whats an iPhone ?

yep..thats the only real point im trying to make.. it wasnt about laziness ..possibly technique but any which way I think it was a lot harder to mark than maybe we could see at the time.

GRM have a look at the replay.......theres a band of sun, not very wide but right where JW was at that moment you can sort of see him lose sight on the ball as he looks back to track it. In all reality how do you know where to dive etc if youve lost it , even for that blink of a second. He puts his hand to where he thinks it might be just doesnt get any purchase this time not really the best image but you can see the sun in this vid grab, it becomes harder to look into ( I imagine a sec later). Makes more sense in the video

Something some will have noticed is when teams like Collingwood rebound they'll surge through the guts. Often 3-4 players suddenly amass giving options and a running string of options. When we do it theres seldom anyone. Even those two goals Jeffy got off of Gus...it was him or no one up field. We need to run more, and confidently and in so cause a problem for the opposition. Yes its a sort of throwback to the run and carry days, not all together a bad thing if done well. Having the defensive skills to back it up is the difference. Something I know from my Bball days is you can be attacking and defending all in the same second. It can oscillate rapidly. Footy has become very similar in that respect. Its all about adjusting to the play...but very quickly and emphatically.

The Rising Star Thread - Congratulations Jesse Hogan!

Well you can. But weve taken a lot of so-so players who's attributes more more heavily inked in the elite skills and athleticism columns than any real ability to play football -
GRRM...I actually think he just lost sight of it for that moment. Ill call them as I see them. Havent been Jackie's greatest fan as anyone reading here for any time will know but it came in over him and for a sec was directly in the sun..Reckon youd have marked it ??

I put the notion forward elsewhere sometime back he is in essence the new 'prototype' for players at the MFC. Youre right, hes just got it...he just gets footy, he's a footballer, not some elite athlete come whatever etc. First and foremost hes a decent footballer( and hell get better..woohoo ) This kid actually knows what you do with the footy when you get it...he just knows. Refreshing isnt it -
Choko I am definitely near to last on any list of Watts apologists. He has for a long whiles frustrated the hell out of me but he has played a few decent games this year and if that can become the norm, all well and good. Watching at the time it seemed beyond lamentable that he didnt make EVERY effort to mark it. He , like a lot of players these days seems reluctant to mark on the chest. ( back in the day we were admonished for not hugging the shlt out of the sherrin ) Now this is not to excuse him, ( for he fluffed it ) but on watching the highlights it is noticeable that as that ball comes in and he tries to track it just as it would be at arms reach the ball comes into brighter sun. Is it possible he got momentarily blinded and just instinctively grabbed for it ? Who knows..possibly unlikley but hes normally a good mark

one thing ( well there are many ....lol ) but.....that caught my thinking was the thing where we we were kicking it into the 50 looking ( seemingly ) for Howe. I would have thought Hogan a better pack target Was this a tactic,. was this a 'miss-heard' instruction...or was it just odd....or just my imagination ?

Ill make easy for ya farmer boy 2014 round 10 melbourne 3 and 7 2015 round 10 melbourne 3 and 7 atm our improvement in terms that matter...i.e the ladder....zilch

It strikes me as almost funny that supposedly Roos isnt a fan of the 'spray" That apparently is seen as non helpful in this century And yet the single theme that runs through his pressers is that the players arent listening. Well Id be giving them the spray of sprays at 3/4 time if they werent listening. Id leave them in no doubt what so ever as to what they are supposed to be doing and what the consequences are if they dont. I dont quite understand how one of the great 'communicators' of modern footy cant get his ideas and instructions understood . I know ...a little last century perhaps.... btw ...when did we win our last Premiership ??
-
nor am I but we might
-
I agree we are..but then the ladder suggests we're not. The ladder is the ultimate arbiter in all of this. Thats just a reality, like it or not
-
it was an 'unusual " loss ?
-
lets just morph into the Anarchy Football League....

Vision is useless if hit by a truck !!

Sue..I think the point OD suggest is that we lost..and more more that we could have won. It was there for us to do so but we LOST it more than they WON it. We in effect handballed them 4 points We wont win many games with that combination of cattle as took the ground monday

The problem isnt so much with Harry...its with the rest of the team. We have to respond and be as confidently proactive as he is. Harry is ahead of us in a sense , we have to catch up

I wouldnt say timid, just not having the smarts and confidence to execute them. At times he plays quite ok. all brought undone with rabbit in the headlight moments where he just seems LOST out there. You cant be like this at the AFL level , you have to get ball go, whatever that is. kick, run etc start second guessing yourself and you will get dacked every time. Essentially hes out there only because we lack the depth as well as injuries. He gets a chance to possibly improve and show what he can do....until a better player is available. I dont blame Toump, he is what he is. Personally Id put that as a really good SANFL player
-
much to this actually. Harry came from a team that just went. He would have expected leads and options to present with them. We as a team still don't have this belief an often play to what the opposing allows. We need to be positive and proactive and play our game. Until we do,we're going nowhere fast.......just like Harry was.

reality though is that yesterday he 'really' tackled. Previous games have been less effective . Needs to play like that all the time. Hope he does.
