  1. might be a few blokes go down with the dreaded Lacus Influenza
  2. should it happen that Freo beat West Coast, Richmond beat West Coast and we beat Freo and lose to Richmond then its quite possible that WCE, Freo and Melb will all be on 16 points.. Percentage will be VERY important in determining PP's and normal draft selection order
  3. just listening to the 4 o'c;ock roundup with Ralph and Edmund.(Heraldsun).. aparently there are "whispers" afoot that Grimes will be mothballed for rest of year. Shock Horror..who would have thought...lol
  4. au contraire mon ami... I suspect bottom place may well come down to percentage. Vets.. Robbo, Wheatley, Wheels & Jnr
  5. Robertson's future unclear for now from teh mfc site: ""THE PLAYING future of Melbourne forward Russell Robertson remains unclear beyond this year. Coach Dean Bailey indicated there would be some tough decisions made on several players at season's end, though he would not be drawn on Robertson's career."" Well its hardly a surprise in some regards. We all knew this time ( indedd his time ) would come. ""Bailey said respect and integrity would be shown towards Robertson and any other player when considering their fate."" well.. kind of written on the wall perhaps !! For all his ups and downs ( intended!! lol ) he's been a great servant and player in good and bad times. Not perfect, who is. Probably like quite a few Demons will look on from the stands as Melbourne wins its next flag wondering about what could have been. well Robbo, this is for sure youve entertained us a long the way, not without frustrations but youre not alone in that regard. Enjoy the rest of 09 mate as who knows what 010 is bringing.
  6. no harm in playing the vets as a farewell in last game this year either... cant do the percentage anyharm ( I know..just a cynical ol' bastard !! )
  7. well youre entitled to your view, no probs. Mine's entirely diferent. Beating Carlton is irrelevant in the grand schemeThere are battles...and there are wars. and there are strategems to fight both. Its very important to know the difference. Some do, some dont..I'll leave it at that
  8. Wouldnt surpsirse me if the Dees take a precautionary tact and possibly Grimes wont return to AFL til round 21 after a couple of runs in the Magoos..just to be sure
  9. suddenly gone off football !!!
  10. Got to like a little lateral thinking !!!
  11. so have I..but things are a changin' !!
  12. Rudeboy, thankyou for your totally biased appreciation of Liam :D As you say, we havent seen much yet at all and the mind boggles as to what may come. Its not often a Liam comes along. Is there a certain hunger for something to spark this team ? for sure But that doesnt cloud the judgements of manyof us to whatis plainly manifest. This guy has it in trumps. Roll on 2010 !!
  13. and here Lethals counter to Emma Tanking, Long-term thinking's ok not a bad perspective
  14. Be very intersting to revisit this in 12 months
  15. Cales progress has been good, but intermiitant. He needs to solidify his presence out there and impact. He's doing ok ( but for a few less memorable games ) and I think we often foget he's only 19. He'll be far more polished come his 50th
  16. would GC ?? a bit of experience..for second round pick ?
  17. Its quite interesting really as when you look at the list there is some serious talent/potential sitting there. with the right augmentation there is a good team waiting to happen. Probably like RR I thought 5 too tough and went for top ten. A lot depends on how you see the various playing their roles. These are just as likely to change some as well as a few seasons pass. Blease and Strauss may well add step to our waltz (sorry) but are somewhat unknowns presently.
  18. Davey is only 26 with a bit of effort we will be seriously competitive in 3-4 years..Aaron will still be around. But your call is your call
  19. and you leave out Davey..sort of nullifies your call
  20. so.. we can trade him/them now though huh ? lol ' He (JR) obviously still isnt 100% ( and may never be again )..too quick to get a bit frustrated and niggled. Lacks the poise and comensurate skills of his younger team mate ( grimes ). Has been imitating Brucey in his clanger type disposal a bit this year; not good !!
  21. Well according to Vlad there is no such thing as tanking, so no matter what we do (or dont ) it never happened and the integrity will still remain intact
  22. id trade him...have proffered this in the past. No doubt the "oh no ..he bleeds for the jumper " blah blah etc etc's will come sreaming out at such a suggestion We have played half way decently without him in the past and he will find it increasing hard to garner as others come through. Or dowe continually wait too long and end up with cloggers? p.s. maybe offer up with frosty as a package
  23. youre kidding arent you. You want to burn bright for a few measily moments and chuck away any chance for some compensation for the misery over the last years. Youre either incredibly selfish or worryingly short-sighted Im affraid. The Intergity of the competition ??????????
  24. you must be kidding..Jurrah is going to be as good if not better than Franklin, more strings to his bow. Jurrah isnt the Nick type..Watts might be.
  25. Its so convoluted you'd be excused for thinking the script writers for Neighbours have a hand in all this , its that bad !! West Coast have winnable games in Freo, Roos and Richmond..but will they ? Freo have winnable games in West Coast Melb and Port ( at Subi they can ) We have winnable games in Freo Richmond and the Roos Richmond canbeat us, and probably only us but the Westies might let them in. its heart in the mouth stuff.. would be easier to just go away and come back in 6 weeks .. Ideally westcoast beat freo and freo beat us... dont dare hold my breath though
