Every club's game plan
We play clumsy football. As highlighted ^^^ It's all too predictable. It's so predictable other clubs just wait.. we'll eventually cough it up saving them half their effort. If as also suggested we had a number of real options to pick from at any given moment with players able to literally adapt on the run ..well that would be truly chaotic for any opposition to deal with. Currently we just play at playing chaotic football. Bit like a bag of crisps...all advertising...all air and f all to speak of actually going on. We don't have a game plan in my view...just an attitude to the ball...all in at the contest rah rah. We have a brand....dumb.

Demonland Fact-Check
It's very likely we're just that very convenient awkward dork that EVERYONE can pick on...even the lesser clubs as they're STILL more successful in the last 50 years. Only the Aints are as pitiful as us but they have this supposed blue collar image. We are those smug top of the towners with all that silverware just tarnishing away. They were great once...but look at them now KICK...not so clever now are we KICK KICK smirk giggle KICK. Oh they're just Melbourne dahlings...they stir occasionally then get drunk on the bathwater... pathetic creatures ( stepping over or on ) To be honest not one of my friends harbours ANY jealousy for us.

What to do with Petracca?
We as a group are very keen to find lattitude for players we hope would come on. Actually...I'm not part of that group.

- What to do with Petracca?
I didn't say he couldn't be a good player. What I said is we don't provide a logical role to suit We don't play him ( and others to their strengths ) He won't bloom at Melbourne currently. He might elsewhere...hence a value to other clubs ( Hint...we aren't that clever presently )- Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder
The public are fascinated by train wrecks....- What to do with Petracca?
The more I think about it...the more it makes sense to trade him. Why. He is a square peg in a round hole at Melbourne. (Not alone ) He has lots of faults/many attributes but in the end he's played out of position and probably told to adhere to dysfunctional team direction. Other clubs might see value.- Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder
It's surprising considering the rules have changed...that others have found us out and short on smarts. It's surprising as the game does change yet we're stuck in the mud (mire) and yet...not so surprising. We're wasting some talented players by telling them to play dumb football.- Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder
Here in lays a problem of understanding. ( Not you...just overall ) Outside players DON'T need to be actually contesting the hard ball. They do need to apply pressure. We are far too one dimensional. Our Achilles heel.- What to do with Petracca?
Very different players playing very different roles....but equally badly Both disappointing. It begs the question though...given this year may or may not soon become a finals write off...at what point do you reset with up and comers.... cutting the deadwood aside to either step up...or out .- Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder

That's it OD.. All we need are some decent draft picks.... Those kids will save us.... They'll be our way back to glory.... .... ?Oh wait !!! ?- Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder

So as I read it...the forward line is dysfunctional. The backline undermanned and either ill directed...or clueless. Then there's the midfield...just the one side of a coin there . And the fabric that binds it all together...a distinctly one dimension black and white instructional sheet. Yippee Ki yay fellow Demons... happy days are here again, the skies above are bleak again, let's drown ourselves in beer again, happy days...are.....here again. Normal services have resumed.- Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder
9-11 Another disastrous season the ?- Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder
I must be watching a different team. Our coaches have built a team which is all and only about about the inside contest. It's all gladiatorial stuff. We haven't an outside game. We don't really have the players for that "style's. So I'm not as convinced as your good self that this FD are particularly open-minded. In fact I'm inclined to think they're the absolute opposite and only budge from their road of thought begrudgingly.. Time will tell. We might have a bit if talent but I don't see a game plan that's going to win a GF...not now. We're one way flat track bullies in a way. We've lost the ability to cover our backsides...and we can't kick a sausage to save ourselves. Quite frankly we're an embarassing mess at the moment.....and cherry ripe for picking over by any team with aspirations and better coherency. I concede I often have a very different view from many here.I don't shy from it I'm so reminded of Icarus.- Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder
Why will it change...if our style doesn't. We will only be competitive against teams with poor defence. Any team with a good one will create the same headache we've started the year with. Our current plan A not only won't win finals now...it won't get us near them And remember...we have NO B !!- Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder
Those who are entrusted to oversee ...need to investigate change. Not necessarily wholesale ...but certainly incremental. What we're doing together with whom we're doing it with ... well....it just ain't working.- What to do with Petracca?
A problem DV8 is much comment here isn't really invented . It's observational mixed with personal experience and expectations. Trac is own worst enemy. He's been in the system long enough surely to know what's expected. It's not an eternal waiting game.- What to do with Petracca?
This is it. You'll get what you will get...but whatever that is it'll help towards another project. This one's rapidly going stale - Demonland Fact-Check
