Here you go Ms Sloonie - just a few of pieces on the effectiveness of more rational approaches. Many more can be found. Less so evidence to support the current approach taken by most countries. http://www.cato.org/...l-drug-policies http://blog.soros.or...lization-works/ http://www.guardian....al-drugs-debate http://www.druglawre...icy-in-portugal Then again these opinions could all be a CIA plot.

And all the evidence shows that is a really effective way of addressing harmful substance use.....

RF - you have outed yourself as an abstainer, and good on you for making that choice. My question is: If the govt suddenly announced they would revoke legislation that made currently illicit drugs legal would you go out and try some? I know I wouldn't, nor would most people I choose to associate with. To think otherwise shows a lack of faith in our fellow citizens - even though neoliberals could argue that it is their right to choose. All the evidence shows that prohibition has failed and is one of the most harmful social experiments of modern times. We need to try a more rational approach, one that places more emphasis on prevention and evidence-based treatments and less on the failed approach of interdiction. Is that so radical?

Perhaps if we took the crime out of drugs there would be less victims of crime.

Get 'em hooked on drugs and give 'em a gun - sounds like a robust Foreign Policy.

Is that where they found the "large quantity of cash"? Others who carry large quantities of cash are often called entrepreneurs.
-
Is taking illicit drugs any more dangerous than surf life saving? Would appreciate someone crunching the data. I'm too unmotivated. Edit - Good to see Jeff Kennett calling for him to be jailed. That will certainly fix things.

Perhaps "Booze Bus Benny" should try using Modafinil. http://www.gizmag.com/go/3574/ It's legal so must be okay. I'm off to see my government sanctioned drug distributor (GP/pharmacist) to see if I can get some on the PBS.

Had to be a free to at least one - they didn't both have the ball. I lost hope then!
-
Did Geischen make mention of the tackle where 2 Melbourne players were being held (one clearly high) by one Carlton player? Neither demon appeared to have clean possession of the ball. I think they got a goal from that one too.

The way it was reported on Tassie TV sounds as though it might be a major distraction rather than somethiing that will galvanise them. Could work in our favour.

JHO (KRudd's predecessor) - did grant the Doggies big bucks to do up the Western Oval

And she knows Judd is a wimp - I like her suggestion about the glue pot http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/new-pm-julia-bulldog-gillard-vows-to-bring-back-the-gluepot-20100624-z3gw.html

The mystery of what became of Froggy's jumper still remains unsolved. Last seen in the care of the greatest ever demon in Tasmania - wonder where it is now?

I had long hair as a youngster when playing DVFL. A guy with a beard tried to drown me in the mud by holding me face down by my hair. The only way I managed to get up while still breathing was to grab his beard and pull with all my energy. A dog act that was soon sorted by my teams enforcer. I'm now bald!

As someone pointed out to me Bailey's only tactical blunder this season was to not get someone to run over the mark to make sure McMahon kicked THAT goal. He managed to orchestrate a couple of losses - now let's see what he can do when he wants to win.

And look what it cost us - and look where Riley is now

Those 50K membership figures are fudged by their packages with Tasmania. Their financial success also comes at a cost to Tasmanians. Jeff is frying smaller fish these days!
-
Watch those numbers rise as Jurrah drags an extra 3-5,000 thru the gates every week. And not just Dees!
-
Does the fact that he has played less than 10 games make him eligible for the Rising Star next year? Could be the 1st RS, Brownlow and Coleman ever.

New Kaspersky ad starring Jackie Chan!
Tassie Devil replied to Andrew Mamonitis's topic in Melbourne Demons
bought it due to membership discount. The teen daughter HATES it 'cos it blocks crap from her My Face and Spacebook sites. My PC has not had one problem since installed - highly recommended, especially if PC is shared with teens. -
Have to disagree with you Bush Demon about Dipper's bump on Robbie being lowly - it was perfectly fair and legal. I had a perfect view from where I was seated. It was evidence to me that Robbie was past his prime - when he was at his best Dipper would have missed him by a mile. (Edit) Just saw redleg's post - totally agree.

If it's true about the Hawks I wonder what Jeff will say given his recent comments about Benny.
-
We all know what a wonderful job governments of all shades are doing with drugs in our society. How do we know it was Hawks?
