember when we werent. Many other clubs pay us scant if any respect. The attendance at a lot of games sufers because no one from a lot of other clubs can be bothered against lowly Melbourne. We're so far from respected we are invariably universally piitied and laughed at. i want that to change you do what you want .. happy for you

A problem with that is that any other 'contender' will be in a similar boat in that they too will be paring back the vintage stock and injecting some mid aged "primed' players to kick them up. What Sewell wants, may not exist.

Some ( myself included ) half jokingly thought of Russian as a participant in a deal with the Munchkins for Shiel. I think Jamar in his own right wont be traded but will be part of a package of sorts to get some other deal over a line. He might prove some sort of tipping point ( ironically)

I don't think both Sewell and Savage would be leaving. But we've definitely entered a new age of sorts whereby clubs and players ( in their golden years ) seem happy by mutuality to move on and still be favoured sons upon return etc. So much here depends upon other more prioritised trades. Sewell may well end up moving but only as a convenience and only i think at the back end of this trade period

Its going to be very interesting to see how this plays out.it will say a lot about how far we've come over the recent journey and indicate how well positioned we might be for what lays ahead. Almost as an aside to whether hes the man for the job if he's the chosen one then that's that. I want to see this club of ours go hard at this. Colless and his honchos have run riot of late rampaging the league and in reality paying absolutely lip service if that to the laws and spirit. I want us to get what we want and I want them to hurt and I want to see this spill over into some real fair dinkum inter-city rivalry. We need a new foe. Takes a little getting used to doesnt it !! In many respects the Demons that front the world will have only a passing resemblance to that which we were a year or so ago. Had to happen or we perished. just as carlton is morphing into Collingwood we're evolving into a real football club with a real football team. have to go lay down again....its all too much !!!
