Credit where due Richmond applied itself, played well, stuck to its task, denied Freo their customary game , kicked straight and won (away). Pretty hard to fault that......and then theres us !!!
-
That is my understanding also. The rules are the same as the AFL tribunal in effect. WADA appeals to CAS invariably revoke back to applicable WADA code as that is in effect the parent code for the applicable signatories of any other sport coming in under the world umbrella. Switzerland and Australia have mutual conventions in respect of Law and the Home ground will trump should an impasse occur. CAS can and will ask the Swiss courts to Subpoena who or what and will then enact these conventions which trigger our courts to act on their behalf as they are able under oyr own laws. Anyone thinking they can hide under or behind a rock to evade fronting CAS is in for a rude shock. They don't even need to leave this shore.

Safe to say the Toiges have gone right past us since we last met.
-
Lance , in your own words 'my friend' they will operate under Swiss Law as far as the procedures goes. (Failing agreements ) Aussie Rules the Law only as it applies to the Rules of the Appeal. The rules are the same, jurisdiction and how the court would or could run in terms of the Court....won't be. You may doubt this. Let's watch and wait...my friend, though tbh the notion of an Essendon apologist would have you fail my criteria for such.
-
To make it simple What law do the arbitrators apply ? In the context of ordinary arbitration, the parties are free to agree on the law applicable to the merits of the dispute. Failing such agreement, Swiss law applies.
-
want me to do your leg work ? Go read how CAS operates.
-
Lance a Sparkly is not Champagne though the latter is the former. Wada code and AFL anti doping are similar. Guess which is which.
-
Wada have their hand the gunnery. Its up to them what they pursue and up to CAS as to outcome. Wada can indeed either get nasty or be lenient. I wouldn't be back the latter.
-
Actually lance no. It's now WADA code as per tribunal rules as a judged by CAS. Get it right lad
-
I wonder what the likes of the Lancelot Link lads will do when it all goes belly up for them. Who will they blame ?
-
I thought a clever lad like you would have figured that out.....as the answer stares you in the face. You are making the misassumption that WADA cares 2 shlts about AFL. If it decides to swing its big hammer it might make a bit of a mess. If suddenly Essendon finds itself without 20 odd players the AFL will no doubt enact Rule 63wearemakingitupaswegoalong and aloow EFC to play as per preseason. Of course the club may well be without a number of its football dept as well. Or it might get really nasty....just to prove a point. So in actuality...there are mechanisms in place for CAS to validate the Penalties as set out by WADA. Welcomw back btw ...we missed you
-
Because Wilson would know what WADA is up to ? I dont think so No Lance..it will be heard subject to the Rules of the apllicable tribunal. But its subject by default to the laws on the country where held if parties do not agree. So lets be circumspect here. Im betting WADA wont agree to anything that gives these chumps a leg up.. Boot on other foot now>

they can actually appear by video link.. People may indeed become surprised as to what they may now need to deal with. There are conventions in place

Rod Grinter on Marngrook Footy Show tonight

A particular element of enjoyment when watching that lot play would be you could see certain things unfold almost like a trainwreck. There were occasions you would see where the ball was, where Balls was and project the likely course of mayhem You could almost hear bones cracking at times !! -
The 34 are more likely to hit by that tram .....than slapped with its ticket !!
-
probably not . If his is shown for what he is his market will shrink.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 10

Howe deep is the replacement pool ? -
There is no new evidence according to my mail. What there is supposedly is corroboration of previously known events but not able to be presented. It's only my mail. It's a bit 2nd hand but the mailer has no barrow to push...just sits in an interesting place. Time will tell. 2014 is right in that it's now up yo the players to show they didn't take that which the infractions claim. There's absololutely nowhere for them to go lest they can show what was taken was kosher. Good luck with that.
