Get some real grunt into the middle and I think that offers the opportunity to release Grimes back to the HBF where i think hes better suited and possibly Dimitri to the other side. Cant see the reasons for angst either . Its a very similar model that many successful clubs use albeit the players we're looking at are obviously a couple of years older, but the idea is similar. Strengthen your core and get the team moving in the 'right ' direction and develop under this.

TM is he really that far down though ?? Was a bit of perennial bridesmaid but was near enough to there on many occasions Hes not being pushed out the door either. I think if he now moves it will be very late in the trade period, if at all.

Far from it dr.. But what do we do about it ? Twiddle thumbs or go on the front foot and not only realise the elephant's in the room but lets give it a name and use it. lets turn this trade period a bit on its ear. Everyone else wants to play by some form of co-agreed values, well lets upset that apple cart and play by ours. lets get something. Like a government whos money isnt worth shlt it revalues the currency to suit. We need to do exactly that. next year might be different and so on but right now we arent being taken seriously.

Ive been having a bit of a think. There is a distinct stigma about coming to us . For a few it doesnt seem a concern but for the many we still are on the nose. There are in reality only two ways to battle this and there are two fronts to deal with. First there is the clubs we wish to trade with. I think we simply have to bite the bullet here and acknowledge that to get them onside we need to sweeten pots. We have to in effect pay a penalty on most deals. if X "not so stinky" club offer 25-30, we have to trump with 20-25 Keep in mind there is NO value to any pick after its all done and dusted. There's no carry over to 14 . It's about the now. Other than PICK 2 whereby we play hard ball or keep for the ND. All other picks we have to play differently to many clubs. Bit like paying for OS stuff with our devalued dollar. Once we can can our heads around this we then go shopping. We might get only 2 good players instead of 3 under better/normal ( more perfumed ) conditions but we gt some quality. Better some, than none. The other front is the player. Throw money...lots. As some keep saying we have to pay someone well in the past we've paid a lot of the wrong people this money so why not target a REAL player and pay him...overs if we have to but get him. Better to pay a bit too much than have no one. if we have to [censored] ourselves to get ahead....so be it. Im over losing all the bloody time

Im just going to put this out there. is Boyd just a bit overated ? is the media frenzy, gushing and fawning justified ? i really think this kid, good as he is, isn't AS good as the footy world are being sold. Like Watts ( had ) he hast played against bigger bodied oppositions to date. He's been able to bully the smaller ones but I think he'll come back to earth playing against Backs who know how to ply their craft.

Can we please look past players with no meat and not likely to get a lot. Aish's dna doesnt suggest to me he would stand the crunch too long in the REAL world of BIG MAN"s footy ...the AFL SANFL isnt the AFL..its a tad better , if, than better VFL. Hmm..Sewell Sewell and Cross... a bit Dad's army but the two are f brilliant trainers and hard at it get the ball mids. Two very sound thinkers with the ball. when was the last time we had that in the middle ?? Probably in an ideal world we wouldnt go this way. Its not ideal though is it. Maybe some scaffolding whilst the middle builds itself isnt such a bad direction. means we'd be at least semi competitive from round 1. means the forwards get some feed, potential to do some scoreboard injury. The backs the a small reprieve and the tide changes. Youd have to look at it on its merits. We have to stop hemorrhaging in games. This would help. Doesnt have to be forever. hmmmm

how is it fortunate he has ONLY one year to get going? If he doesnt jump out of the box he'll be gone by this time next year.at best.
