Id go as far to include an unfit Trengove and the current state of play Grimes
-
I like that he will back himself. That takes bravado and guts. I wish more would. Yes we dont have all the parts of the jigsaw but very few seem willing to at least impersonate them for the time being. Kent strikes me also as a natural style of footy player... get ball get it towards goal. Its instinctive. others just fiddle fart around until its displaced. Defensive possession footy is a component but eventually you must trike for the goals...or why are you out there ? I enjoy watching Kent...hope he gets more rounded ( footy wise ) and better
-
Im not sure anyone's giving him a Hall pass , just suggesting that hes got something about him...a bit of moxy, he has verve. If he can shore up that with a sound footy ability he'll be a really good player for us. Like a lot on our list though , he has part of the equation but not all of it.

Totally uncalled for even if true

There's a perculiarly irrestible logic to that OD Our team isnt good enough A team is made of players therefore a number or all of the players aren't good enough Now we can however say that at least 10 or so are indeed good AFL standard we can roundly suggest as many again either come and go or have potential to solidify into the afore mentioned group. We have a list of a tad over 40 so if only 20 or thereabouts can be acquitted it must leave as many who can't be. Kinda an extrapolation of What is...Is.....i. What isn't...ISN"T

Cant see us and a PP being ever in the same room. Not sure if anyone else will ever get one again either

it is very much hardball business as you put it. But WADA wont be bullied. Little has done well in his line of business because he could control a lot of the outcomes..it was his turf. Footy , or rather WADA and the world of doping etc really isnt his ( PL) forte. its theirs !! I would find it very hard to believe that WADA havent gone this far without understanding the machinations of these things as well as a good appreciation of Chess !! Once Essendon negated the option of true co-operation and taking their medicine ( npi ) then they embarked on a fight to the death. Its about to get very interesting -
No its not HH...tfft huh Ironic that names likes Wines are noted There will always be some that do...of course. I don't think it's a stretch to suggest history would have us side with a thinking that goes to the notion its often more like 2-3 seasons before most show where they're heading. We can't keep having the teams age median so low. Cant have games average so low. As long as it is were underdogs and underdone. We need to recruit some ability and experience. ..and now or its a perpetual game of catch up footy and we never will.

I dont see WADA losing. They wont have gone in half assed. Little is playing large. Hes gone all in semi blind but will come unstuck and drown in the River. Littles technique is that not unlike a bully's. Hes about to get an almighty shove of reality. -
You hang on to...interesting desperative context... to whom ever only for as long as they are the best option. Im not suggesting shopping him around but youd be silly to never listen to offers.
-
more laughable is that you not consider such outright.Good teams know when to move. Youve got blinkers on.
-
not necessarily. Who knows how any trades evolve at a particular juncture. Mac needs a run with to finish off his workm Why not get players who dont. You know...improve. T mac would not be high on anyones replacement list and thats fair enough but to suggest hes " hands off" is laughable.
-
of course he...for the right price, the right trade etc. He's good , hes not AA , he has flaws. Certainly not on the unreplacable list by any means.. That some are saying he needs a classier player alongside to give off to suggest we mightnt have the right player in the first place. Hes certainly amongst our best , but quite frankly were arent that good . I think ideals as "not for sale " need to be tempered with a realistic appreciation of where were are...or more the point where we're not.
-
and again its interesting to note neither Hunt nor Kent were high draft picks... nor was JKH.

Hes a bit of a rare beast currently in our line up. Roos lamented that we just dont take our opportunities when theyre there and yet heres one kid who takes an opportunity when it ISNT there.!! He actually looks to make a play, how refreshing. He wants to go forward instead of hesitatingly chipping sideways etc, even more refreshing. He needs more refining and polish to his work but I too see him amongst a future 22 with promise Its actually good watching him. With some players you sigh and think , "hows he going to f it up this time " With Kent its " ooh wonder what he might do here " Pleasant change
-
This gives us NO immediate divend and for mine just conitnues this notion that kids are the salvation . Thery arent. They are part of a replenishmnet and regrowth but they are NOT the reason you will climb up a ladder. Given a decent fwd set up of sorts next year you dont want to starve them game after game. You need a really effective midfield and some depth to it. . Two more kids who might take anywhere from 2-4 seasons to get really going dont add to it , not in a hurry anyway. By all means get some new young blood but prioritise the recruiting of more Tysons , Vinces, Crosses etc. This immediately steps up the list. trade 3 and 4

I just want players lads who can play and understand footy dont give a rats about beep lets move on...go back to footy
-
as a ...what if I do wonder what Roos might have made of Martin hmmmm

A legacy into which Paul Roos is tapping
beelzebub replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
really need both clubs to push for that Anzac eve game maybe we can exorcise some demons whilst exercising others !! good read WJ -
if theres anything I hang a hat on is Roos taught the current 1st and 4th placed teams how to play They have the cattle we dont. Get us the cattle and surely the Master can once again leap frog the apprentices !!

Im with Daisy...Yes on one hand might have been more than handy but he's not really the ideal model of our needs going fwd. Not ideal. Having said that 50% of our current list isnt ideal. so a pinch of salt with my enthusiasms not to include Stef. Martin is a bit of an enigma footy wise. hes not quite there at anything but often proves more capable than many on a list.
